By then during this off-season weekday, the Creede Repertory Theatre (CRT) was having a matinee and many businesses on the main street were already closed. A few places like Off Broadway (an appropriate name considering that CRT is just across the street) were open and it was fun to just browse around. Our Team leader spent a lot of time in the antiques section in back and came away with a nice gift. Another 2 colleagues spent a lot of time marveling over the Abra Jewelry concept. It's basically a mix and match (for example, pendant and necklace) layout that allows you to design your own aesthetic bridge between ancient and contemporary art. It was all pretty cool, although I wasn't brave enough to pick out the right combination for Gayle. Off Broadway definitely stands out among the Creede Shops along North Main Street and is worth a stop before theater or just because.

Almost everything in the store is hand crafted, I never leave town without adding at least one hand made bag, purse or wallet to my collection, may be an addiction. I love to check out the variety of clothing they have, there's always one thing I love and take home. There's a lot of flowy skirts, tie dye head bands and cutesy leggings. There's also a big jewelry selection and gifts/toys at the front. Good place to stop in for the family and I recommend everyone visit it at least once per trip.

The last 2 years though (possibly 3 as I skipped a year in the middle) they have had a kettle corn stand, run by the most engaging and kind gentleman as well as Wild Mountain Jewelry. I really do love Wild Mountain Jewelry as they have such a variety to choose from. I've found myself needing to get at least one of their medicine stone jewelry necklaces every time I go, good thing those are only in the $20-30 range! But they have all sorts and purses, wallets and figurines too. I'm not their only fan, my mother in law and aunt also go their every trip and on my last visit I overheard conversations of other return customers. This past summer I noticed one of the businesses was a tent full of homemade soap and candles. The carvings were quite intricate and I left with several soaps that were in the $5-8 range. That tent is cash only though, so be prepared. Luckily I was parked at the Kentucky Belle already so I was able to run to my car for my wallet, as I only had my debit card and phone on me at the time. I can't wait to see what they have next summer!

This specific business has changed some over the years. They opened up another location in South Fork called the Blue Eyed Bear and have made that their high end women's fashion and jewelry store that the owner is mostly at. That has made this location mostly touristy stuff. There's a lot of Creede t shirts and hoodies here, that's a good portion of the store. There are a lot of gifts like mugs, pottery, jewlery, candles and knives but a small amount of each now that they have split up into two locations. It's still a great place to visit and I've gotten a great handmade knife here at a good deal for my father before. It's still a good spot to come visit on the corner of Main and Wall. If you are looking for more high end women's clothing, I would suggest paying a visit to South Fork since it's only 20 miles away and the town has some other things to offer as well.
