I don't write reviews often, but this one has been weighing on me especially because my son still has a visible injury on his face from his time at KinderCare. As a first-time mom, enrolling my 3-month-old son at KinderCare was a big decision. Initially, I felt reassured and supported, especially by Ms. Brittany and Ms. Shanisha. They were compassionate, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about my son's well-being. Anytime concerns arose, they addressed them quickly and professionally. I honestly felt my son was in good hands at first. But things changed. My son's father once witnessed a teacher being rough with him at just 10 months old. We were told it was handled, but it shook our trust. Later, my son came home with a bruise on his face after a vague "incident" that was never clearly explained. I tried to meet with the director, Ms. Martha, and she canceled without following up. No accountability, no real care. I eventually withdrew my son, and no one from leadership even asked why. There are NO CAMERAS (even though we request), no strong curriculum, and it's VERY expensive for the lack of oversight. I'm only giving 2.5 stars because of Ms.Judi, Ms. Brittany and Ms. Shanisha they truly cared. Without them, this place isn't somewhere I'd recommend or trust again. read more

We started Kindercare about 6 years ago and loved it. All the teachers were amazing! However, a new director started about a year and a half ago. My first daughter went through pre K there and she learned so much. The teacher was awesome. When my second daughter went through pre K last year with the new director, they went through at least 3 teachers in just one year for just that classroom. She didn't learn anything and this year is vital before starting kindergarten. They also did not have a pre K graduation which made me very upset. When I asked why they said it was because Kindercare as a company was waiting until end of summer. I then see on Kindercare Facebook page that other locations had graduations. I learned later that my location did not make sales goal and they hoped by doing this parents would keep their kids in through the summer. A few months ago, they forgot to pick up my oldest from elementary school one day. I wasn't even upset until the school called me and said the person they spoke to on the phone at the Kindercare was very rude. And it turned out to be the director. When I asked her about it she always gets very defensive and blames other teaches/admin. She never takes responisbilty for anything. I also know that in the past year a child was cutting her hair at the daycare, another child fell off a table and had to be taken to the emergency room. It's hot in Houston and they have children eating lunch outside in 90+ degree weather. I know my friend's daughter had a sweater on that day because it's cold in the building and they didnt take it off when she went outside. Yes, complaints have been made to the district manager but nothing has changed in the last year. I finally made the decision to pull my children out of Kindercare and a few of the friends that I referred are also pulling their children out as well. read more

My currently 15-month-old daughter is very happy at Brimhurst KinderCare! Finding a good daycare for your baby can feel difficult, but the systems and procedures in place at this location makes it feel dependable and reliable. She started in Infant Room A as a 5-month-old, and even though she was a wary baby in the beginning, Ms. Irazema and Ms. Afsaneh (who now teaches in Infant Room C) were so kind and patient with our cranky babe. She is now in Infant Room C with Ms. Afsaneh and Ms. Holly, and she loves them both. Tiffany, the current director, and Maggie, the assistant director, are also sweet and accommodating to our children and the families (for example, I am still breastfeeding our toddler, and they have created a comfortable nursing area for moms in Ms. Maggie's office). You will often see them involved in the day to day activities and calling the children by their names, and it is very heartening to see. read more

Our son started in the infant A room October 2019. We toured the Goddard School, 5 Star Montessori, and La Petite in the area. We chose Brimhurst ultimately because of the clean environment, friendly atmosphere, and a parent we met in the lobby who raved about how happy her 2 children were there. Once we started, we were a little uneasy because staff seemed to be different day to day. We eventually learned who the regulars are, and they are fabulous. There has been much more staff consistency in the last couple months. He's now 7 months old and his face lights up when any of his staff greet him at the door. I've never worried he's not getting loved on at Brimhurst. read more

This is one the best from our experience, conveniently located in the energy corridor...!! We enrolled our DD in this daycare when she was 1.5, all the teachers are freaking awesome, my kid had an amazing time. She did not complain going to this facility, she loves all the teachers there in her class and others as well. I have to give a shout out to Ms Yolanda, Ms Ana, Ms Ludy, Ms Shasta, Ms Diana..etc a lot of name that I'm forgetting but they are all great with kids. read more

We had our daughter, Hadley, at this Kindercare the day I went back to work from maternity leave. At that time, the director was Holly (and we just adored her). We had our daughter there from 3 months (Infant A classroom) to about 1 year (Toddler A). Unfortunately, I was laid off and we no longer can bring her there. However, I wish almost every day I could! Not because I don't want to spend time with my daughter, but because it was a wonderful experience for her. She benefited from great education, wonderful teachers, and socialization. She learned independence from me, and to be comfortable around others outside of the home. I loved the structure, the fun, and the creativity, and I know she did, too. On several occasions our son was bitten by at least one other child. The first incident occurred in November of 2020 they claimed it was a different child than the one who bit him from December to January. They allowed our child to get bitten by the same child multiple times. I continuously asked what steps had been taken to prevent the behavior. The daycare director had requested I give her a week to figure it out which I mistakenly did. I regret doing that and subjecting my child to that. In hindsight, I really do think she was trying to help, but put our child in more danger. The teachers claimed that the incidents kept happening when they didn't notice. They also said they didn't notice that my child was getting bit because he doesn't scream. Out of frustration I kept asking for my child or the other child to be removed from the situation. I was then told that I was demanding something they couldn't do. At that point I contacted corporate who put us in contact with the regional manager. She made me feel heard and moved the other child to a different room. We received incident reports as I'm sure the other parents did, but I wish a structure was in place where if a child bites there are a certain steps that are taken to help parents correct that behavior. Maybe even if within a month the child has not corrected the behavior, they have to be removed. Our current daycare has a policy like this. Our child had been enrolled in the center since he was four months old for almost two years. This place felt like home. I trusted his teachers blindly especially in the middle of a pandemic where we can't go in and see what is happening. I wish I had acted sooner. I did fill out a police report and placed a complaint with the city. I hope that the situation that happened with our child doesn't happen with other children and that the center learns from this. After the regional manager rectified the situation I still felt uncomfortable and decided to pull my son. read more

My grandson started KinderCare in the Infant A room a month ago. We are thoroughly impressed with Claudia, Irazema and Maria who all care for him as if he were their own. They are always smiling and seem to have endless energy as well as great advice. We love this center! The teachers and staff are wonderful. We enrolled my daughter when she was 10 weeks old. She was a preemie and extremely small (8lbs) when she started at the center. The teachers in the infant room were outstanding with her. She is currently in the Toddler classroom. She loves going to school and really likes her teachers. My children have been going here for years. The director has been very unprofessional. Most of the time she makes it obvious she's tired of my complaining. The front is very chaotic, there always seems to be so many workers up front but many children crammed in a class because "shortage of teachers". I always see that my children are not in their classrooms. Always being pushed to different classes, never being able to find their bags or items. Items going missing. The only thing I like is the teachers are friendly and my children have made many friends. read more

I am so grateful and elated to have been able to enroll my 28 month old son in their program! His teacher's Miss Dee and Miss Diana have been absolutely fabulous to deal with! They are not only compassionate to ALL the children's needs but also to mine aswell as a parent. Communication is wonderful and I love their new curriculum! I also owe a huge thank you to the management, from the time I called their center to everyday I have dropped off my son, I am greeted warmly and by name. Sadly our time with them is only for a short period, however; if we return to this city and my son is still of age, I will enroll him in this program again. It was my 18 month old daughters first experience being away from me. I couldn't have asked for a better place. I was nervous but Holly and her staff made us feel very comfortable. The teachers were great and loving. Wonderful experience. My daughter misses and talks about the teachers often. I always wanted my kids to go to Kindercare Centers, as I considered them as one of the BEST child care centers. My kid started with the Infant room, that was a good experience, then my kid moved to the 1 Year old room, Teachers: Miss Afsenah and Miss Yolanda are the BEST BEST BEST. You know you kid is being taken care by a caring nurturing person, and your mind is at ease when you are at work. There is Miss Holly too who is new to the place but really tries her best to do a good job. Then came a day when my kid had to move to the two year old room, I dreaded sending my baby to a different room as there would be some other teachers there. And as expected it turned out to be an extremely disappointing experience. There are three teachers: Miss Diana: Very very disappointing, not very cordial to parents, is never really interested in what the kids are doing. Completely unfit to take care of two year olds. She should be working with the older kids, where can just sit the whole day and doesn't have to do much for the kids as they can keep themselves busy. Miss Paige: I hardly ever see her interacting with the kids, always sitting away and the kids just play with toys or among themselves. She is a real waste as a kids care taker. Miss D: She is the only hope for the Two year old room. The only teacher who is approachable and who listens to your concerns. My kid also spent a couple weeks with Miss Ludy and she would be a best replacement for Miss Diana. Kids really love Miss Ludy. There are some other concerns, The kids are always dirty, running noses, food all over the face. Never clean. Just last week I have seen a parent of a little Boy with running nose and dirty face complaining to Diana, and Diana didn't seem very guilty about that. And the daily sheet is sometimes not filled and not given that day but given in next few days. And there were instances when my kid was picked up early(without prior notice ) but the sheet would be filled for the full day with diaper changes at 2.30, 4.30 . When I actually pick my kid up at 1 PM. How can the teachers randomly just fill, the diaper was wet at 2.30 and dry at 4.30 before it is done. Where is the Reliability in the sheet they gove us...? We are paying 250 a week for an excellent service not just babysitting. There are group of parents whom we met at play-dates, who are planning to move all the kids as a group to the Goddard School which is pretty close to the area. Really would like the management to do something and take care of this issue. -- read more

Before I started taking my daughter to kindercare I couldn't get anything done around the house. She had a lot of trouble in the beginning considering she'd never had anyone else look after her. She would cry when I'd drop her off or pick her up and she would even refuse her meals. It tore me up but i knew i had to stick with it. After all someones gotta pay the bills! Her teachers had such patience with her and they tried every different way they could think of to work with her so that she would feel comfortable and hopefully start eating. It WORKED! After about a week and a half she started opening up. Started eating. And would even play with other kids and clap along to songs. When I'd come to pick her up my favorite thing was to spy on her for a lil bit before actually letting her see me. I got a kick out of watching her laugh, bounce around and act silly! She even stopped crying when I'd drop her off and pick her up. Shes learned how to be more dependent and play on her own. And not to mention I can now get stuff done around the house!! I myself was a KinderCare kid and I loved it. I even remember my favorite teacher was Miss Patricia. I will never forget her and can still picture her face clear as day. This KinderCare Learning center is the BEST!! And the teachers communicate very well with what's going on in the classroom. There's absolutely no other place I'd feel comfortable taking my child. read more

I have toured this center many times. I have worked with licensing for over 12 years so I know about childcare. At first the new director was nice but she did not seem to know what she was doing as if she never worked for a daycare before. There was so many children crammed into a classroom. Some even looked too old to be with the younger ones. My job changed and I wasn't able to let my children attend here. I managed to get a better job two years later and I toured again with the same director. She struggled with telling me information I needed and somehow kept changing the subject. I see that the children like her though she kept taking children out of their classrooms whenever she felt like it and thats not okay. When I was lead into the toddler room which I know my ratios, I glanced at the cubbies that had their birthdays and the poor woman had nine children and most that weren't 18 months so I know she should not be having more than 5. She handled the children really well though. You could tell they really admired her. I even managed to tour during nap time and they managed to have the twos sleeping in the toddler class as well but so were the children less than 18 months and I know that's definitely not allowed. I wouldn't want my 16 month old crammed in a small room with older kids for nap time. I'm surprised licensing hasn't caught them. I will not be coming back to this location. I tried giving them many chances. read more

My children have attended this location for years. One even graduated and went to first grade and would still get picked up for after school care. I was amazed at how loving their teachers were but disappointed in management. I love Ms. Patty, Ms. Holly, Ms. Rhianna, Ms. Maggie and Ms. Diana. Though I was sad to hear ms. Maggie left for a better opportunity, she helped me a lot when she became assistant director but then it seemed to fall apart after she left. As well as Ms. Diana who was phenomenal with my children. Every birthday she made them an incredible giant hand drawn picture of what characters my children liked at the time and I still have them up on my children's wall. Her classroom was always beautiful and my children never wanted to go home. She was even nice enough to babysit for me when I needed it. I was disappointed to hear she was let go for something so minor. One of my children also loved ms. Patty and he always called out her name wherever we went out as if looking for her. She is so kind and it warms my heart how she treats my child with so much love. It was great for a long time but now that most of the people we stayed there for are gone it's not the same. I have 2 daughters that have both been going to KinderCare since about 8 weeks old and the oldest is now 3.5. They love going everyday. All of the teachers are amazing. It makes it really easy for me to get done what I need to get done and not have to worry about my girls being taken care of. We have had almost every teacher there at some point and there isn't one that I wouldn't trust taking care of my kids. I can't say enough good things about this place. My son has been attending this location for nearly 8 months now. He started in infant room A and is now in infant room C. All of his teachers have been so loving and caring. It was very difficult for me to be away from him at first, but it makes me so happy to see how much he enjoys his teachers and his little baby friends now. He has a blast at school! Ms. Yolanda, Ms. Afsaneh, Ms. LeAnne, Ms. Holly, and Ms. Rihanna have all been so wonderful. I was also very pleasantly surprised with how quickly the directors learned my name and that they greet me by name each day. They know all of the children so well and are great at communicating. I really feel like they know my son well and truly treat him with affection. read more

As a first-time parent, I was very concerned about sending my daughter to the right daycare. We visited a couple of schools in the area, but after speaking with the Center Director (Sarah) and the Assistant Center Director (Holly), my husband and I were completely sold. The first initial weeks were very rough, our daughter was about 6.5 months old when she started and was very attached to me. She cried every day at drop off. It is very disheartening as a parent to hear your baby cry and you have to leave them there not knowing how they are doing throughout the day. However, the people at the center were always very open and encouraged me to call or drop in whenever I wanted to check on my daughter. After the first couple of weeks, I saw a change. She stopped crying during dropoffs, she started to really open up, and I could tell that she really loved her teachers, and that they took really good care of her. She would be happily playing every time my husband went to pick her up. As she transitioned through the classes, there would always be an initial adjustment period as she got to know her new teachers, and there would be some crying at dropoff, but that never lasted long, and once she got used to it, she just loved going to see her teachers. I can tell that the teachers also get attached to the kids there, and they are all very caring. We eventually pulled our daughter out of the center, but with very very heavy hearts. And the only reason we did was because we moved to a different area and the center was too far away for us. Her teachers continue to ask about how she's doing and we still keep in touch with them. I would recommend this center to anybody. The management and teachers are always very engaged with the parents and they always try to do a good job. read more

I had a wonderful experience at the Infant A class. The teachers love the Infants in the class and are very caring. My kid was in Infant A until he was 9 months after which he moved to Infant B. And then to Infant C in 2 months. I don't have much good things to say about teachers of those classes. They r indifferent as compared to the adorable Infant A teachers. read more

My child started in the INFANT B classroom, then moved on to the TODDLER A classroom, and now is currently in the TODDLER B classroom. I would rate INFANT B 3 stars, TODDLER A 5 stars, and TODDLER B 3 and a half stars. INFANT B In INFANT B, the morning teachers were Miss Shaadi and Miss Marjaneh. The afternoon teachers were Miss Chidimma and Miss Shay. Initially I liked Miss Shaadi and Manjaneh but later I realized that they were not satisfying all of my requests for my child's needs. I don't believe they were honest on my child's daily sheet. For a while I had an odd feeling that some of the things written on my child's daily sheet were false then finally it was confirmed that I was correct. Every time I dropped my child off in the mornings my child would always cry. Whenever I would come visit and pop up on my child in the mornings, the teachers were not doing any curriculum that they were saying they did. Whenever I questioned them about why my child's needs aren't being satisfied or the mysterious bruises on my child, they always had an excuse. Miss Shaadi seemed to be the one making up the lies while Miss Marjaneh seemed to be the follower. I give Miss Shaadi and Marjaneh a 1 star as teachers. I absolutely loved Miss Shay and Miss Chidimma! These girls took good care of my child. Miss Shay was very informative especially when I needed her advice on how I should handle certain situations with my child and Miss Chidimma made sure she fulfilled all the needs of my child. They were both really honest and truthful to me. Every time I came to pick up my child, my child never wanted to leave. Whenever I would make my pop up visits in the afternoon, they always had a fun activity where my child was actively engaged and actually learning. I give Miss Shay and Chidimma 5 stars as teachers. TODDLER A I absolutely LOVED the TODDLER A class. This has to be my child's BEST classroom. The morning teacher was Miss Deserai and the afternoon teacher was Miss Chidimma. Where do I begin with these two teachers? Miss Deserai is such a sweet girl. She has a soft spoken tone and is very kind. You can tell that she loves her job. She is a perfect candidate to work with children. My child loved her. My child never cried when dropped off to Miss Deserai. I was pleased to know that Miss Chidimma would be the afternoon teacher in TODDLER A, as I loved her while she was in INFANT B. Miss Chidimma is also such a good person. She's really caring, organized, and honest. Whenever things seemed to be going crazy or wrong she would be the perfect person to keep things on track. She listened to me and she made sure she accomplished my requests for my child. Of all the teachers, I would say Miss Chidimma was good on communicating with me about my child and my child's well beings. My child learned so much in this class. This is just a list of the few things my child learned; my child learned how to drink from a regular cup instead of a sippy cup. My child stopped using the pacifier (thank God they took my child off of that!). My child learned to eat using a spoon. My child learned how to wash hands. My child learned how to say a few words and the routines of the classroom. My child really learned a lot and I could tell that my child enjoyed learning too. These two teachers got my child interested in books at such an early age. And they also always made sure my child was neat and clean. Miss Chidimma always had a fresh diaper change for my child before I picked my child up. During lunch Miss Deserai made sure my child was well fed and would give my child a second plate of food if my child was still hungry. Miss Chidimma would also make sure my child had food to eat before I picked my child up. The children are only supposed to have one afternoon snack but she gave my child and the rest of the children an addition snack later on during the day. I really appreciate these two teachers and what they've done for my baby! TODDLER B The teachers for TODDLER B are Miss Holly and Miss Paige. I really like Miss Holly. She is really nice and soft spoken. I see she has a curriculum ready for the kids everyday which I love. Miss Paige is okay. I like that she talks to the kids and asks the kids open-ended questions. Although she's kind of loud and a little obnoxious. I don't like that they put my child back on the pacifier. The teachers in TODDLER A took my child completely off the pacifier and now my child is back on it unfortunately. Some times when I walk in the class it seems so messy like everything is everywhere. It seems to be overwhelming for these teachers. It seems to me that Miss Holly is trying to do 100 things at once and Miss Paige is just sitting there. I don't really see team work from the teachers in this class. I believe Kindercare has a lot of good things to offer, but it depends on the proper teachers to implement it. read more

Ask me before Harvey,,, I would've given it 5 stars (and more if possible). Every since Westlake staff moved to Brimhurst location, the amazing teachers have left/are leaving. One staff member in particular....I don't like her attitude, the way she speaks to the kids, cleans on the other side of the room while 2 year olds are at a table playing (running around), leaves scissors and pens out, doesn't want to save breakfast for kids who show up after 8:30 (even though before Westlake moved, saving breakfast for kids who show up after 8:30 was never a problem as long as you called and let them know you were running late), and I could go on. I've asked this specific teacher if my child slept one day (because it wasn't written on the daily report), she exhaled loudly and said someone else didn't do their job writing it on the report. 1. Why would you tell a parent that? 2. There's obviously some drama going on if she's blaming someone else instead of just apologizing. There was never any drama (at least that I could see/sense) before Ms. Marilyn started working there. The director and assistant director have left and at least 4, 5 or more good teachers have left (most haven't been communicated with the parents). I haven't switched daycares (yet) because I have hope Westlake management and staff will leave soon and, most of all, my child has grown up with these kids/friends. I'd hate to move my child away from them. There is no stability for the kids, there are different teachers in their classroom every morning; therefore, my child is uncomfortable going to class in the morning seeing unfamiliar faces. The turnover in the past 3 months is higher than I've seen in 2 years since my child started daycare here. read more
