Actually if Jesus returned and said, "Hey maybe no full time carpenter this time around, maybe I'll take it easy and just frame art" - then that's who'd Dennis would be bc that's the qualitative level of his work. And what's better is he prices his work like CRAZY EDDIE - his prices are just INSANE - it's almost like getting it done for FREE! I had 5 copies of an 8x10 that I wanted to frame and give as gifts. I live in Red Hook so I went to the closest - "Make a Frame" over on Atlantic Avenue in Cobble hill - who priced me at $174.00 for just one - and no discount on five!!! At those prices maybe they do have Jesus framing, but some how I doubt it. So searched Yelp again and found Brooklyn Art who priced me at $20.00 each!!!! INSANE! Why would I pay $154.00 more - on each one! - over at M.A.F.? I doubt there would've been that much of a qualitative difference noticeable to the eye. Just take a look at the pic I've attached - a beautiful job! I got all 5 done for $100. Great quality and turn around was just as insane. Dennis had done in just a few days. I'm sure Van Gogh would give his left ear, if he still had it, to have his works framed at Brooklyn Art - and you should too, but Dennis only takes cash & credit cards so the good news is you can walk out with both your ears, however if you go to that place on Atlantic avenue it could cost you and arm and leg - HEY OH!

We came looking for items to use for a holiday craft activity for our kids and we were overwhelmed by the variety of items on display. We had priced most of what we'd purchased on Amazon, and the prices really were comparable. There is nothing like seeing the items in person to gauge whether or not they are really what you need (several things we had ordered on Amazon actually ended up not being usable upon receipt). I recently dropped into this store looking for fabric to cover my RV cushions. I had visited…read morenumerous places and could not find anything that pleased me. Much to my surprise as this is not a large store, I found lovely fabric and some of it was outdoor quality. I brought two different materials that complemented each other. Parking for the shop is rough even when I was there at 10:30am so you'll probably have to park far or you can take mass transit so you won't have to worry about parking. As I entered the compact store it was luckily empty (I hate crowded stores). I wasn't greeted or anything which was odd but, I found Angel near the back end corner of the store too busy with something else and didn't pay me any mind. I doubt he even knew I was there until I asked him where cotton-spandex fabric would be. So the customer service was lacking. A great thing was there was A LOT of fabric to choose from, but I do wish he would take some time to label and organize the fabrics. It will not only be easier to look for certain fabrics but will look a lot more cleaner and professional! The prices were so/so and I ended up finding a thicker black wool-spandex fabric for 15 bucks a yard because I couldn't find what I wanted, 2 spools of black thread, and 2 zippers. In the end, I would say I'll go back because of a good and diverse selection but a little organization goes a long way! I'm sure next time I'll find some great fabrics.

You can get a coffee and a treat and sit in the back and just enjoy the beautiful greenery. You don't even feel like you're in the city anymore, this yard transports you to a different place and time. The people are so friendly, so customer service is also nice. I haven't been here for an event but I'm told they host yoga, chess game nights and Gay Ridge events. I plan on checking those out soon. For an afternoon espresso, brownie, and nice outdoor space, this hits the spot.

One star is too much…read more I'm very dissatisfied with my experience here I purchased a set of balloons here as a present. It was way overpriced. I was given one price but the employee. While I waited for the order to be completed, the owners came in and gave me a different (higher) price saying that the employee wasn't aware. The wait time for my order (just a few balloons) was 20 min and then another 10 minutes to figure out how to accept my credit card payment. They messed up my order by giving a different design on the base (than what was originally discussed) and some of the balloons looked old and peeling (decoration). The owners were rude. The only reason why i even took the order is because I was in a rush. Otherwise, I would never have taken or paid for the order I received. Never again will I come back here nor recommend it.

The question is never IF you'll find something, but how you'll decide between the many options. Because you WILL find what you're seeking and much more. The Bookmark also has one of the BEST curated classics sections anywhere. There are cards and gifts, but these items don't overwhelm the space - as we have seen happen in the bigger chain stores. But what also sets this shop apart is the incredible staff. Owner Christine has created a team of friendly, professional people that make an already great place even better. This place is one of my happy places and I hope you'll give it the chance to be yours too.
