I would not recommend this motel, BLACK MOLD on the roof of the bathroom. The pool is filthy, graffiti all around the mirror and in the inside of the cabinets, spoiled old sandwich and icecream left inside the room's mini-refrigerator that smelled so bad it made me gag! The microwave was dirty and broken. The comforter on the bed was ripped, NO CABLE either and 50 CENTS FOR ICE. No amenities offered for the price of $90 on a weekday.

For the price range of this motel there are much better options in the city, that are more updated, and cleaner.

I recently captured a wedding here, and it is a premier choice for couples who want their wedding to feel elevated, modern, and distinct. What makes this venue so special for photography is the seamless blend of historic charm and high-end modern upgrades. The restoration is stunning--you get the soul of a historic property but with a polished, eclectic aesthetic that feels incredibly refreshing and fun to experience for your stay or guest experience. From the rich textures in the getting-ready room and bridal makeup suites, to the sun-soaked courtyard, their grand staircase for a private moment, along with their cocktail lounge, every corner is a curated backdrop that lends itself to a sophisticated and nostalgic environment. The event and venue team are true professionals who understand the flow of a high-end event, while balancing exceptional hospitality for wedding weekend stays. Their attention to detail allows the couple to remain present, which is essential for me to capture those raw, documentary moments and artistic, "in-between" shots during the wedding day. For engaged couples who view their wedding as a special investment, and want a venue that feels like a boutique editorial set that truly speaks for itself, The Richland is totally unmatched in Orange County. I'm already looking forward to my next wedding weekend here with another amazing couple!

I went to disneyland for my 30th birthday, I needed to print out the tickets and I was able to do it on the guest computer. I enjoyed my stay and it was a nice clean room. I liked that the motel was walking distance to the university and Bruxie. It was about a 15 minute walk and there are small coffee shops around as well as restaurants. My mom and I wanted to stay here again for my brother's graduation the following month, but it was sold out the weekend of the Chapman graduations.

Was able to get a AAA discount at almost the last minute. The staff was terrific, although when the housekeepers saw anyone coming, they ducked away. That wasn't cool. I wasn't even looking for them, just crossing over to the stairs to get to my room & they scurried like cockroaches in the light as soon as they saw me heading their way. (There is no elevator, btw, so if you cannot do stairs ask for the 1st floor.) The staff attendant at the breakfast was so fabulous. She was really interested in ensuring guests knew what was available and making recommendations when asked. I expected packaged bagels and Costco muffins, but it was a full, freshly cooked buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, toast, potatoes, etc. Or cereal, if you prefer. Very well done. The room was very clean & they even had a bedbug cover for the mattress, always nice to see. The only problem I had with the room was that the a/c needed to be kept at 66 & on 24/7 to cool the room to a reasonable temperature, but when I did that it worked. Part of the problem, I think, is that there is NO SHADE AT ALL, so the sun was blaring onto the a/c. Bring sunscreens for your car because it WILL get very hot. The parking lot is very well lit and felt completely safe. In the morning, I was transferring to a hotel on the Disneyland property, so I left the BW at about 7:30 a.m. -- rush hour and the drive was less than 20 minutes, no freeways necessary. So, great price, excellent location, terrific staff. Also it was an easy check-in and check-out & the manager who assisted was pretty much perfect. Would stay here again.

But the inside is spacious, nicely adorned, clean, with a fairly sensible layout/design. The check-in was pretty smooth, and the staff was very professional and engaging. The warm cookie is always a nice treat. There is a nice bar and restaurant within a few steps of the check-in area. No pun intended, but you should check it out. The drinks are on point, and the food doesn't taste like traditional hotel food. The wait staff there is very attentive and accommodating. There is a coffee shop in the lobby just as you enter the hotel. It's little pricey for what you get. I ordered a breakfast croissant. It was good, but again, pricey for what you get. The room was comfortable, cool, and clean. The 3 C's I typically look for when staying in a hotel. There is a decent work area. The bed was comfortable, and it had a nice-sized TV. The lamp outlet on the desk was a bit hard to find, and it's low on the lamp's base. Closet space is ok - standard. The shower had two conditioner pump bottles and one shampoo. There was no shower gel. Not a huge deal. I usually bring my own. There is a really nice outdoor space with varied seating. Some of the lounge-chair type seating have firepits. I forgot my swim trunks to get into the pool. But that's ok, there are usually too many kids in that type of area for me. I like a more chill, less noisy swim. The parking is tight. There is a small lot. About 1/4 of it is for valet. Although the valet team seemed pretty nice, I self parked my vehicle. There are some fast-food places nearby to eat if you aren't feeling the hotel food. And Best Buy is nearby if you attend an event and need some tech stuff. Oh yeah, and The Block at Orange is within walking distance if you need to do some real shopping, get something to eat, or just have some fun. Overall, it was a really good stay. I would revisit in the future. It was good value and service for the money. PROS * Good value * Nice, professional staff * Comfy rooms * Quick elevators * Nice decor * Pantry near check-in area * Good for meetings, seminars, conferences * Outdoor space * Tennis courts * Outdoor pool * Nearby food and shopping * Near the fwy CONS * Small parking lot * A lot of local traffic noise but it's not terrible * Room towels are a bit on the rough side * Could not remove the shower head and separate it from the docking port in the shower * Hurt my foot getting in the shower; the bottom area is a bit raised with metal trim. Just take your time and look down. You should be fine. * Commode flushes hard and loudly * The work desk is a bit small * The desk chair is heavier than most and has no wheels. It is hard to move easily.

Check in was smooth and I was offered free cookies upon check in. The room itself was ok. It was hard to get good lighting even with all the lights turned on. The tv wasn't working, and I wasn't in the mood with having someone come up to my room, so I just went without a tv the entire stay. The fitness center is on the 3rd floor. It doesn't have much, just free weights and cardio equipment. Early check in is accommodated as long as they have a room available. I wouldn't mind staying here again.

I liked that it was really easy (within walking distance) to get to Trader Joe's, many food options and the bus that goes straight to Disneyland. Check in and check out was relatively easy. They made me a bit nervous when they couldn't find my reservation while checking in and again when no one was at the desk to check me out, but I only waited a few minutes each time before things were sorted out. I don't think I've ever stayed in a place this run down; it definitely needs an upgrade. When I walked into my room, there was a pretty strong chemical odor. The decor is kind of haphazardly put together. The water pressure was pretty terrible, there were stains on the towels and sheets and there is a little gap in the doorframe, so you can hear eVerything that is happening outside. They also don't really provide adequate bedding. I was pretty cold at night with just a sheet and that thin brown blanket places like this use. Maybe it was the draft coming in from the door. I probably won't be staying here again. If you do stay here, there's a pretty good Vietnamese restaurant across the street.

They offered maintenance to come but it was already 10pm and everyone was already asleeped. We were so tired from a long drive from the bay area that we barely paid attention to the room on our first night. Next morning, I find my pajamas dirty with melted chocolate and later found M&Ms scattered around the edges the room. No one had brought candy on this trip by the way. Breakfast was okay. Incredibly long line and wait for the omelette station. I appreciated the app and the contact less check in and out process.

Hubby was not able to get good night's rest in the room but, I was able comfy and slept well. Also, the AC worked just fine. Enjoyed the morning breakfast and got there well before the big groups of guests did. The hot items were at a station and you have to inform the gal if you want eggs, sausage, and or hashbrowns. Cereal, bagels, toast, fruit, yogurt, juices, donuts and coffee was at self serve stations. Check out was easy and we returned our keys to the courteous front desk clerk. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. 4 stars.
