Very Professional and friendly. Her staft is friendly as well. I came way early, but they managed to fit me in. I had a ton of issues because I have been putting my own care off, like most women. If you are looking for a doctor that will not listen and completely dismisses their patients concerns, does not take the time to ask or read their patients basic lifestyle history, lacks professionalism and empathy, does not complete a thorough assessment of their patient, blindly prescribes medications and rushes the patient out of the office, Dr. Lynda Crawford his the right fit for you. I visited Dr. Lynda Crawford at the Advanced Dermatology center in Fort Washington, MD in June 2025. I arrived at my appointment at the scheduled time of 2pm and after waiting an hour and a half in the waiting room, I was finally called to the back at 3:30pm. Once in the exam room, the nurse never acknowledged or apologized for extremely long wait time nor thanked me for patience. The nurse just proceeded to ask me a series of questions regarding the reason for my visit. Completely vexed by my experience thus far and the lack of customer service and customer care, I answered the questions candidly to the best of my knowledge. After answering the questions, the nurse left the room, returning a short time later with Dr. Crawford. When Dr. Crawford entered the room, she again did not acknowledge, apologize or thank me for the extremely long wait. Instead, she walked in with a pen in one hand and two blank pieces for printer paper in the other hand asking me "What's going on"? Never introducing herself, verifying my name or DOB or even asking me a simple how was I doing...Dr. Crawford then proceeds to lecture me on why it is important to tell the nurse what is going on with me prior to her coming into the room and how the nurse was "just doing her job". At this point I am completely confused, blindsided and troubled by her unsettling "welcome" and lecture. I asked her to explain what she was talking about but she did not respond so I turned to address the nurse to confirm that I had answered all of her questions, when Dr. Crawford replies and says that I am acting like I don't want to be here. Despite my complete and utter disgust by Dr. Crawford's and the nurses' actions thus far, proceeded to explain my concerns to Dr. Crawford barely getting a complete sentence out before I was interrupted by her abruptly announcing a diagnosis. This was without completing a physical assessment and barley looking at the infected area, the paper and pen never left her hands. Dr. Crawford then writes the diagnosis on the paper and proceeds to list the medications Fluocinonide and Tacrolimus. The nurse then interjects by asking me to confirm if I was pregnant or planning to get pregnant after finally reading my intake paperwork. When I respond that I was planning, Dr. Crawford then says "Oh, I did know that, you cannot take Tacrolimus while pregnant". Confirming what I already knew, she never read my paperwork, nor asked me about my lifestyle history to make proper, more accurate diagnosis or treatment plan. I asked her were there any alternative medications in lieu of the Tacrolimus that are safe for pregnant or planning to be pregnant women and her flat response was no. So, she only wrote my prescription for Fluocinonide. To add insult to injury, after getting home and doing my own research. There are several alternatives Tacrolimus - so Dr. Crawford lied and furthermore it is Fluocinonide (not Tacrolimus) that is not recommended for pregnant women. read more

Dr Crawford was a breath of fresh air! She diagnosed my daughter's condition and gave us affordable medicine which cleared her rash in one week! This is after I had been to two other Dermatologists and spent over $300 on co-pays for medicine that did not work. When we came back for our follow up, she even offered to allow my daughter to shadow her in the office after she expressed an interest in medicine. I am so grateful she is our doctor. My visit to Dr. Crawford was for the purpose of my eczema flaring up on my eyelids and under my eyes, which was very painful. I must say that the young lady at the front desk was kind. Once I was taken back to the room, the assistant that proceeded to ask me questions was a bit cold. The doctor came in initially to get a box of tissues and didn't acknowledge me sitting there waiting on her, although she looked directly at me. I said hello to her as she was walking out, and she chose to say hi at that point. When she finally came into the exam room, she had a piece of paper that contained information about what eczema is. I have been dealing with eczema since before grade school, so at this stage in my life, I am very aware of what eczema is. As she is talking and not allowing me to get a word in, she barely looks at me and rushes through what she is going through on the paper. When I tried to explain something to her in reference to what I was experiencing, she let me know that she is not finished talking and that she will look at the area of concern when she is finished. When she finished her spill, she stood to look at my eye, but did not get close to me to get a good look. I also mentioned the breakout on my neck, and she didn't bother to look at that. She proceeds to point out on the piece of paper the soaps and lotions that I should use, and I tried telling her I was using those same products, but it didn't matter. She proceeded to go through some medicines that she would prescribe for my condition and handed me the paper with her scribbles all over it when she was done. I have never had a doctor expect me to read their scratches on a piece of paper to reference what was discussed in my appointment. Although I dealt with her coldness as well as the feeling of being rushed through my appointment, I was hopeful that the medicines prescribed would provide some relief of what I had been dealing with. NO!!! My condition got worse when using what she prescribed, to the point where the skin split under my eye, and it was very painful to have my eye open. My neck itched very badly when I applied one of the medicines for the body to it, and the eczema became worse than it was in that area. This was a horrible experience and it's a shame that she gives her alma mater a bad name. Instead of taking the time to know her patient's history in order to determine what may work, she chose instead to just write a bunch of prescriptions in hopes of one of them working. read more

I have always found Dermatologists to be vanilla and Dr. Crawford is no exception. Her office is small and drab and her staff is pleasant, professional and courteous; but not in an exceptional way. My wait was approximately fifteen minutes in a space with perhaps ten people. I have suffered with the same skin ailments for decades so I was not expecting to be told anything new and I wasn't. Dr. Crawford was low energy but efficient. She prescribed the medication that I needed and I left. I have a friend who is a patient of Dr. Crawford and he concurs she is as bland as warm milk. read more

Considering i'm a religious Yelper, I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't do my research on Dr. Crawford before scheduling an appointment; however, I was advised to see her at the direction of my primary care physician who's in the same building. A poorly-run office with an extremely RUDE doctor. During my consultation I attempted to ask a question, and she INTERRUPTED me with, "I'm not finished yet." Um, **blank stare** Excuse me?? I didn't interrupt HER while she was speaking, yet, when I, a patient, attempted to ask her a question regarding my condition, she shut me up. This behavior is totally unacceptable for a doctor. And that's not all... After finally being called back to the exam room, I first met with, who I thought was, her assistant, who asked me a series of questions about my condition. When doctor Crawford came in, I had to re-explain everything to her... the entire time i'm thinking, "What kind of business are they runnin? I've just explained all of this to the other lady." During this time, in walks yet ANOTHER woman who remained in the exam room with us. I ultimately had to ask, "And you are...?" because neither Dr. Crawford nor the "mystery woman" introduced her/self after entering the room. I really wish I had read these reviews before I went to Doctor Crawford. I should learn, Yelp is the best!!! Dr. Crawford however is not. I completely agreee with the other reviews that there is zero bedside manner and attention. What I would like to caution about is the office's bait and switch billing techniques. I was quoted $95.31 for 'each surgery' (specificially written by the receptionist on the Preliminary Financial Review). However after the procedure was completed, to my dismay I was charged double!!! I tried discussing it with the office manager and even the doctor and the response was like a little child with their hand caught in the cookie jar, not me...... I arrived about 10 minutes late for my appt....the office was about to closed and Dr. Crawford took the time see me - My first interaction with a (new) receptionist was quite pleasant and friendly - good people skills!!. I am grateful that Dr. Crawford took the time to evaluate me and write up prescriptions that would help with my acne outbreak. I've had eczema my entire life so I have been managing it quite well. However; I moved and had to find a new dermatologist. Choosing Dr. Crawford was the worst decision. Her bedside manner is cold and uncaring. Her front desk and back office staff are rude and cold just like her; I guess behaviors trickle down from the top. My skin has gotten worse under her care. Now they have this new "government mandated" form for patients to fill out. LIES- this is not mandated - its payment incentive program. I had a feeling she was just there to write prescriptions for money. She doesnt care about your skin she only cares about getting kick-back from the various, non-compatible prescriptions written. 5 stars. I love Dr.Crawford I've been taking my little brother to her for the last year shes amazing. She was very detailed in explaining what his problem was , the causes and how to help his acne. Her staff was friendly and welcoming as soon as we came through the door. Over all I enjoyed her and look forward to her visits literally any issue we bring to her she explains it. My son was referred to Dr. Crawford by his primary physician for some growth like bumps under the tummy. After being processed by the office staff that included a copay, he waited 10 minutes before being ushered into a room to see Dr. Crawford. Dr. Crawford told him to let her see the problem which he did. she looked at it without touching and in a few seconds shouted out the room to the staff to write a prescription. Dr. Crawford's manner was rude and she acted like his presence was a bother to her. He was in and out of her room in less than 4 minutes without an explanation as to what the problem might be. He used the prescription and 3 months later the problem is still there and we are still clueless to what it might be. He will not go back to her or recommend her to anyone else. I felt so uncomfortable and decided to leave too. She literally stormed in the lobby and screamed at her patient who was calmly seated , speaking down to her. Very arrogant and condescending. Who talks to another woman like that? If I can't ask a question to my dermatologist without her getting offended then what is the point? Bedside manner of a mortician, needs to watch "Barney's Manners" to relearn basic courtesies (like greeting patients and feigning interest in them, "thankyou," "you're welcome," etc.). Wants cash/credit up front, won't file claims with insurance even to treat painful skintags, etc., though, in her defense, she's probably right that they probably won't pay... The multi-visit treatment plan she gave us was soon forgotten and she seemed to be stretching out the treatments, about 5 minutes of mole/skintag removal at $250 a visit... Dr. Lynda Crawford is the worst doctor/dermatologist in the area. I've never seen a person act so rude, arrogant, rigid, abrasive and lacks compassion . She seriously has the bedside manners of a mortician. When she entered the room, she comes in with a random woman. She says the person's name but doesn't state why she was there. Dr. Crawford offered no greeting. During the consultation, she yelled at me when I continued to talk about my issues and said "Stop! Let me finish my answer." I let her finish. As she's speaking I feel myself become flushed. When I further declined to take one of the suggested medications, she became furious and exhibited a serious attitude and displayed a frustrated disposition. I told her I felt uncomfortable with how she was speaking to me and that I felt she was rushing me along. She slammed her feet on the floor and said, "my feet are firmly planted, you have no reason to feel that way" All of this is taking place as the random woman is watching while I'm undressed with a paper gown on. Further during the consultation, Dr. Crawford became so visibly upset that I had questions and a list of concerns that I came in with that she storms out the room before the consultation was over. I was left sitting there. I put on my clothes in total disbelief. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I thought I was in a twilight zone. I have never experienced such an unprofessional doctor. No one should ever have to go through that. And, I try my best to support AA professionals. I can see why the ratings are 2 or less. Reviews really do matter. Don't EVER go to her or send your loved ones to this practice. It amazing that they are still open for business. I have been seeing Dr. Crawford for several years now. Sometimes her solutions are the best solutions for the problem but are not compatible with my lifestyle. For instance Tretinoin provides excellent results but also causes birth defects. She suggested this and I told her that even though I am on birth control I would rather not take the risk of getting pregnant and being on the medication. NOT HER FAULT. She has suggested I take a antibiotic for my type of acne but antibiotics are know to decrease the effectiveness of birth control. I am engaged and live with my fiance and having a child is not in our plans right now. So, it's not worth it to jeopardize getting pregnant.-------------Fast forward I switched my pharmacy to Walmart because Safeway pharmacy constantly has to order stuff and it takes forever! They called in my prescriptions to Safeway and it took three days to get there. If the had called it into walmart it would have been there the same day. They have an after hours on call line where if you need a prescription and let's say your face broke out terribly like mine did they after hours emergency line just sends all requests to the office. THE DOCTOR NEVER CALLED ME BACK AFTER THREE DAYS!-------------I waited an hour to be seen Friday and when she came she never apologized. I noticed a lot of these reviews are old and need to be updated. My experience with Dr. Lynda Crawford was so disappointing. I waited for 45 minutes in the waiting room to be seen and diagnosed in five minutes. I am pregnant and my acne during this pregnancy is awful. Her first suggestion was a product my OBGYN advised me not to use because it would be harmful to my baby. I informed her of that and she told me that in her professional opinion it was ok. She then gave me a Rx for Differin. I wasn't sure about it but used it for two days. I thought about it some more and did a little research online. Pregnant women are NOT supposed to use differin. My doctor also advised me not to use differin. I will not be using her services again and I hope this information keeps you away as well. read more

I've been going to see Dr. Crawford for about four or five months and I have finally given up. Every visit, regardless of how early I arrive, I wait at least half an hour to be seen, sometimes longer. Dr. Crawford has zero bedside manner. She never seems happy and it feels like the patients are an inconvenience. After the at least 30 minute wait, she spends about 5 minutes with you, won't take time to discuss issues or concerns with you, she more or less blows them off as you don't know what you're talking about and she does, and as another review states she will not remember you from visit to visit! Save your time and your money. My teenage son and I went to the office for appointments for the first time yesterday. We arrived 20 minutes early in anticipation of filling out new patient paperwork. The front office staff seemed professional, but perhaps a bit unfriendly or just unhappy. We waited for well over an hour past the time of the appointment. Once we were asked back to the exam room, her assitant quickly came in and did all the prelimenaries. However, we waited in the exam room for 35 minutes before the doctor came in. She was completely unapologetic for being so tardy and seemed rushed during our consultations. If you just have some simple issue, need a script and can afford to spend lots of time waiting, then go. I went to see Dr. Lynda Crawford this past Tuesday. She is really nice. I like her. Me and my husband both had appointments. She'll be my Dermatology Doctor from now on. Do not waste your time seeing her. She has NO bedside manner and didn't even look at the reason why I made the appointment. She insisted on a full body scan (with no clothes on) even though I declined several times. Ultimately she did not appreciate me asking questions and said this is not working out and asked me to leave. She doesn't even give you the opportunity to ask questions or explain the reason why your are there in the first place. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. The other negative reviews are absolutely on point. This woman is rude, and arrogant. I went in for basic adult acne treatment, but I've been struggling with acne all my life. I know what works on my skin. She would not prescribe it, stating that she does not prescribe medication that contains sulfur. But then, what does she go and prescribe me????? A medication that contains sulfur, which she acknowledges. I don't argue with her, because she has made it clear that she is not up for conversation. I take my prescriptions to the pharmacy, only to learn that they will cost me 300 bucks! After googling the medication, I find that it's the standard medication doctors are prescribing for acne, with minimal results. No, thank you. Please steer clear. read more

Dr .Crawford is the most pompous doctor I have ever met. I have seen her about six times. She has had me wait anywhere from fifteen minutes to over a hour with no apology for my wait. When I brought this up to her she was absolutely outraged I would have a problem with this. She knows her business but has the bedside manner of a stone. I had a normal visit with Ms Crawford, she was nice and I already knew what medication i needed for my cane (Doxycycline) I mentioned this to her and she wrote me my prescription on the spot. I have to admit it is a bit expensive since I paid 65 for my visit. Overall it was a good normal visit. read more

If I could give -100 I would. Back when she was a new dr I went to her for a basic rash which later was determined to a simple dermatitis and would have went away on its own. She NEVER did a biopsy but prescribed me the strongest cream available. I didn't know this at the time. She prescribed SEVERAL tubes. I didn't use but a tiny bit of one tube. I woke up one day to horrible stretch marks on my upper thighs and up my stomach. I called her immediately. She looked at them and said "I knew this could happen but I didn't think it would". I asked her what I could do to fix it and she said nothing. The cream was so strong that just from sleeping and it touching my stomach it ate through that skin too. It literally ate through my skin. I was 18 years old and forever changed. Other dermatologists who seen my marks later and told them the story just shake their heads and say, that should have never been done and they also heard horrible things within their dr community about her. While there I heard other people coming up to the desk with prescriptions and I recall her prescribing alot of the same thing to different people. Last week I took my son for his 1st apointment with Dr. Crawford. However! I got the time incorrect and the lady at the front desk was nice enough to reschedule. Luckily, it was for the same day and it was within the next hour. When I returned for the appointment it was down hill from there. After we entered into the room the nurse asked questions and entered the information into the system. This took longer then it did to actually see the Dr. After the nurse finished Dr. Crawford entered into the room. The first thing that I noticed was that she was closer to the door than she was to my son (Strike # 1). When I told her how the problem started she tells me "I'm sure that's not how it started"(Strike #2, 3, and 4). I am done at this point!!!!! If you ask me a question and I'm telling you how it started you are not going to tell me you're sure that's not how it started. Especially! when I say that this problem has been going on for years and has started to get worse. Then, when I showed her a particular spot and asked a question about it, she takes her pen and points to the spot. Never did she get close enough or touch him. She said that it looks as if it was mosquito bites. Noo!!! there're not mosquito bites. If she wasn't standing on top of the door she could see what I was talking about. She then asks my son if he had been scratching. Lady, I just said earlier to the nurse he would scratch himself to sleep. As she is getting ready to exit she tells me about the prescription. Then says well do you want it? I then proceeded to ask another question she then tells me that I didn't let her finish. How is it you didn't finish when you are about to leave the room. At this time I'm thinking she is lucky my son is in this room. This time before she leaves out she asks if I want her to see him to check how he is doing with the prescription. HELL NO!!!!!! You didn't ask if I had other questions or concerns, you didn't give any advice as to what else should I be doing to help my son. You are RUDE and SNOOTY. If you are thinking about going to Dr. Crawford I strongly recommend that you find another doctor, try a home remedy, or whatever else you can do before going to her. This doctor is in it for the money. I have discontinued my services there as of 3 weeks ago. She is so cold and seemingly uncaring. She has no bedside manners at all. Her staff and nurse is friendly. You get more of a smile from them than you ever will from her. I've been a patient for about 3 years. On countless visits, and I have counted, she is in the room with ME for 3 minutes tops. I went to see Dr. Crawford, and I wish I had read these reviews also before I went. I totally agree that she has NO BEDSIDE MANNERS. She was very abrupt and I didn't feel she was listening to anything I said. She asked no questions about my diet or anything that may have changed in the last few months. She went directly to diagnosing from a topical standpoint. When I asked questions, I felt as if she was attacking me as if I was asking a stupid question. I will never go back there again. read more

This was my first time at this office and I was not happy AT ALL! I waited 45 minutes to be seen. Once she entered the room, she introduced herself, pulled up a chair, and began asking me questions without once looking at me. Horrible bedside manner. No apology for the long wait. I never even made it to the examination table. I sat in the waiting chair as she slid her chair near me to look at my face and proceed to prescribe medication I'd used in the past. By this point, I had shut down. I have never been examined in this manner. When asked if I wanted to make my appointment for 8 weeks later, I declined. I will never return to this office! read more

Dr. Crawford does not care about patients she only sees their skin. It's basically a skin factory with no time for questions or discussion of conditions. I had a mole removed today but after experiencing her gruff manner and uncaring attitude I think I will take out my own stitches rather than go back to her. If you want to be heard and treated with respect go to another dermatologist. read more
