He was having tantrums at school, but we were working with Pumpkin Patch and the Wheeler Clinic, and we're assured by Pumpkin Patch, even up to a week before his expulsion, that he was not in danger of dismissal. With the benefit of hindsight, and connecting with other parents and organizations that have had similar experiences with Pumpkin Patch, I now realize it was the center's inconsistency, constant changing of staff, and complete lack of structure that was contributing to his behavior. Regardless, the expulsion and the way they handled it was completely inappropriate, and damaging to my 3-year-old, and my other child (age 5 at the time) who was also no longer going to be able to attend. After talking to Child First, we learned that Pumpkin Patch has a reputation for dismissing children they don't like without warning. Do better for your kids. My (now 4-year-old) son is now at an *accredited* school across town, and thriving. There are always trained teachers on staff, and he's been having nothing but good days. The longer he's been out of Pumpkin Patch, the better he's done, and the less I've worried about there being something wrong with him or his behavior. Pumpkin Patch was simply a bad school. For both my children. Even my older son talks about being yelled at constantly by the staff. When we enrolled, there were many trained adult staff, but by the time we left, my kids were being watched by 17/18-year-old children who had no idea how to handle a small child, and who were unable to not take his behavior personally. This new school has revealed that it was 100% the environment, and not a defective child. I always got bad vibes from Pumpkin Patch, and wish I had listened. It smells terrible, looks dingy and dirty, and the director, Christine, is one of the fakest, most two-faced people I have known. You can feel it just talking to her. Please look harder for a daycare.

We have been attending pumpkin patch for about 6 months. At the end of July we were notified that…read moreour child was exposed to Covid, we followed protocols and got tested and unfortunately it was positive. We stayed home in quarantine for 10 days before returning and unfortunately got sick again (I do not blame the center for illness kids get sick). We return to daycare after another 2 weeks home to a new teacher which we were not informed of which was upsetting for both us and the child. After the Covid outbreak we were told by the director that the staff would begin taking temperature checks of those entering the faculty upon our return this was not done. I called the director to express my concerns with the lack of communication regarding staffing changes and temperature checks as she is not there during drop off. Two days after our conversation I get an email stating that we are no longer enrolled effective same day. This is not an appropriate way to handle situations. Main Issues: High employee turnover Lack of communication with parents

The owner seemed to be to invested in the lives of my grandchildren's parents. The reason why I say this is, because she would always ask questions about them and as a professional daycare owner, she should be reframing herself from those type of questions, because it's irrelevant. So, long story short the owner is upset, because my 1 1/2 year old was coming home literally with black eyes with a scratch like scar in the middle of the bruise like 1 week apart from each other. The first week it was the right eye and then I asked her what happened and her response was " I spoke to your husband already". Then she decided to respond to my question with he fell! and hit his eye with a toy and that accidence happen". Then the next following week the same exact bruise appeared on his left eye and her response was "he tripped over the rug". So, I then express my concerns to the DCF worker and she then calls me being very confrontational and stating that she is terminating the contract, because she said, that I complained about my grandchildren not being safe in her home, mind you she already got paid C4K for the two boys. I should add the pictures I took of my grandsons eyes just a week apart from each other, but I won't. The daycare provider for one needs to hire more workers to help out with the children in order to avoid them from getting hurt. She also needs to be more professional when dealing with the parents. Secondly, I never ever dealt with a daycare facility, that would say no to the parents better yet a DCF worker, that it's not okay to pick up there child when she receives, that phone call like really, that's just very bizarre and unprofessional. At the end of the day I am so glad, that the children are no longer under her care. I was always against home daycare and I was proven right. I can go on and on, but I said what I needed to say. I would like for everyone to really look into the places, that you choose to bring your children to, because your children are under there care for at least 8 hours a day, and because our children's safety should be our #1 main priority. Pay attention to your gut if it feels wrong then it's wrong.
