This company's communication came out to repair a lift recliner chair. The technician, a very nice man, reported that the problem was a wire under the chair. He claimed to have repaired the wire and fixed the chair. I paid him $125. The next morning, when the chair was used again, it once again failed to decline after lifting. I called the company back and reported the chair was not fixed. They got back to me two days later. Then they requested more pictures of the chair in order to schedule a technician to return. I sent them immediately via email. I also told them via email, voicemail & text that it was the Control Box under the chair and to have the technician bring a control box on his vehicle. The company never acknowledged this information. And the technician did NOT have a control box with him when he showed up a week later. Once there, he reported it was indeed the control box and he now had to order the part which could take up to two weeks to receive and 2-4 weeks to come back and install it. AND he wanted to charge me an additional $185 for the part. Their rate for a diagnostic is supposed to be $50. I paid $125 already. And 2-4 weeks? This chair is my mom's only chair and it still doesn't work. Wtf did I pay for? So...instead of fixing the chair, I decided not to. Why sink over $300 into an old chair when a new chair is less than $500? That makes no sense. This company's customer service is non-existent. They don't answer their phone and everything is robotic about the experience. While the technician was nice enough, he did not do the job correctly and preferred to argue when I called him out on it. I maintain that I will not use them again.

They were quick with a response through Yelp and even followed up with me directly before reaching out to my grandmother. Not only were they thorough in explaining the estimate and repair process, they followed up multiple times to try and schedule an appointment -- only wish grandma would have put in her hearing aids a little sooner to answer their calls! Ultimately, she decided that purchasing a new vinyl recliner might be more frugal but is looking forward to having them come out and repair a leather recliner once she's got her new furniture delivered. The work (which he didn't finish) was sloppy, his communication was terrible, and his behavior honestly unprofessional. I brought him a vintage lamp whose plastic domes had been damaged; two the tops needed to be repaired and smoothed out to match the other two undamaged domes and so they could be properly screwed in. We assessed the lamp together, in person and in detail, and he said he could fix it. Weeks went by: after multiple attempts to contact him I finally got an update picture. He had merely slopped putty on the top of the domes, matching them neither in color or material, and addressing exactly zero of the issues we'd discussed. He claimed the work was 80% done. I pushed back and said we were not on the same page and asked for a written explanation of how he was going to proceed to achieve the results we'd discussed. After trying to reach him for days, he announced "this turned out to be a headache and I don't like it." I went to go collect the domes; he had ruined both of them. This place is a complete joke.

Although it's not that expensive of a piece ($500ish), CB2 no longer makes it in red, and I was very sad at the thought of it being ruined. I emailed every wood repair vendor on Yelp, and Victor was the most professional in his reply and seemed the most confident that it could be fixed. I dropped it off on a Saturday afternoon, and he said that it might take 2-3 weeks to fix. Amazingly, he fixed it within one week, and the work was FLAWLESS. I literally can't tell that it was ever scratched and the fire-engine red color was matched perfectly. He showed me around his shop, and it seems that he is equally capable of fixing modern furniture pieces like mine as he is fixing antiques from the 1800s. He is kind, professional, and does great work. I highly recommend him!
