If I could leave a negative rating, I would. Jan, the owner, is very pretentious and says all the right things in the beginning. However, it soon becomes apparent that she is very money hungry and doesn't tell parents the whole story or rules of the program. My son is turning 4 and is finishing up potty training. I explicitly asked Jan in a Facebook message when we began the search for a preschool if him having potty accidents was a deal breaker. She danced around the question, saying that kids usually don't have any more potty accidents once they get to school because they see their classmates going potty, so it becomes the "it" thing to do. However, during the parents-only meeting the night before school started, the parent handbook has a potty protocol that states children are allowed to have three accidents, then are sent home and not allowed to return until they are sure to be potty trained. Never once was this protocol mentioned to me in the beginning stages or when I asked. At this point, i had already paid fees for field trips and supplies, so we continued with my son going here. My son was not comfortable with Jan or his classroom teacher for the first 3 days that he went here, so he would not go to the bathroom with them. He ended up having accidents. Each day I got a call from Jan with an increasingly frustrated tone to her voice. The last time we spoke she basically accused me of lying about my son's potty training ability, and said that he would not be allowed to return until we could "prove" his ability to potty in the toilet. My son does go in the toilet while he is at home and at his grandparents, as well as in public. It was here that he refused, for some reason.I told Jan that I wasn't sure why he wouldn't go there, but that not letting him return isn't the right thing to do. He needs a little more time to become comfortable with the school setting and staff and he will get it. She refused. She refunded me $125 of the month of September's tuition. However, she refused to return the fees ($150) for field trips and supplies, stating that these were non-refundable. This is THEFT. I will be contacting an attorney and putting out this review so that other parents will not be fooled by this woman. She comes across as super sweet and caring. The only thing she cares about is money. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO APPLETREE! Run, don't walk, away!!!!! read more
