The studio is clean and comfortable. It gets hot in Tucson in the summer but the AC and fans in here keep it cool enough. The reformers are in great shape as well as all of the equipment. It's very high quality stuff that feels sturdy when you're moving around on it. Marissa is an excellent instructor. She'll kick your butt in the best way. I also appreciate that she provides different levels of modifications depending on what you're comfortable with and there's no shaming if you choose not to do the more challenging version of a move. She's incredibly supportive and her positive energy makes me genuinely look forward to class. Highly recommend In Balance Pilates!!! I used to attend barre classes regularly and more than 80% of the class was at THE BARRE (10% warm-up and 10% abs on the floor). The class I attended here was more of 60%. My friends who had attended a few weeks before said the same thing. This was just one class. Maybe there are others classes or even other instructors that are more barre intensive. But my expectation was not met in that regard especially for a specialty class with that namesake. I would go again to try another class. I did fee like I got a good workout and the instruction was fine overall.

It often felt like we were bumping into walls or each other, which made it hard to enjoy the session. I took a Mat Pilates class, and it was much hotter than I expected. I understand the studio also offers hot yoga, but I wasn't expecting that level of heat for Pilates. I'd suggest either limiting class sizes or making it clearer which classes are heated. It's affordable, which is a plus, but I'm not sure I'd return.
