He is learning Mandarin and conversational Spanish along with his core subjects- all of which he is able to move along at a pace that works for him. I particularly like the way they handle typical "elementary" conflict. They hold a meeting, everyone can speak their mind and then they all decide how they can work through it.. a real life skill! In my child's old school an argument at recess meant children "sitting out" not able to play simply because they had a conflict about something. This fostered ill feelings amoung the children rather than empowering them to work out issues and move on together.. a very adult way to handle things. It's the small details like this that make all the difference in the world for ensuring children become productive members of society. After visiting many private schools we are so glad we decided on Second Nature Academy!

It is hard to put into words how much the years they spent there have meant to our family. When I was looking at preschools for my oldest daughter, I had very high standards. I wanted to be sure that my daughter was with someone who would not only teach her colors and ABCs, but care about her, keep her safe, empower her, and make her feel loved in the time she was away from me. The teachers and staff at The Children's Winter Garden do all of that, and it comes straight from the heart. My Christian friends, please do not pay for services that can never be provided. This isn't like asking for refunds because of snow days. This facility cannot at this time meet any of its obligations. These are tough times, and if you are blessed enough to help them with payments, then please continue. If you are also struggling during this time, talk to a lawyer. Either way, do not give them money for an obligation they cannot meet.

Teachers and staff are attentive and caring, and there is a perfect balance of focus on academic and social growth. My younger kids look forward to going to NCLC every day, and my older kids wish they could still go. During COVID, the center adapted quickly and opened up as soon as they were allowed to, with new processes in place that kept teachers and students as safe as possible. Contrary to an earlier review, families were not charged while the center was shut down.
