All throughout the pines are jogging/biking trails of all capabilities. What a great feelin to be among all these stately pines! The shade is good with a hint of sun peeking through. A few of the recreational activities are of a standard size pool which is shared by the local high school swim team. Speaking of water there's a splash pad for the kiddies. The children can also play on a large playground. Some of the courts that are provided are basketball, disc golf, racquetball, and pickleball. There's also a regulation baseball field for minor and children's leagues. A number of the pavilions require a reservation and possibly a fee. The air conditioned recreation building has a full kitchen and is sometimes used for programs and classes. Though I haven't seen it yet, somewhere is a youth camping area. The butterfly garden gives some added glamour to the park. Of note, this is a pet friendly park and you can find pick up bags all over the park. All of those amenities are completely free! Park hours are 7am - 9pm.

Captain Marty, our guide, provided a beautiful history about how the manatees group together in the warm water at winter time. We went into the cove area and there was 1 manatee that other boats were waiting to see. After one group left, we swam up, saw it for about 5 min before it swam off. That was basically the extent of it. I swam to see one of the springs. But for $500 for a family of 5; I wish there we could have seen others or at least tried to go and see other ones. It also would have been helpful if we could have had an option to cancel if they had tours that didn't see any or really low exposure that day (or been able to reschedule for a colder day).

It has 2 sections, one for smaller children pre-school/toddler age. The other section is for older children that require less supervision or guidance. There are only two swings and neither are the toddler seat style. It is also fenced in for added security. The ground is mostly sand so wear your old play shoes! Again, if you're looking more for a park where you can hang out and chill, this is probably not the place.
