I shopped around and interviewed 4 or 5 places in Lee's Summit before I found this gem…read more Wonderful staff, very responsible and caring. Small class sizes. After we checked out various places around town, my wife and I sat down to chat about it. We both picked this place as giving us the best "vibe" of any of the schools we looked at. Pricing is reasonable. There is a summer session as well if you are into that. My only minor beef, very minor, is that they follow the Lee's Summit schools if weather is "bad". They pretty much call off school at the drop of a hat in LS in my opinion. Additionally, the LS schools seem to have some kind of holiday or whatnot constantly. However, I'd assume most of the preschools are similar these days, so I can't really penalize Traditions for what is probably standard practice. Some of the larger daycares that I jokingly call "puppy mills" with zillions of kids are open more often and close less readily I think. Again, though, it is what it is, and I'd rather send my daughter to a higher quality place versus one where the schedule was slightly more convenient given the choice. We've been sending our daughter here for two years now and I can't think of any reason to consider anywhere else in the LS area. From what I can gather, other parents are equally happy with them. Over winter break, our kiddo was missing this place so much, she was carrying a backpack around asking us to play school with her. That's a good sign that your child is being treated well at school, when they can't wait to go back.

One of my worst fears has came true as a mother. My little boy has been attending kidding around in…read morelees summit for almost 2 years now. We have never once had a problem or concern with this daycare and I never would have thought this would happen, but it has and I am not okay with it. If you have children here I'd highly recommend rethinking your decision. My son came home last Monday with a handprint on his butt and his dad and I have no idea where it came from. It wasn't there when I dropped him off last Monday and it was there during bath time that night. I asked what happened his exact words were "*teachers name* spanked my ass" immediately called his dad to explain the situation where him and I agreed to talk to the manager but she has yet to respond. Fast forward to Wednesday my son got picked up from daycare by his dad and there was an about 4 inch abrasion on the side of his face from where the teacher said she "may have scrubbed too hard". Apparently James had gotten into a sharpie and drew on his face. For one if my son has a mark on his face that you cannot get off easily LEAVE IT FOR ME. Two where were you when he was into sharpies to begin with. The next day I pick up James from daycare and he's not in his normal classroom. I get him into my car and turn around and his teacher is running outside to ask to speak with me. She just tells me how awful my son is being, that's his behavior is through the roof(super unlike him), then she proceeds to tell me how yesterday she was so frustrated with all the kids that she wanted to cry(I realize this is normal), but having the other circumstances come about it was a raise of concern. So here we are a week later. We have both been calling, emailing, and going up to the daycare to speak to the owner who is outright ignoring us. She will not call, text, email, or show up to work. My son no longer goes to this school, and other parents should be aware. A former employee of the daycare is a current teacher at my sons new school who has informed me personally about all the bad things that daycare in particular has done and continues to do to children she worked there for 6 years and apparently this past year it has gotten so out of hand she decided to leave. Beware, listen to your children, and trust your gut. I feel sick to my stomach knowing someone was harming my son without me being able to help him at all.
