As longtime fans of Selena, this was a stop we had been looking forward to, and it did not disappoint. Admission was only $5 per person, which was an incredible value for the experience. Upon arrival, we waited in the front area until our group was escorted inside. The tour began in Selena's recording studio, where we learned more about her life, career, and legacy through displays and information provided throughout the space. There were plenty of great photo opportunities, and it was amazing to see so many pieces of Selena's history preserved. After the studio portion, we were escorted into the museum itself. Photography was allowed, but video recording was not. Everything was kept in pristine condition, and the employees were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about sharing Selena's story. Of course, no visit would be complete without stopping by the gift shop. It was larger than we expected and stocked with a wide variety of merchandise for fans. We definitely didn't leave empty-handed and walked out with a pretty good-sized bag of souvenirs. We spent about an hour exploring everything the museum had to offer, and it was time well spent. Whether you're a lifelong Selena fan or simply interested in learning more about her impact on music and culture, this is a must-visit stop when you're in Corpus Christi. A wonderful tribute to an unforgettable artist. Anything for Selenas!

The museum does an incredible job showcasing Selena's life and legacy. It's packed with authentic, collectible pieces--her iconic outfits, personal items, and career achievements are all beautifully displayed. You even get to see the actual recording studio where she worked, along with her piano, drums, and her stunning Porsche Targa on display. Seeing all of this in person was truly special and meaningful. This visit definitely felt like paying my respects to a legend. The gift shop is great as well--I picked up a vinyl before leaving, and they also have plenty of shirts and memorabilia. The staff was excellent, the museum itself is clean and well maintained, and the overall ambiance and service were fantastic. I absolutely loved my visit and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area--especially fans of Selena.

Not to mention, the views of the harbor are insane, and they have a lovely pool to enjoy as well. We started with a round of drinks, which are served promptly and with a generous pour. I had the Manhattan and she had the bloody mary. Both were excellent. Along with that we ordered queso, which arrived promptly with a generous portion of chips. For mains we ordered the fresh, local black drum, pan fried, with meuniere sauce and she ordered the fresh, local flounder, prepared in the same style. Fish can be tricky to cook, but they pulled it off with perfection. Both arrived with a side of rice and asparagus, steamed to perfection. Alas, we were too stuffed to partake in dessert, although all of the offerings looked wonderful!

The menu and specials change regularly as fish comes in and out of season. They are able to customize dishes, which must be challenging for the kitchen, but you can get your food exactly how you want it. I always order the red snapper, and I can have it grilled, pan fried, baked, breaded, you name it. I like to add some crab and add a sauce. The desserts are great, with some creative alcoholic drinks if you wish to partake. It is relaxing to sit on the water and watch the boats come and go. The dining room is expansive, and there are private rooms you can reserve if you need privacy or quiet. The Yacht Club, being a private club, is not inexpensive, but it is worth it!

The restorations that were in progress and those completed on the flight deck. On the flight deck, there is so many great planes to see and read about. On the aft of the flight deck, we saw an arrow and stairs to the arresting gear room that had the arresting equipment. (how they stop the landing aircraft within a few hundred feet). It was a wonderful little area that I think many miss. When you climb back out, you're right back on the landing deck. You can the. Go,to,the pilot house. There was also a 3D air carrier movie that was absolutely amazing! Well worth admission to see this part of history!

I came here for Smithsonian Museum Day, where admission is FREE!! The museum opened up its galleries for the public and had demonstrations, displays and events going on! The downstairs area consists of the main galleries and the gift shop. I felt that the prices at the gift shop were quite reasonable if you're in the need for Asian stuff for the home to feng shui is up, or for some jade jewelry. The design of the museum was quite interesting, with a neat walkway that is reminiscent of the Royal Palace in Seoul to the Korean wing, and windows that look out on samurai statues and bamboo gardens! It's quite idyllic. The museum had all kinds of cool, interesting things to check out. While we were there, a docent was giving a talk on Asian weapons! Hiiiiya! Upstairs is accessible with an elevator, and has a library and a doll collection from Japan. Apparently, the founder of the museum was a lady from the area who was retired, loved to travel, and struck it rich with oil. She continued to travel, buying cool stuff she came across, and writing journals about her experience. The upstairs library has all of her writings on catalog, which range from intricate details about mundane aspects of her trip, to in-depth looks at culture and fashion. The collection of Japanese dolls she amassed is quite impressive. A docent was happy to walk us through the collection, pointing out the highlights and significance of the collection. My favorite was the Japanese doll of Richard Nixon! Sock it to Me!!! Parking was easy, and the museum is located amid a bunch of other local attractions, making it a cool quick stop to scope out the culture!

In a few simple words, THIS PLACE IS FREAKING AWESOME. We went around 7PM on a Sunday evening and were surprised at home busy the park actually was. Literally hundreds of people in the playground area. There's also a skateboarding park which was fun and entertaining to watch. They had two separate ice-cream trucks which was refreshing. There's also a pier walking out into the ocean which was really nice. There's a huge open green field, lots of picnic tables in the shade, and just so many awesome families enjoying being outside on the beach. This was definitely a highlight of our vacation - the location is just to die for and you get to enjoy the beautiful ocean and the breeze while your kiddos run around the playground. It can't be beat! :)
