I was in the middle of cancer treatment and I wanted to be seen sooner than later because I was concerned. Thankfully It turned out I didn't have anything serious. At the time, I was away at college--four hours from home--so it didn't make sense to schedule appointments I couldn't attend. When I finally called to return as a patient, the receptionist was extremely rude and dismissive, saying they couldn't take me back because of my insurance. This was confusing because my mom and sister, who are both on the exact same insurance plan, were (and still are) seen here with no issue. However, the real reason I'm writing this review is because of what happened to my younger sister. She has been on medication for anxiety for about three years, prescribed by Dr. Evans, who was also my doctor and my mom's doctor. Recently, she decided she wanted to stop taking it, and Dr. Evans told her she could taper off completely in just two weeks. For a medication she'd been taking daily for three years. My sister followed the instructions, and this past weekend--after finishing the taper--she experienced severe withdrawal symptoms, including tachycardia (rapid heart rate) and intense stomach pain. It was frightening and completely avoidable. It's deeply concerning that a licensed physician would recommend such a short taper for a long-term medication. Dr. Evans has always come across as detached and lacking empathy, but this situation goes beyond poor bedside manner--it's unsafe and irresponsible. Between the unprofessional staff, inconsistent policies, and lack of genuine care, I cannot in good conscience recommend this office to anyone, especially those dealing with mental health medications.
