The first day, I walked in and one of the staff was yelling at the kids like it was military school. The next week, another parent took my daughters shoes home, and my daughter was sent home without shoes. No apology. Multiple times my daughter came home with dirty underwear (as if they didn't wipe her butt) and a horrible red rash. Of the next couple of months, my daughter started becoming reluctant of going to school. Came to the point that every time we would leave to go there, she would start crying and saying she didn't like that school. I talked to her main care taker as well as wrote another email to the director of her behavior. There was no response from the director and one of the staff said she would try to help. A month ago they made my daughter eat lunch and spend half the day with a different class, none of which was brought to my knowledge till my daughter kept crying saying she didn't want to go to the 'big side'. I wrote yet another email to the director and she didn't apologize for anything. Just basically said that it was close to her moving. Every time I went to that school, the director was in her office, didn't bother to greet anyone, when I did see her in passing she acted stuck up. The directors set the tone of their staff, and it reflected horribly here. My daughter isn't the only one who would throw a tantrum in being dropped off either. When I gave my notice, the directors assistant was there and all she asked was if I was caught up in my payments. No apology or asking if something was wrong. Even wrote an email to the director and nothing... now my daughter goes to a new daycare, one week in and she LOVES it, every time we leave she says she likes it and gives them al hugs. Our son is in the Pre-K class with Miss Amy and Miss Amanda, and they are both incredibly sweet, patient, and genuinely invested in the kids. One thing that really stands out about Kinder-Magic is how much they prioritize the emotional wellbeing of each child as well as the classroom community. The teachers are very intentional about helping the kids feel safe, supported, and confident. Our son also attends the afternoon supplemental classes, where he may be with Miss Amy, Miss Amanda, Miss P, or Miss Bernadette, and he adores them all. Every teacher we've encountered has been warm, thoughtful, and clearly loves what they do. After trying a few other places before this, it's such a relief to finally feel like we found the right fit. Our son comes home happy and excited to tell us about his day, which says everything. We're so grateful we found Kinder-Magic. If you're looking for a nurturing, thoughtful preschool or kindergarten in the CDA area, this place is truly magic.

They focus on play-based learning so there is lots of extra time to play outside and do "centers" inside, which are stations for playing. Kindergarten had plenty of academics as well to balance the play, and they taught Bible as well which I loved. They also offered extra curricular classes like Science and Art Club as well as Gymnastics--all during the school day. I didn't realize my daughter was going to learn Spanish too, which was a nice surprise! We loved Mrs. Cece and Ms. Susan for Kinder! The staff is very loving and caring under Mrs. Donna's leadership.

They even gave me a print out on proper instructions on how to do Corporal punishment. I'm against spanking. If you want your child to be physically restrained and grabbed when he or she is acting out then go here. We hired a professional behavioral specialist to monitor both the teachers and my son while going to the school, she was only allowed to go twice before they expelled him. I ask what are you hiding. They said that they were trained in behavioral Issues in children. My hired professional behavioral Specialist went to this school she stated none of the staff implemented or used any professional tactics against children with behavioral issues. In fact using any forms of violence against children who have behavioral and possible mental illnesses spark and trigger Children to react. We asked all the staff to please not put their hands on our child and they continued all the way up until the day that they expelled him. We are not saying our son is perfect. And we would have never taken our son to the school if they were not trained in behavioral corrections for troubled children. Our son has gotten worse since going here. Beware of the teachers grabbing and forcing children to mind. My son just turned 5.
