Hillcrest ripped me off…read more They did a good job burying my dad in Sept 2018. In February, we spent thousands on a headstone we were told would arrive in "3-5 months max." We are Jewish and it's our custom to have a headstone "unveiling" about a year after the funeral. Leaving extra wiggle room, family planned to fly in for the unveiling ceremony in October as their rep advised us that would be "more than enough time." In mid June --FOUR MONTHS LATER -- we got a nervous phone call from a woman named Brenda who cheerily explained that the rep who took our money and sold us the headstone had left the company at some point and there was some "confusion" and our order had gotten lost in the shuffle and never ordered (even though they charged our credit card). She explained she was eager to put our order in now but that I'd need to approve a proof. We approved it and discussed w/ her that she would contact the granite/stone manufacturer to ask them to rush it and would get back to us. At this point, we'd been very patient and polite. After all, mistakes do happen and we could still make it by the October unveiling. On June 28, Brenda from Hillcrest wrote back these exact words: "Let me ask my granite manufacturer if they can make this and deliver within the next two months" When I heard nothing, I followed up on July 3. When I still had heard nothing, I followed up on July 8. Nothing. On July 16, she simply told me "I don't usually get any updates from the granite manufacturer until they are ready to ship. But I will try to keep you up to date if I get notice from them. " On August 8, I requested an update.. Then-- almost another full month after her July 16 email-- on August 12, Brenda contacted me to say this: "I spoke to the manufacturer who is making your marker. They pulled the order and informed me the blue pearl stone you ordered is an imported stone. They also let me know that it can be up to 150 days to complete a marker using imported stone, this is to allow time to ship the stone into the country. The 3 month time frame I based my estimate on would be if the marker had been made using a domestic stone. " We had NEVER been told we ordered anything special or international. The rep in February never told us when he took our money--but he did say up to 5 months max (150 days).. In her June calls and emails, Brenda clearly wrote over and over about 2 months and 3 months-- I saved everything. On June 28, she was calling them for info and to request priority rush-- Clearly she didn't really call anyone who looked at the order because all throughout the entire next month, Brenda never mentioned this at all.... So we have a company who LOST our pricey order but charged us the money and told us about it 4 months after-the-fact. Then promised to do something to try to speed it up-- but took nearly two more months just to figure out they can't speed it up AND it'll take even longer because it's an "international stone."

I gave a bad review to the wrong company by mistake. They still called me, we incredibly nice and…read morehelpful. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a different company, but I sure wish we could have gone with them. Thank you again for being great.
