Here at Katy's was pleasant, painfree, cheap with good results! It's the first time I'd been to a nail salon like Katy's - minimal talking, sit and wait for a free technician, speedy but efficient service - so I didn't quite know the deal. There were a few awkward moments where I had to be told where to go, when to wait, what to do. But everyone was great at their job, and I was very happy with my £30 pedicure and manicure which has lasted me a full week without issues. Just make sure you go with cash! I had to run out mid way after spotting their "Cash Only" sign on the wall. Luckily there's a cash point a few doors down.

The technician removed the product from my entire first hand before telling me it was apparently hard gel rather than regular gel and that she wasn't qualified/authorised to remove it. I'm not a nail technician, so I'm not sure how a customer is expected to know the technical difference when their own trained technician couldn't identify it before starting the removal. I even offered to skip the manicure completely and just have the product removed, but they couldn't do that either because the technicians available weren't qualified to perform hard-gel removal. I left with no manicure, one hand partially removed and the other untouched. Townhouse then refused to refund me for the incomplete service and instead gave me account points, despite me clearly saying I don't want credit or another appointment. Very poor handling of the appointment and subsequent complaint. I definitely won't be returning.

City Nails looks like your standard nail salon, it's clean, there's a mind boggling array of polish shades, and a to in the corner playing terrible pop. I got a full set of acrylics and a pedicure done and am super pleased with the result. My pedicure was quick but thorough and my tips are the perfect length as well as being beautifully thin. They were fast and didn't over file my nails down before the tips, so I have nothing bad to say! If you're local for a good no frills nail place, this is totally it.

I have been going to her every two weeks for about 5 months now and have not yet been disappointed. She is very talented with nail art and can do any style, length, or design that you want. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and picked the colour I wanted. The salon looks very clean and there are music videos running on the super big plasma tv. I felt very at ease and comfortable whilst getting my nails done. It took 1 hour 45minutes to finish my treatment so I had a had a long chat friendly with the therapist.
