The teachers and directors were always super sweet to us. But when my younger son was 2 years old the school had no idea how to handle age appropriate negative behaviors. Some 2 year olds can be challenging but instead of trying to help, they instead tried everything to get us to leave the school and transfer him out. I would pick him up every day and his diaper and pants would be soaked and I would ask "how come no one changed him?" And consistently I would get the answer "he refused." Ummm a 2 year old refused to change their diaper and you are ok with that? Same thing with food. He would not be given his lunch but everything was thrown out daily. Their attitude towards us changed completely. No more sweet, helpful teachers and directors. It was just a very uncaring situation when a child becomes a little challenging. But if your child follows all their rules and never gives any problem (like my older one), they will do fine. We switched my younger one to Joni's down the street (I was hesitant because the building was older and cramped and I hadn't known much about that school). But I am so thankful for the switch. He did amazing and he thrived there with their love.

When we had to leave (for personal reasons,) we cried, my daughter cried and her teachers cried. The teachers here genuinely love and care for your kids. The director and the teachers truly love their job. Prior to Covid, I was able to come into the center and nurse my baby. I saw firsthand how well the infant teachers handled their kids. My toddler son is learning so much at the discovery preschool level, much more than I would have been able to expose him to. It truly is like a play based school before school. Only cons are high teacher turnover, but this is common in other daycares from what I hear.

Watching their growth over the past few years has been truly incredible, particularly under their current teachers Ms. Lia and Ms. Kiara. They have absolutely flourished in this setting and genuinely love going every single day. All of the teachers are exceptionally strong, skilled, and caring. Not only in terms of learning, but the love my girls receive from every single teacher is nothing short of fantastic. They are deeply invested in each child's development and well-being. The skill building that happens here is impressive, with a wide range of creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities that keep the children excited and wanting to participate. My girls come home daily with another project that they created at school and the sense of pride on their face is amazing. Over the past year especially, we have seen many positive changes that have made an already great program even better. Communication, organization, and programming have all improved drastically with the director, Ms. Allison. Check-in and drop-off are seamless and stress-free on the school's end, which makes a huge difference for us. My girls take forever to leave because they need to make sure they say goodbye to all the teachers and Ms. Allison. The car ride home is a flurry of stories about what they learned and how great their day was. Even the school itself is impeccably clean and well maintained, which gives us so much peace of mind. Above all, it's clear how much the staff truly care about each and every child that enters through their front door. We feel incredibly grateful to have found a place where our daughters are safe, happy, challenged, and so well loved. We highly recommend this daycare to any family looking for an outstanding experience.

I would not recommend The Learning Experience in Newington. Our experience there was extremely…read moredisappointing and concerning as a parent. The overall environment lacked professionalism and respect. Several staff members were disrespectful when communicating with both parents and children, which is unacceptable in a place that is supposed to support young kids. It often felt like concerns were brushed off rather than taken seriously. One of the biggest issues was the lack of supervision. Teachers were frequently on their phones instead of actively watching the children. In a daycare setting, supervision should always be the top priority, and it was alarming to see how often this seemed to be ignored. Unfortunately, the leadership from the director did not improve these issues. A daycare director should model professionalism and ensure a safe and respectful environment, but that did not seem to be happening. Some of the concerns included: * Allowing teachers to be on their phones while supervising children * Failing to ensure proper supervision in classrooms * Not addressing staff behavior when it is unprofessional or disrespectful * Dismissing or minimizing parent concerns instead of investigating them * Poor communication with families * Lack of accountability for staff actions * Creating an environment where staff do not appear to be held to high standards A daycare director should be actively ensuring that children are safe, staff are attentive, and parents feel comfortable raising concerns. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Parents trust childcare centers with the most important thing in their lives, their children. Professionalism, supervision, and respectful communication should be the bare minimum, and sadly those expectations were not met in our experience.

Within my daughters last year I found out I was pregnant and informed everyone that I would be interested in placing my newest baby into the infant program. Fast forward to my new baby being born, i applied in September and Lyndsey verbally said that I would be all set to join in December. I emailed in late October to ensure that she was still all set to start on December 2nd, Lyndsey then tells me in email that shes very sorry but theres no December spot but my daughter will be able to start April 20th. Due to not having a great experience with the prior conversation I called Wednesday 3/5/25 to see if we were still able to start 4/20/25 I spoke with whomever is covering Lyndsey on maternity leave and she said she knows nothing of it and would call me back. I did not get a call back. I then called 3/6/25 and spoke with Michelle (the director) who has informed me AGAIN that my baby does NOT have a spot in the infant program because the spot that was open was taken by a child of a newly hired employee. When I had IN WRITING that my daughter would be able to start on 4/20/25. This is a HUGE inconvience to not only me but my family who have been juggling trying to work and watch my daughter so I can also work. I then asked Michelle about recieving my $75 back that I paid in advance with Lyndsey because she assured me that I was all set TWICE. Michelle then emails me and says I will only be refunded $50 of my $75 because of a non-refundable application fee. When my money wouldnt have been wasted if my spot wasnt taken OR if Lyndsey would do her job correctly. I am VERY sorry that Lyndsey is the face of this organization as far as whom the parents have to speak with regularly and being the first person they meet when applying. She has cause not only me but my entire family a great deal of trouble. She is grossly incompetitent. I reached out to the CEO, Jay of this organization and notified him by email of all of this to which he replied asking for my contact information to speak with me verbally. He has never called me. I'm relieved to know my daughter now wont be going here. If they cant maintain the employees performing basic daily tasks correctly how can i ensure my infants safety within this school.

We have been with BAL for a few years now and I could not imagine sending them anywhere else. They are up to date on current practices and are constantly learning more to provide the best for my kids. We toured a couple places in the area and this one was quickly at the top of our list for many reasons. First - the staff. When it comes down to it, you want to make sure your kids are happy, healthy, and safe. The teachers are so warm, kind, and gentle. They were willing to work with our existing schedules while also providing tips. Second - the environment. We loved that the infant room wasn't harshly bright and there wasn't any over stimulating toys. The school focused on a Montessori approach that my oldest is absolutely thriving with. Third - the responsiveness. You're are never left waiting. The teachers and staff are so quick to reply and implement. It's such a wonderful feeling to know they are on top of things. Any questions, whether it's about your child's sleep or you have something related to finance, they make you a top priority.
