For starters, there were several times during my appointment where a staff member(s) would either 1) stand by the person doing my nails and talk to them specifically without acknowledging my presence and/or 2) stare at me from a distance with other staff members. Additionally, I noticed other customers staring at me as well. Nothing wrong with the stares perhaps; at the same time, there is a difference between looking at someone briefly and staring someone down. Again, I received "stares." All in all, I would say the "vibe" from a third person perspective (specifically, my perspective) was othering. The only reason I left a one star review is because the person who did my nails was excellent at doing their job. As someone who enjoys getting their nails done, I am very well versed in acrylic nails and what I like in them. So the person (Noah) was meticulous and patient. I enjoyed that. Additionally, I really love the finished product - I did not provide a picture because I want to make sure my words are acknowledged first and foremost. I would not recommend this business to anyone who is similar to my identity: Black, queer, neurodivergent, or (such as myself) ALL the above.
