We asked Robert to come estimate on the filling of these two holes as well as to fix the newly broken downspout drainage pipe (the original company also burst the main water pipe). Also asked him about some asphalt areas that were affected by tree roots. Hired him to do all of it. They did a great job filling, removing, and paving. Everything was also completed before deadline and any debris was cleaned up. In the future, my plan is to hire him to seal my asphalt. His price is very competitive also. And scheduling was easy. He responds immediately when you contact him, and most importantly I find he is a honest businessman.

Steve was very helpful and thought the project was easy enough and told me to call Jeff in the office the following day. I called Jeff at SOC and let him know who I was and what I needed done and he responded that Steve let him know. Jeff went on to tell me that the job was to small for him right now and to go rent a cement cutter. I replied that he thought the job was to small for him even if it meant a re-pour of my garage floor as a two stage project?? He said, "yeah, not interested" and "we don't do that kind of thing". I don't understand contractors who turn away work because it is too small. Steve didn't think the job to small and had indicated that he probably would be the one to come out. So clearly, they do this kind of thing. Keep in mind that this concrete company is practically my neighbor about a mile down my street. This was simple enough to do in an evening or on a weekend when they had some time to help. I have health issues and renting a saw to cut the tile myself isn't exactly an option right now. Maybe a good thing he turned down the job. I like contractors who aren't afraid of work, will do what they say they can do and do the work right. Big or small, a job pays the same.

I did engage my attorney yesterday to see what next steps are to get Brandon to perform. Brandon called my phone twice recently and didn't leave a message about what he was calling about. Then he scolded me about not returning his calls. I informed him if you do not leave a message. I think you butt dialed me. I'm not going to waste my time returning a call when I have no idea if you intended to call or what you were calling about. I do know that he likes to fish and hunt and will drop what he's doing to go do that. I did give him a number of opportunities to make good and not breach our contract before engaging my attorney. I did include a few photos for reference, but they're a number of other items still needing to be completed. Not happy!

Rescheduled, but did not show up to the new date, nor respond to my email asking for clarification. Just left me hanging. He clearly decided he did not want to do my irrigation project, but instead of communicating, he strung me along and made promises he never intended to keep. To completely ghost me and not even respond after agreeing to do the project is some of the most unprofessional behavior I've ever encountered. If he doesn't want to do my project, fine. Just be a decent human and tell me. Now I am several weeks behind on my project. Please save yourself weeks of headache and choose a different company!

I hired Darrell to inspect my two chimneys and install two chimney caps. Of the several quotes I…read morereceived his was the best and most honest. His knowledge of everything about masonry was on point and generous. My quest to cap my chimneys started this past spring when an adult Swift bird got into the gas fire box because the flue had fully opened up during a recent wind storm. Fortunately the pilot light for the gas log set was not lit and we were able to let the bird into the house, capture it into a garbage bag and release it unharmed outside. A few weeks later we were startled to hear the chirping of baby swifts in the same chimney when mom or dad dove down the chimney to bring them food at the tiny nest they built just above the flue opening. We had to endure the loud chirping ~ every 7 minutes for two months as the chicks grew and finally flew away. Darrel did a great job finding the right caps of different sizes, chipping some cement away from the one chimney liner to expose enough of the liner to attach the cap and even painted the chimney crown with some grey Flex Seal I had on hand to seal it until we replace it and the other two crowns when we sell our 35 year old home in the next year or two. Darrel did not want to charge me for the extra paint step but I compensated him anyway because he is an honest, knowledgeable businessman working to build his new business. He was flexible and accommodating with the scheduling. Price negations were also very professional and I feel like I god a great value for the work he has performed. The project was to prep a fireplace for installation of wood burning insert stove and involved grinding out of external face cracked mortar between bricks causing internal fireplace leakage. Darell comped pickup and delivery of the fireplace insert and installation from the total cost of the project. As he was performing the job he recognized that the upper condition of the mortar was in a better state, and did not need repairs, so he refrained from fixing what wasn't broken and lowered the cost of the job. Later on when called about some follow up questions he was very accommodating and provided plenty of his time to consult on operation and maintenance of an insert fireplace. He earned my trust to confidently reach out to him for any further fireplace upkeep questions.
