I find that Dr. Jan (the person I see most) is an extremely caring and thorough doctor. There have been occasions where she has looked at something on me, did not see what she liked, and bam, off it came, right then and there, and off to testing it goes. There are not many doctors who will do this - they'll have you reschedule, and you may have to wait another two to three weeks for the appointment. Now, I have to say, that sometimes, I am on the other end of the thorough examinations, where I have to wait a bit longer to be seen. I don't mind because I know that someone else is receiving the excellent treatment that I get. Dr. Jan and her husband are extremely friendly - the kind of doctors that you grew up with. They care more about their patients than their own conveniences. DO GIVE THEM A TRY!!!!!

I was uncomfortable when she asked me where the surgical site was as it did not give me confidence that my procedure had been adequately reviewed beforehand. When the procedure was over, Heather Steele just exited the room without speaking with me. The communication between patient and health care provider was unprofessional, inadequate and uncaring.

When I arrived, Pam took my information and co-pay and asked me to have a seat in the waiting room. Pam is efficient, polite and a pleasure to deal with. I only waited 5 minutes past my appointment time before I was taken to an exam room by an assistant, Grace. Again, efficient and polite. The staff at WellAve is awesome. After a few minutes, Erin Brimhall, came in to perform the exam. She quickly diagnosed this gross thing on my neck and froze it off right then and there. I also have some weird thing going on with my arms. Erin recommended a steroid tape and told me how much my pharmacy would probably charge - $55 (she was correct, BTW). She told me if it was $55 and I didn't want to pay that much, she could prescribe a less expensive medication and to just let her know if I wanted to go that route. Erin first recommended the tape because it's way easier to work with than the topical cream. Good recommendation. She asked that I follow up in 6 weeks so she could check that gross thing on my neck again. Erin has a terrific bedside manner and doesn't rush through the exam. She takes time to be thorough and answers your questions. Back to Pam, who found me an appointment 6 weeks out at a convenient time. These people get it. When you make an appointment, you expect to be taken as close to your appointment time as possible. So many other practices just don't seem to care if they waste your time. Add the promptness to the capable, efficient and polite staff, and you've found the best dermatology practice in the area.

He still likes writing scripts for it, he even has a homemade poster right next to his desk that you basically face the whole time during your visit that says something along the lines of, ask me about diet plan medication. The wait for him is pretty much horrible. He only does walk ins unless it's something like the diet plan. So you never know how long you will wait and they herd you from one waiting room to another and then you just sit and wait for a pretty long time.

I just moved and was searching for a doctor with later hours and possible weekend hours and found him. My initial visit I expected to have a full physical and history. I only filled out paperwork for my medical history. The doctor did not look at me nor did he introduce himself he just asked why I was there. I told him and he said do you need prescriptions? I said no and told him that I thought he would order blood work. He says oh ok. He asks what else do you want from me and I said I guess thats it. Four days after having the labs come back he called me identified himself and told me my sugar was too high and hung up the phone. Yes! Hung up! I went in to see him and he prescribed a medication which would interact with other meds I am taking. I had to do the research to find which one would work for me. My 3rd appointment with him was after a car accident. My head was pounding along with my neck and shoulders. He turned my head slightly to the left slightly to the right and said its no big deal do you want something for pain? I said no I want to know whats going on! He just said it will go away do you want meds? Really??? How is a doctor like this able to practice? I hope someone of authority reads theses reviews and does some research. He is awful!

They have not returned calls from the 3 voice mail messages I have left them over the last week. My suggestion...AVOID Hopkins Dermatology!! As soon as I get this straightened out I will choose a new doctor. Unfortunately, I need this medicine, so I can't leave until I get this worked out.
