Laurie told us all about the school and answered any questions. She gave us the opportunity to visit the classrooms and see how things run. My husband went to a Montessori school as a child, so he experienced a flood of happy memories. It was everything he dreamed of for our active little boy. We returned the next week with our little boy so he could join a class. The staff wanted to see how he fit in. Everything felt good, so we moved forward with enrollment. He's currently doing day care, but will do preschool this coming fall. Our plan is to do three full days a week (you can do full or half days, 3-5 days a week). To start the process of getting our son comfortable, they like to begin with five days. If possible, they like for one parent to stay with the child so they can leave early (probably a half day to start). This is allowing our son a smooth transition. Every child is different, so things can be adjusted depending on how they handle it. I look forward to posting again later once we've spent more time here and learn more. But we love this place so far!!

We were a family living in Los Angeles, raising 2 young kids and had learned enough about the values of grit, self-directed learning, and raising empowered kids that we knew the right school environment was of the utmost importance to us. The problem was, the only kinds of schools in Los Angeles that offer that kind of education cost LITERALLY 20-30 thousand dollars a year. For PRESCHOOL. That is insane, and it was impossible for us to consider. But when we discovered the Antioch School, their incredible teachers, the grounds, the philosophy, the history, etc. AND saw that it was not only much less expensive, but offers financial aid to nearly 50% of it's students, it sealed the deal for us. We moved here and have had our oldest in the school for 2 years and his transformation has been incredible. Getting to watch his social skills and capacity for play and learning, trying new things, etc. It's the greatest gift we could give him (and ourselves as parents.) If you're a parent who believes that the modern public system of over-testing and lack of exploration for kids is NOT the solution to raising well-adjusted, smart, capable kids or if you believe that playing outdoors is more important than spending 8 hours a day at a desk, this is the school for you. And you won't find a better one for hundreds of miles around.

The teachers are so patient and loved our son like their own!! He learned so much more than just ABC's! He learned about the world and his space in it, how to be a kind friend, how to read and write, and math. And the best part was it was all at his pace when he was motivated to do it!! We loved the Montessori philosophy to "follow the child" while incorporating independent work and self-discovery! We would definitely recommend DMS to others!! We LOVED DMS!!! I cannot gush enough about World of Love. Our daughter has been going here since she was two (she…read moreis now 4 1/2) and each class and teacher has been amazing. I have cried every time she grows out of one room only to cry again when she leaves that room. The school keeps a detailed schedule so you can see what your little one is up to and every teacher and person on staff takes a personal interest in your child. I have walked in after being on vacation and had a member of the kitchen crew say, "Harper, we missed you last week" to my daughter. During the summer there are so many different activities for the kids and every Wednesday is chapel. I also have strict diet requirements for my daughter and they have been very accommodating with all of that! If World of Love has a spot open I highly recommend sending your child here!

The team at Goddard School of Beavercreek is extremely helpful and responsive to any questions. We only left the center because a closer location to our home opened up. They tried to nickel and dime me when taking the kids out. In addition, the cost is very expensive. While at first thought it was great, there's low level of continuation. While picking up kids no one really talks to you. Often they couldn't absent any questions I may have about the child's notes etc. having to bring their food everyday was also difficult but what was frustrating is that they throw away thing the child didn't eat. Even if it was unopened and non perishable. For example a granola bar or chips. That gets very expensive. I understand a half eaten yogurt. But hard to know what exactly to put in a lunch when you know things will just be thrown away because that's their rules. So overall DO NOT recommend this facility. Was not impressed.
