The Selena Museum was nothing short of amazing. Growing up listening to her music and later watching her story brought to life in the J.Lo movie, visiting the Selena Museum was a must while I was in Corpus Christi, Texas. The museum does an incredible job showcasing Selena's life and legacy. It's packed with authentic, collectible pieces--her iconic outfits, personal items, and career achievements are all beautifully displayed. You even get to see the actual recording studio where she worked, along with her piano, drums, and her stunning Porsche Targa on display. Seeing all of this in person was truly special and meaningful. This visit definitely felt like paying my respects to a legend. The gift shop is great as well--I picked up a vinyl before leaving, and they also have plenty of shirts and memorabilia. The staff was excellent, the museum itself is clean and well maintained, and the overall ambiance and service were fantastic. While visiting Corpus Christi I had forgotten that Selena was from here. So we made sure to visit her museum. It wasn't very far from our hotel. Man was it worth the trip. What a well done tribute to an amazing artist! The staff and tour guide were so friendly and welcoming. Our guide did a great job explaining everything and made the experience wonderful. Everything is perfectly displayed to enjoy as you walk through the museum. They also have a wonderful gift shop. We splurged for our kids. This is a must see if you're a fan of Selena! read more

If you're not a Selena fan, we can't be friends. Seriously. Growing up, my friends and teammates always had a Selena song to sing. When we walked into the museum on the morning of May 28, 2025, we were immediately put into a group tour. The family grouped with us had children that had to use the restroom which was clear on the other side, so they missed the tour with us and a man who was on the chatty side. The tour, however, was short and sweet. It was maybe 10 minutes, but our guide was super down-to-earth and opened up for questions at the end. Then we were led down the long hallway to the museum where many of her dresses, awards, photos, fan art, and even her Porsche were all on display. Restroom was clean. Admission: Ages 2 & Up: $5.00 Ages 1 & Under - FREE Closed Saturday & Sunday. Free parking. Of course, there were some improvements that could be made, but the Selena Museum was still worth the trip. I'll never understand why she had to go, but I sure am glad she was around for the time she was to bless us with her voice, fashion, and amazing personality. read more

While driving home, I made a stop at the Selena Museum. It's worth noting that it was raining that day, and couldn't see the cone indicated that the parking lot was full which it was far back. Once I entered, the sheriff mentioned that I should have seen the sign, albeit in a somewhat hostile tone, and instructed me to park across the street. Upon entering, visitors pay $10 per person for the tour, during which they're advised not to record or use flash photography. The atmosphere inside is very welcoming. There are numerous photos of Selena and her group. Once inside, you can see the studio where she recorded seven songs. You're then taken to another room where you can see the Grammy Awards she won, as well as her car. There are also sketched drawings of her clothing designs, letters from around the world, dolls of her in the outfits she wore, and a video of her last performance at the Houston Rodeo. What Graceland is to Elvis Presley lovers, this museum is to any diehard Selena fan, like myself. My family and I were staying in San Antonio for a few days and we decided to take a 2-hour drive to Corpus Christi. It's a straight shot there and we had no traffic. This museum is right off the freeway and easy to find. The parking lot can fit about 20 cars, but if it's packed, than you'll have no choice but to go elsewhere. It's open Monday through Friday and it closes at 4pm. It's a $5 charge for adults to enter and I believe $3 for children. You'll wait in a living room type of area before you are escorted into the museum. This place is still an operating recording studio, so there are people walking about in the background and business it is still being conducted- gotta be respectful. The tours are offered in both English and Spanish. There are also restrooms available, if needed. This place is wall-to-wall purple carpet with lovely photographs, memorabilia and the best part, all of Selena's wonderful outfits. There's also a gift shop, which mainly consists of T-shirts, but I didn't mind that so much. It was a dream just for me to be there. We ended up seeing Selena's sister, Suzette Quintanilla, as she was conducting business in the museum, but we didn't want to disturb her by asking her for a photograph. It just so happened, we ran into Suzette later on during the day while we were having lunch. She was happy to oblige us with our photo request. I had read mixed reviews about how she treats the fans that come to see the museum, but I thought she was approachable and relatively down to earth. read more

Selena Museum is a Must See! We made it a point to stop and visit the Selena Museum while on our drive from Houston to the Rio Grande Valley. Firstly, I have to say hands down to all musicians, artists, truck drivers, and anyone else that drive to deliver a show anywhere in the U.S. because a small road trip in the State of Texas can be a hit or miss. Luckily for me, my husband is a great sidekick LOL. The property is very easy to find. You CANNOT miss it ! If you do, get back on our Waiz or google app to help you. I Make sure you pay attention to hours of operation and give yourself enough time to take it all in. We were told that we were there at the right time because it was not peak season, so it was nice to be able to take our time and walk through all these memories. If I could spend hours there however, I would have. We were able experience a piece of music in the making through the music studio and go through memory lane as we walked through and saw a lot of her awards, wardrobe, and personal belongings. Just being there brought back so many so many specific memories of listening to her and the band on the radio. I just loved it. There is a fan giftshop to buy some merch. I recommend the T shirts that note the actual Museum along with some of the new wardrobe that came out. I specifically purchased her cap with her Iconic Signature along with the new bomber jacket to sport on our trip back to Vegas. We even bought her Dad;s book that came out ! My husband and I specifically had a bonus upon arrival as we realized we met Mr. Abraham Quintanilla himself ! We had a great conversation and he even noted that he used to perform at a place down in Pharr, TX. When I made it down to the valley, I asked my family if they remembered the place, he told me about and they immediately chatted away some great memories of their own! Wow, just AMAZING! It's just magical how the Quintanilla Family is connected to all of us! I can see why her family working together to keep this Legacy going. Bravo ! read more

I went to this Museum because I'm a FAN and I TRAVELED just to go see it! First off it doesn't really stand out and I was like "ok I guess" it's just whatever from the outside. When I went we didn't really get good or bad customer service all we heard was like "just wait there I'll get you in soon" by someone wearing like saggy clothes and I couldn't tell if it was a worker or not before that. When we when in we just heard someone say "how many? Ok 5 each" then we kinda just awkwardly walked in After we went in it was a small room with so many people we couldn't even walk around to see the pictures. (I felt like we were sardines) we were all watching videos on a smalllllll tv and I mean smalllll with reallly poor audio! Then we went to her recording studio! It was cute! They persevered it the way it was when she was alive but it was super hot especially with so manly people in one room! They had 3 $25 dollar fans around the room that didn't do much help! Finally we walked past this hallway and got to the good stuff! We saw some of her clothes and her pictures and her shoes and a really cool car! This was the better part of it, but had some random Cumbia king stuff (it felt like an advertisement to them) and her egg collection and her jewelry! It was super nice!!! It was small, but seeing her costumes and personal belongings made you feel how special she was and how beautiful she was! Then we get to the gift shop..... let's just say all The clothes was super cheap I've seen better stuff at goodwills! It kinda felt like with the first wash the pictures would wash off and shrink. So disappointing! I wanted to buy some stuff for memories, but nothing was really worth buying... I bought some pencils. That was the nicest thing that they had. It's like if they spent the littlest amount of money added Selena's name on it and hoped it would sell because they're using her name! Over all it was ok. It was fun to see all her stuff! I heard that the family members are the ones that take care of this place, I would have thought if they're doing something for Selena they would put more love and effort into it. This museum, which is still an active recording studio, was so magical to be able to walk through. It costs $5 to get into (cash or card), and is well worth every single penny and then some. It is a smaller museum, but any true Selena lover can really feel her presence in this place. To walk where Selena walked, to see where she recorded her last album, to see her actual outfits and how teeny her little waist was- it was all magical. Everyone who worked here clearly had and has a love and respect for Selena, which was really beautiful to see and experience. I see people have written negative reviews about seeing Señor Quintanilla and/or Suzette and they refuse pictures- this is their place of business where they still actively work, so if you see them, leave them be (no one comes to try to take your picture while you're at work without your permission, do they?). This is a beautiful place and an exceptional tribute to La Reyna, and I am so grateful to have experienced this in my current lifetime. Wow, Amazing. Never thought I would see the day.... It finally happened. I was on vacation in Texas, and my mom being born and raised in Corpus, we took a drive to Q Productions to check out the museum. Pricing was only $5 per person, and there was 6 of us. The entrance is small, and kind of tight when you are in there with 30 other people. But no complaints on my end for that. The young lady giving us the tour and the speech in the recording studio was really nice. I appreciate the information she gave us about the Selena and the recording studio. We walked inside, to the museum part, and we saw all of Selena's things. I was amazed at how everything was so beautifully preserved. I turn a corner, and who do I see? Mr. Abraham Quintanilla himself! In the flesh! Him and my mom lived on the same street growing up, so he had a nice conversation with her about it, and even stood up to come get closer to us. Really nice guy. I understand some people saying he's rude and a jerk, but remember, he's been through alot. He's still in pain, even after all these years. Parking is very tricky. Once you step inside and pay the $5 admission fee you only wait a bit before being let in. Take cash because the day I went their system was down and didn't accept credit cards. As of June 2021 they are still requiring you to wear a mask. There's lots to see. You can take all the pictures you want. Nobody is rushing you out if you want to take your time and really look at everything. It gets crowded and the flow of people is constant. I wish their gift shop had more to offer. 90% of the shop was just a bunch of t shirts. read more

My notes from the tour: Recorded "Dreaming of you" only English album here. She used to travel to record. In '92 they started building this so she could stay closer to home. They had to tweak the room 3 times - they had adjust to make it pitch perfect for her voice. After her passing other artists used it to record. The movie scene where they filmed it was actually here. We arrived at 11am on a Friday and there wasn't parking so we had to park on the street and cross to get inside. They have security/cops stop traffic to let you cross. The Selena museum is a unique place. All original pieces that belonged to Selena Quintanilla. It's only $5 per person (cash/card) and they give a short background on the studio that is now the museum. They take you to a big room where you can see photos, items, letters, drawings, articles and more. There is no time limit you can be there. They also have a gift shop. It's worth going to the statue and visiting her gravesite afterwards. Definitely a recommended experience. read more

Really awesome Museum. Staff was super friendly, price was great ($5 per person and 2 under free). The museum took 45 minutes. It's a small exhibit but everything is authentic. They even have you start in a recording room where Selena recorded her last couple of songs. My 2 and 4 year old seemed to enjoy it as well (especially my daughter who loved all of the beautiful outfits). I was worried it might be too much for the kids, but it was not! I can't believe it's been almost two decades and probably more after you've read this that Selena was taken from the world. She was 23 and destined to crossover into the mainstream industry; emerging as a global superstar. Although she is gone her spirit lives on through her music and her fans. Some of whom have travelled far distances, as in a pilgrimage to visit here. Firstly what is seen here can be viewed in a matter of minutes. (Although I did see some people fixate on specific items the whole time I was here.) The Quintanilla Family has turned their studio into a loving tribute to her life. The place is really small itself. For a small fee of $3 for admission you wait until a guide escorts you along with a group into an introduction area. The first point of interest is the studio room in which she recorded one of her last songs, "Dreaming of you." Afterwards you are led into the main area filled wall and floor with Selena memorabilia: dresses, paintings, pictures, awards etc. I must admit I thought I was going to feel a sense of solemnity or sadness. Instead I felt a sense of pride, celebration. For example there are display cases that house her most iconic dresses, clothes. There was the outfit she wore in her video for "Amor Prohibido"; the dress in "No me queda mas." (Man, was she tinnie-tiny!) As in the introduction I wish there was a placard or some sort of explanation of some of the pieces here. I knew her greatest wish was to eventually become a fashion designer. However there were sketches(which she drew) of some of her designs without any sort of context? Did she have a hand or say in any of the fashions being created for her? I think hosting events where a family/band member explains pieces would paint a more complete picture of her as an artist. In addition I would strongly suggest that they consider moving this museum into a more bigger space. Some of the various pieces, portraits especially her outfits need room to breathe. In my opinion randomly grouping artifacts together disrupts the flow of the room. Instead rearranging items aesthetically will space it out better thus alleviating traffic. Her life like the exhibit is brief but her absence is still deeply felt. I understand why people flock here. Sure it gets crowded in here. There is not much parking. The gift shop is a cumbia moshpit. But everything here is real no replicas like Selena, also authentic. On the wall is a quote by her that says, "The Impossible is Possible!" The most imporant Yelp review I've ever written will be about this place, The Selena Museum. The place where you'll find anything and everything about our dearly beloved and departed Queen of Cumbia, Selena. On a trip to Houston I made a three hour trek over to Corpus Christi, the hometown of Selena, just to see the museum. Yes, I rented a car, drove three hours just to see the Selena Musuem. Bidi bidi bum bum. The museum costs three dollars to get in. Where does that money go? I have no clue. Presumably upkeep and general admin on the facility. Interestingly enough, the museum is held at Q Productions, the same facility/studio where Selena recorded her music, where she performed many live shows and where her family still does music production. The museum itself isn't that large. Selena's life was 23 years, but in those 23 years there was a lot of living done. In the halls were pictures and plaques and signage of her short career.So many new clippings and articles about her success in the local paper and national news hung up for display. Once you begin the tour you see the recording studio where she performed, which is the same studio they used for the movie, "Selena". Then you're taken down to see all of her memorabilia. Her dresses. Her Grammy award. Her microphone. Her fashion line drawings. Her egg collections. Everything Selena was there. All of her costumes were securily displayed in glass cases. The best part of the tour/museum is that her father Abraham was there! He actually took us around and showed us many aspects of their production company. He answered questions and talked about the longevity of Selena's legacy. It was an honor to be in his presence and I could see how honored he was that so many people are still honoring Selena's memory all these years later. I'm so happy I decided to make that drive out to little Corpus Christi to see the museum. Como la flor. This is definitely something for the biggest of Selena fans to see. We drove down from San Antonio, while visiting Texas from Florida, to visit this Museum. My Wife and Daughter ( my daughter named Selena, no coincidence) absolutely loved it here. The entrance fee is a real bargain at $3/person, and parking is free. The outside of the building says Q Productions, and the place is easy to miss. (I thought google maps had made a mistake!) We were lucky enough to have Selena's father invite a small group of us up to his recording studio for a Q & A, and to listen to some of the new music he is working on. Yes, he's a bit grumpy, and was "roasting" some of the people who asked foolish questions, but it was all in good fun. The prices in the gift shop are VERY fair, all things considered. We actually found Selena merchandise priced higher at other stores outside the museum. If you're a fan of Selena, and are in the area, we highly recommend visiting this museum. read more

Immediately was excited before walking into the building. My tour guide was amazing and she kept switching from English to Spanish. I understand some Spanish words she was saying. Very informative. With taking photos Mr. Abraham Quintanilla was in his office and I got the amazing opportunity to take a photo with him with COVID guidelines. I made him laugh and he is such a nice guy. One amazing experience! It's a MUST! From the moment you pull up to the parking lot, you will see Selena's tour buses (the old "Big Bertha" and the newer one) parked out there. It's a bittersweet feeling being in the museum. The tour starts off in the recording studio. You'll learn some fun facts of what actually took place in that recording studio. From there, you'll go into the museum area. Everything there is real! No replicas. You'll get to see some of the outfits she wore to her concerts, the Grammy's, her videos, etc. Other displayed things are her Porsche, her music awards, her personal items such as her cosmetics (makeup, perfume, etc.), jewelry, her mic that still has her lipstick on it, and so much more! You might even get to meet Selena's father, Mr. Quintanilla. We did! And he even took a picture with us! His office is there, and you will walk right by it as you're touring the museum.
