My kids have been going to the preschool program there since they were 2 and 3 yo. The main campus also offers Summer Camp and a Saturday morning language & other school program(s) & culture introduction that have been really helpful for adults and children. They also have annual carnival where they set up kids' activities with vendors and other parent-led supports as a fundraiser. There are semester-end performances/parties. It is a big commitment to go to Chinatown area since we live about 30-50mn away depending on the traffic, but having my children to be completely bilingual and appreciating Eastern culture would be a priority to us... it's worth it

We look forward to attending the new ICC Mandarin Immersion Elementary School that is opening Fall 2024!

Not to mention, there's actual curriculum. They communicate about what students are learning and even assign 'homework' from time to time! The classes aren't crowded and the staff is experienced and gentle. I knew my son was going to be ok when he was fussy but reached for his teacher to pick him up. He's not a reacher lol. She held him and 10 seconds later, that frown was upside down. Every parent wants their child to be loved and respected by others. That's exactly what we found here at MPP. I thank God that we found this place.

My daughter is now in her 4th year at St. Thomas - and over those years I have come to know several…read moreof the faculty and parents, including the headmaster, Michael Cusack. They truly have my respect, not only as teachers.. but as thinkers, innovators, and leaders in education. The curriculum is challenging and encourages an understanding of the liberal arts and sciences, balanced by the values of forgiveness, love, and understanding deeply rooted in Christian belief systems. Their Scottish Arts program is unbelievable to see and I am constantly amazed at the artistic abilities of the students who have been encouraged over the years by the school. My daughter, who deals with sensory issues that affect her learning, has always been treated with the utmost respect and has been encouraged to embrace new ideas while being challenged by proven methods of teaching that instill an understanding of the world around her while teaching her to effectively communicate those ideas. I am not an alumni and I was only aware of the school through long time friends. But, having faced the challenges of the current public school system with our oldest child, my wife and I came to believe that a private school was our only acceptable option for our youngest child (and any future children). We explored several private schools in Houston and decided on St. Thomas' based on a tour of the school and talking with faculty and others who knew of or had experienced the school. Also, I believe that the tuition is quite reasonable compared with other private schools in Houston that we considered. We intend to keep our 8 year old at St. Thomas' through 12th grade and we plan to send our 3 year old there as well when she reaches school age. I would also encourage any parents considering a private school education to meet with Mr. Cusack and the faculty and see it for yourself. I believe that you will like what you see.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Ms. Elena Morales and Smaller Scholars Montessori Academy !…read more Our son has been at the school since he was just 18 months old, and this place has truly become a second home for our family. As he now prepares to start elementary here, we reflect with deep gratitude on the impact Ms. Elena has had on his journey. Ms. Elena's dedication, warmth, and the thoughtful application of Montessori principles have been transformational. Thanks to her care and guidance, our son is not only well-prepared to start Elementary but he has also grown into a more confident, independent, and kind-hearted little boy. She has nurtured his curiosity, encouraged his growth, and helped shape the values he will carry with him into this next chapter. Thank you Smaller Scholars for everything you've done for our son and to Ms Elena for all the children lucky enough to be in your classroom. -- The Iannone Family

We were worried and didn't know where to turn. From day one, Ms. Jessi and the entire staff were incredible. They worked patiently with him while also equipping us with valuable resources and guidance to support him at home. I especially appreciate that The Mays School brings excellent therapists directly onto campus, so my son received consistent help without the stress of driving to multiple appointments. Ms. Jessi's deep knowledge of neurodiversity has been invaluable. She not only helped my son thrive during his time at The Mays School, but also guided us in finding the right next school to continue his growth. The owner is currently doing so to silence me at this very moment. That's why they have nothing but 5 stars. In my opinion, the owner is unstable and encourages a cult like toxic environment. What they don't want you to know is the school is not accredited and is not Montessori. They are not associated with Montessori in any shape or form. They claim to be inspired by Montessori. In my opinion, not a lot of learning happens here, let alone Montessori inspired teaching. To give you an example, my daughter was writing letters in sand at an age where she should have started learning phonetics and started reading. Once I figured out that she wasn't learning anything I quickly started looking for a new preschool. In the meantime my daughter was being spit on daily by another child. I addressed this with the teacher many times with no avail. I told the mother of the child and because of that my child was expelled. Yes, that was my offense. In the time it took me to go get my child (this was the middle of the day when they expelled my 4 year old) they treated her so horrifically that she developed panic attacks. It took months for her to recover mentally. I know of other people who have had similar experiences. The cult like environment is so intense that they bully anyone who leaves the school or writes anything negative about this school. I would not recommend anyone to attend this school.
