In a roundabout way through another photographer based out of Colorado Springs, we got connected with dozens of photographers in the area. As I clicked through the websites and galleries that were sent from all those photographers, I just wasn't in love with the work...Until I got Dani's email! It took all of 30 seconds to know I had found our photographer. We booked a mini session which was perfect for our 2 and 5 year old. Dani does an amazing job capturing genuine family interactions and not super stiff, formal poses. She helped us with clothing ideas, location, and let us swap days when the weather ended up being miserable for the kids. We were so thrilled with our first session that we booked a full session for our extended family trip this year. Dani handled our group of 15 (7 of those being young kids) so well. We were blown away by the beautiful gallery we just received. Those images will be treasured for years!

My advice is to listen to her advice :) My family just moved to Breck, and I don't live there, and so no one in our group knew the area super well. But I mentioned what kind of location we were looking for and she gave me a few great options. It seemed like she was very used to clients not knowing their way around Breck and was super helpful in that regard. She even had a brunch location suggest for us, after our shoot. I wanted to get some photos with my parents and the family tree they created (ie my parents, their kids and their grandkids). The shoot included a 7 year old, 2 year old and a 10 month old. There was a lot of kid-wrangling to do and Alisa was amazing. My 7 year old nephew hates having his photo taken. Seriously. He hates it. I don't think I have a single decent photo of him. But Alisa was able to get him to smile and be silly for her. She got some amazing group photos, as well as portraits of him! And she was even able to wrangle my unpredictable baby. Her quote was actually a bit higher than other quotes I got. But from her portfolio photos, as well as her communication skills, I suspected that she'd be worth it. And now that I have the finished photos, I know that I was right. Her ability to handle little kids is incredible. It's definitely not something that everyone can do and I think it kind of key for a family photographer. For anyone looking to take some photos in Breck, I can't suggest Alisa enough.
