The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and provide a range of thoughtful amenities like quality bedding, pillows, and towels, and a coffee maker. Although oriental NC is small and a town that is all about the water, it is not the most walkable town in NC, which is why location is key. Not only is this hotel closer to everything that matters, they have the best view right off the water than any other hotel in town. This is the most comfortable stay in town. Cheers!

What you need, but just…read more First, some things that were unusually nice: - The location right next to the water and a nice park - An easy and pleasant walk to many businesses and the main marina - Generally clean and tidy - Good water pressure from a nice showerhead and well marked soap containers in the shower - Full-sized coffee maker and microwave Here are some things that weren't so nice: - upon entry, there was a strong chemical smell - Importantly, there were very few outlets near the nightstands for chargers and other accessories - The bed made a fair bit of noise as you got in and out - The TV was small and would not connect to the network, and there was nobody available to help - Fridge was up against a wall to the right, but the door hinges were on the left so it was difficult to get into - There is one sink that shares kitchen and bathroom duty - The water got barely hot enough for a shower and took quite a while to get there - The floor was quite slippery when it was wet - The blinds would not raise and lower correctly - The toilet room door was very awkward; it was in the way as you went in, and if you tried to leave it open, it would swing into your legs - The heater was quite noisy - The heat was turned off when we arrived so it was chilly in the room - There was a barking dog at 3 AM on our first night - There is an instruction manual for the room, but it was clearly out of date - No windows in the bathroom or kitchen area - A fair bit of dirt on the door from hands - Coffee tasted stale - a kitchen, but no table despite being a large room

There are actually 2 separate fenced in runs. How smart to put bark down! It rained Saturday night and Sunday am when we got here, but instead of the dog parks being muddy messes, the bark absorbed the water. Less mess in the camper - NICE! I will say that the standard sites are very close together. Perfectly fine for an overnight stay, but way too close for our 5th wheel (we were in site 18). Since we were staying Saturday through Wednesday, we asked Sunday morning if we could switch sites and the staff was very accommodating! We moved to 86 and were thrilled! This is a beautiful location and the staff is amazing! We plan to return to this fantastic town in the future and we will definitely stay here.

Traveling on a road trip always has it's raves and rants. We found that instead of just using the…read morehighway facilities, it was nicer sometimes to take a bit of time and go into various information centers. Don't get me wrong, though rest areas were well kept and very clean on this particular road trip and I have absolutely no complaints. When you go to a visitor information center, you end up finding out more history and talking to locals that have lived there for quite some time. It is very interesting and educational and adds a bit to your trip so you know where you've been a little bit more about something you maybe never even heard of before. This was located in the County of Lamar, in the state of South Carolina. We had to get off the interstate because it was closed due to weather conditions we ended up winding through the countryside. It was an unexpected diversion but hey you gotta make the best of what happens on a road trip. We saw a lot of fields of things growing and towels and farm houses, it was a much different world than we're used to living in in Tampa. I appreciate the Visitor Information Centres and really enjoy stopping there. Not only do you get clean facilities that have a bathroom break but you get to meet wonderful people and learn some history about where you are at the present time. What's a girl to do? Went out of town learn more about the locals.

Cons first so I can end on a good note: CONS - The campground is REALLY close to the highway and an overpass. You will hear the cars all night long if you are tent camping. All.Night.Long. We didn't sleep very well; I would say not at all but we doze off a few times. (5 people in our group, 1 person said they slept ok. That same person drank more than anyone else - pack a pint of Beam and you may sleep too!). - There are 1, maybe two full time campers with what appears to be full time residents. They PARTIED hard, loud music until 3-4 am. Totally unacceptable for the campground manager to allow this, and to be a part of it. Yep, he partied with them; we think he lives right behind the office in a camper too. PROS - Now for the good stuff: - There's a wonderful stream/river that runs along the campground; we got a spot on the turn which we really liked. - There are several lakes that are awesome! I taught my wife to cast a fly and there are no/few trees around so she was able to not get snagged up and she really enjoyed it. My daughter lost a nice bass in the lake nearest the camping area. We saw 4 other nice bass caught on worms. Bait can be bought south of the campground a mile or so on the left. - It is pet friendly; we bought our dogs and enjoyed walking the grounds with them. - Bathrooms are pretty clean and have showers. If you are looking for a quiet spot to chill and sleep well, this may not be the best choice. They'll never be able to fix the road noise, but if they can get the mgmt under control and address the noise at night it would be a 4 star place.

What I absolutely loved is that they left a new toy for my baby to keep! That was so nice of them! All the amenities were clean and well kept. It's a beautiful quiet little cove that I definitely recommend to visit a day or two.

No other flight until 9:30, well this completely ruined 1st day of our vacay. Loss of $500 night in hotel, still charged because are check in was 4am. First tour was at 10 am so you can imagine that feeling on day 1. We couldn't sit together on Japan flight due to last minute change to Cali instead of Dallas. 6 hour layover in California. AA staff was standoffish and not empathetic AT ALL. The cop managing all the upset passengers was completely into himself. Telling people they should sit down and not be upset. Southern hospitality? not here. They already have your money so its not a big deal. If you don't care about connections, maybe it will work. But for the amount of money we spent, we just need to drive to the bigger Airport who can handle one damaged plane. They turned away all the other people who had flights, after ours. I don't understand why there was NO answer for those checked in at 5am until 4.5 hours later. Poor management.
