I just went back for the first time in 2/3 years. The business is under new ownership and management. The key words here is "New Management". Looks like they are keeping pricing competitive with online stores on your big items. I will be back. I would say anyone that had a problem before should try again and then write a review of there experience. read more

I walked in looking for help as a complete amateur. The young man got me the parts I needed and even gave me some options based on price. I am most impressed because I was not treated like a moron. I was taught how to put things together and how to maintain them. I will not be afraid to go back if I need more help. They earned a repeat customer today. read more

GREAT shop and they do repairs quickly and correctly! The new ownership team is friendly and always helpful. I'm a complete beginner with RC trucks and they always take their time explaining everything to me. Some of the shop guys race and they are expert mechanics. These guys sold an 11yr old boy a used monster truck at xmas time. The glow plug was nasty, the inside of the motor was nasty, the truck would not run once the motor got to about 140 degrees, the filter stone in the fuel cell moves every time you hit a bump. I returned to the store for a new glow plug, and they hand me one with a longer thread on it. I ask if it will matter with the size difference, and I am made to feel like an idiot saying they looked the same to him. I get home with it, and sure enough, 1 more thread than the old one. Central Rc Hobbies is no place to be humble. It was a early in the morning and I had a parts list, I left for any hobby shop that could provide me with a Brushless Outrunner to modify. After discovering that the Hobbie shop @ The Grand Prairie Mall had closed I used google to discover a hobby shop nearby named, "Central Rc Hobbies". It was 11:10 a.m. and the shop was filled with loitering patrons. After a few minutes, I was greeted by a clerk who asked how he could help me.Upon presenting my request, the clerk informed me that they did not have the Brushless Outrunner, ESC, and LiPo Battery that I desired; insisting that the parts I wanted were already in the Dromida Ominus, and that it would cost me much more to separately buy these parts online . Prior to my arrival I had seen the prices of these parts, they would cost more than the Dromida Ominus. I purchased the Ominus & left for home to download the schematics & begin dis-assembly. After downloading the schematics, I discovered that the parts I desired were in-fact not assembled within the Dromida Ominus. At the time that I arrived at Central Rc Hobbies to return the Dromida Ominus I was informed that could not return the Dromida; I had flown the quad & their policy (albeit a policy that CRH definitely did not advertise prior), is that they could buy it back used for $20. To recap, I came to Central Rc Hobbies for a battery & motor, was sold a quad, and was unable to return it. The parts I wanted would've been accessed easier online, and with less hassle (multiple times spent explaining why I wanted these parts)& (upon my return) a "go f**k yourself"-kind-of vibe. Oh, did I forget to mention that not only was the quad $10-$20 cheaper online ( http://dromida.com/air/dide01xx-ominus/index.html ), I'm assuming the rest of the lot is the same, I was lead to believe that they beat the online prices..lol. Their website boasts,"We specialize in stuffs like electronic speed controllers, lipo batteries and charger, brushless motors, servos and digital servos..", yet upon my arrival I was unable to purchase these things individually, why? Since this event, I've honestly considered sitting outside of the establishment and warning others of what they too could possibly experience @ CRH. If you find yourself looking for these parts as I did, then DO NOT wander into Central Rc Hobbies. You're better off shopping online or calling ahead to any hobby store. As a total beginner who didn't know an rc car from a rail car, I was intimidated to even step in the door sounding as stupid and clueless as I'm sure I did. I actually wanted advise on buying a used one on Craigslist. I walked out of there much more educated and beyond impressed with the time and knowledge they were willing to share with me. Kind of restored my faith in humanity and customer service, lol, because they really care about helping the customer. Prices after checking them online seem right on par and very reasonable, but the face time you get with this cozy and personable store is priceless. Small place but huge experience if your into the hobby. I walked out of there not buying anything, but I wish I had just because they were so awesome. Bought my used one off of CL, and was much more equipped with knowledge to make the purchase without knowing what I was looking at. Also knew what to look for. I returned to the store with my purchase to have them check it out and tell me what they thought. Again, spent a ton of time with me and shared a lot of useful info and dos and donts. Hadn't even bout anything at this point and they did this for free. After this, I purchased an extra battery for my (new to me) slash and promised to return for any parts and service I'll need in the future. This store is run the right way and is a refreshing place to visit. A+. read more

This little hobby shop is AWESOME. The guys are friendly and very knowledgeable. Always has been and always will be my go to place for my rc hobby needs. Definitely a huge improvement over the previous owner. THERE IS ACTUALLY STUFF IN STOCK NOW LOL. If by chance they don't have the parts I need they order them and as long as their in stock they arrive at the shop in a couple days. I am really disappointed with the staff there, they make poor suggestions, instead of taking the time to figure out what you need by looking it up, they say they know the answer, recommend a purchase, when you get home and realize what they sold you is now a paper weight because they won't return it. Crappy customer service, this is what killed the last owner, looks like they are heading down the same path. They also talked me into buying a truck, said, they stock all the parts, that it was the next great thing. 1 month later they no longer sell the truck and parts are already limited, just tricked me into buying their crap. These guys are either jerks or just a prime example of inferior customer service. They won't even apologize for wasting your money or time, tried to support a local company, but why waste your time and gas. Buy online most of the big stores have a little quality control and customer service, not 2 slackies, and a part time owner. read more

They sell some good vehicles, but there backend support is terrible, their price matchine is a joke, they don't, when they sell you the wrong part or screw something up, they don't make it right, just offer you 10% off your next purchase so you hope they can get it right the second time. Sure they might save you on a couple bucks for shipping since they order in quantities, but your gas and time are worth something, so don't waste either of them going here! You can be talking to one of them, trying to spend around 3-4 hundred $$$ in their store, and a buddy of theirs walks in and they brush you off like you don't matter. I have bought a few vehicles there but I am done, to much frustration. They also offer trade in deals on motors and esc, where it is suppose to give you a discount with the trade, hello, if you buy motor/esc combo online they are already as cheap as the ones here and you keep your existing equipment.
