However, early conversations let me know that he paid attention to detail and made sure his work was done right. The remodel involved removing and replacing shower and floor tile, replacing toilet, replacing vanity and sink, and refinishing tub. The work was done efficiently and knowledgeably; and we are very happy with the results.

We had DeLeers come out to look at a small remodeling project. At the appointment, we discussed…read morebudget and ballpark estimates, and Brian felt confident we'd land roughly in the $20k range. He used phrases like "on the high side" and I can't imagine it being more than that," and made us feel assured that our budgeting was appropriate. Given that, we agreed to a deposit of $250 for him to go ahead with a formal quote, per company policy. When the proposal came back, it was $45K, which is more than double what we had discussed. While I understand that quality work and materials are costly, I don't understand how his verbal estimates were so grossly inaccurate, especially when he said he's been working there for 18 years. While I understand the deposit was intended to cover his time in gathering the estimates, and that he "doesn't work for free," a large part of his job is properly estimating potential costs for potential clients, and he did not do that. We agreed to the $250 deposit based on incredibly inaccurate numbers, and when I requested our deposit back, we were denied (twice.) While I don't think it was his intention to be deceptive, we felt swindled out of $250. I was very disappointed that they weren't willing to refund us.

Paige's design suggestions were so perfect for what we needed, and Joe was masterful in problem-solving so that we could install the 2nd-floor laundry that I had hoped for. From start to finish, every member of their team was pleasant, professional, hard-working, kind, respectful of us and our home, and wasted no time to get our project completed. I would hire them again in a heartbeat! We are so pleased with the results, and we rest well, knowing all work was carefully done and will last another hundred years, at least! Thank you to all of the team for the fantastic experience! God bless you all!

We purchased a "spec home" built by Detrie last fall. It has been an awful experience. After…read moretouring the house we declined it as an option because the stain color used was an unpleasant brown (medium orange). After we left the real estate agent CONTACTED US and stated the stain color was used by mistake and that the seller would have it refinished - at their expense. We decided to move forward ONLY after clarifying that the work would not be done by just covering over the original stain in any way. We literally said - "it's fine if you plan on doing that, but then it just isn't the house for us". Throughout the negotiation process we continued to clarify and be upfront about how the work would be done- each time we were re-assured by the selling agent that they knew we didn't want the work done that way & "it will be perfect". We moved from out of state & arrived for our final walk through right after everything was freshly redone. In the coming days after closing we started to notice runs & drips everywhere on the trim. The stain also seemed to form a dark film on top & the natural grain of the wood was pretty much gone. To make matters worse - someone from Detrie came in and changed some damaged trim boards and they are a totally different stain color. In the coming weeks we found out they basically just spray painted over everything - no sanding or removing of the old finish. The result is a blotchy uneven top film with numerous runs and drips - basically it looks like smoke damage over the medium orange stain color. To this day I'm so angry that we are here - we could not have been more upfront about what our expectations were. It's impossible to be an informed buyer if you are lied to to protect someone else's pocket book. It's been devastating to our transition here from out of state. We paid full price to be lied to and now we have to pay thousands of dollars in legal fees over - or tens of thousands of dollars to replace the damage they caused.
