However after calling around to check the prices on Purina DM (Diabetic Management) Links Road seemed to be much lower then most places so this is where I pick up my cat food! Getting set up with PetsGo was pretty painless. We had an initial meet and greet at our house to introduce the cats, go over the forms, and provide a copy of our keys. The intake paperwork was extensive which really helped put my mind at ease that PetsGo would have all the right info and preferences of our cats. My favourite part about the service is that Sarah takes the time to send daily updates and photos (great for my peace of mind). She even noticed that our cats had shaved patches of fur (from a recent vet visit we forgot to inform her about) and kept an eye on them in case they became an issue. I hired Maggie two weeks ago to groom my Persian mix kitties and to say it was a bad experience…read morewould be an understatement. She showed up an hour and half late with no hair dryer and a dirty trimmer, full of hair from her last appointment, which she only gave a quick superficial clean that consisted of brushing the hair out and spraying it down with disinfectant for 10 seconds before she started to use them on my cat. My older cat was nicked a total of 6 times including two bad ones that nearly lobbed off a nipple and on her ear (?!?), while my younger one had the most patchy cut, bald in some spots and long tufts of hair in others. I understand that cats are difficult to groom and all about their thin skins but I have been having my cats groomed for 13 yrs and the sum of all the injuries they have incurred that period of time is two (one each). 6 nicks on one cat in a single session is just far too many and a result of carelessness or inexperience. The worst part is Maggie either didn't know or didn't disclose on purpose, that my cat had been hurt so many times. I only noticed the nick on her nipple when Maggie was here (because my cat was hiding and wouldn't allow me to look her over properly till much later) and when I brought it to her attention she appeared to not know about it and said if it was not bleeding then it would heal by itself. She didn't even check to see how bad it was and now in retrospect, I think it was because she didn't want me to see the rest of the nicks before she left. When I contacted her to express my disbelief and how upset I was, she first said it was because my cats were difficult which shocked me because I offered to help her several times but she assured me that my cats were quite well behaved and she could handle them. Then, she blamed her tools saying her blade must have been dull at the end of a long day of grooming (no kidding!). In hindsight, there were so many red signals that I shouldn't have ignored, however, I decided to cut her some slack since it was my first time with her and my appointment was her last one of the day. I thought I was entrusting my cats to an experienced groomer based on the glowing google and yelp reviews and that having them groomed at home would be less stressful for my cats but it turned out to be an experience I absolutely regret. Ps. I'm not just another lazy, entitled pet owner, I comb them every other day and neither of my cats had big knots/matts or were pelted but they dislike being combed especially, around their hind legs and tails so despite my best efforts after a while, professional intervention is required.
