This place is bad…read more First of all, it is right next to PCH and directly under the flight path of airplanes taking off from SNA. Being next to PCH at this location is HORRIBLE. The super cars and motor cycles rev their engines at ALL HOURS OF THE day. IT IS LOUD. Sleeping, or just relaxing in peace and quiet, is super difficult at ALL HOURS OF THE DAY. Secondly, the airplanes from SNA are held on the runway until 7 AM, ironically to "prevent" noise. So basically at 7 AM all these waiting airplanes are cleared for takeoff and the airplanes are then taking off and flying directly over the property every 5 minutes from 7 AM until 9 AM. DO NOT PLAN ON SLEEPING PAST 7 AM. There is absolutely no noise insulation at the building. It's freaking miserable. This includes weekends. Secondly and related to the first point, it is right next to PCH... so the filth of PCH is constantly being kicked up by the traffic and it coats your car AND balcony. If you open your windows or balcony door at all, expect this nasty stuff to find its way into your apartment. Health hazard for sure. GET AN AIR PURIFIER, but that won't solve the problem if you choose to have the balcony door open. Thirdly, there is no air conditioning system at all. Newport is super hot and humid in the summers now, so expect to have ALL YOUR windows open at night to try to get some kind of breeze through the building... and then of course you have PCH and the flight plan to deal with - not so pleasant sound situation with all your windows open! You have to choose the lesser of two evils. Nightmare! Fourthly, the pool is generally pretty filthy. I think they clean it once a month or so. Debris and nastiness all over the place. I stopped swimming in it. Gross. Fifthly, the units are rife with black mold. This condition is commonly known throughout Newport. Horrible for your health. See photo. It would also pop up in my kitchen ... basically anywhere there is water. Be prepared to constantly clean mold. Disgusting! Sixthly, constant turn over in the management office. No clue what is going on there, but people constantly quitting and they have to hire new people. I think the reason for this is that owners are super sketchy too. Super odd old couple - they're not nice people. Will require a MTM lease and boot you w/o any explanation and only a 30 day notice whenever they choose, happened to several tenants, which can obviously cause real problems! Many nicer places to stay in Newport and Orange County than this at a similar price point. Look elsewhere.

There is always plenty of parking. Since several of the units are used as second homes, it is extremely quiet and very private which is a plus. The property management, maintenance team, and owners are wonderful to work with and very responsive and friendly. I highly recommend this location, when units come available.

I spoke with Jesse who immediately told me that he could take me in the next day and would jump on the repair ASAP. Well, ASAP really meant ASAP! I dropped the boat off yesterday around 11am, and Jesse called me today around 4pm to let me know that the new shaft seal was in and that the boat was already back in the water! I am beyond surprised and pleased at how quickly they were able to help me out. Jesse could not have been more kind and friendly and he could not have made the entire experience easier or any better from my perspective. I would HIGHLY recommend Newport Harbor Shipyard and be sure to say hello to Jesse and let him know that you read my review on Yelp! These guys 100% deserve 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!! Thank you!!!

Recently took the boat out of the water for a marine survey and of course the bottom paint is so bad that includes air bubbles on all the metal with no primer and the entire work needs to be redone. Not only I paid him again to cover his own work yet was not done right. Of course I had to deal with Jessie's attitude and him pointing finger at the diver which he has 20 plus year of experience of cleaning boats. Avoid this place

There is a security access to get into the parking lot as well as a coded key to get to my boat. The restrooms are awesome. They are clean and well stocked. There are showers with hot water......(Some only have cold in other marinas). The restrooms are clean and neat. The docks have 24 hour manned security that watch the parking lot and the boats. Each of the slips have shore power and an extra storage bin for items that you want to store there. 24 hour access makes this one a plus. I can get to my boat anytime and any day of the week without problems. All of the people I have met on my dock are friendly and courteous. The staff that cleans the docks are friendly too. There are monthly wine and cheese tastings and they are open to anyone that I chose to bring with me. I highly recommend this marina to anyone who wants a safe place for their boat as I have found for mine.

Shoreline Village has so many restaurants to enjoy, nearby mall, Farris wheel, a wonderful aquarium, and so much more. Restrooms are clean, and trash bins could be emptied more often since this marina is run by the city. Maybe less homeless would pick through it. We won't be returning due to the garbage in the SEA, which can get caught in a boat prop; then who's responsible? We were very disappointed there isn't a service boat that cleans it up for boat residents and tourists, an embarrassment for the city of Long Beach, I'd say.
