He gave us some suggestions but told us we really should come back with my helmet for fit. We came back later to learn that he'd actually tried on a bunch while we were gone (not knowing if we'd come back) and found two pairs he thought would fit the best. And guess what? He was right. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Breckenridge! My husband and I both rented an e-bike for 4 hours along with a trailer for our 18 month old. The e-bikes were great because they featured "pedal assist" so the rider can adjust how much (or any) power to add as you pedal from a scale of 0-5. We took the bikes to Frisco along the bike path which was well marked and then around the lake there and back. The views were GORGEOUS and the whole experience was so much fun. I would recommend to anyone traveling in Breckenridge! The shop was clean and smelled really nice. The girl who helped us Morgan gave us a quick but thorough tutorial of the bikes before we went and made the whole experience very easy for us. read more

Great service, quality bikes, and friendly staff. They were able to accommodate my family less than a day before when our whitewater rafting trip was cancelled last minute and we were scurrying to find an activity to replace it. I had never ridden an e-bike before, but the rep provided a helpful briefing beforehand and we were on our way soon after. For anyone who is more knowledgeable about bikes: They rented out Blix e-bikes for us, which were sturdy and comfortable. Be advised that these are pedal-assist (Class 1) bikes, which are allowed on the bike paths in and around Breckenridge as opposed to the throttle-assist counterparts. We took them downhill to Frisco, around the Dillon Reservoir, and back with over half the battery remaining, so they'll last you as long as you're willing to get your legs moving. I bought a Smith helmet from here a month ago. I went skiing today for the first time with it and turned out to be too tight after a few runs and the clutch fell apart. I'm an intermediate skier and I did not fall. I went to the store and the lady there was extremely rude. Told me because I "rode it on the mountain" there was nothing they could do even though I had my receipt. A few weeks later the owner reached out and was able to provide me a refund. Four of us rented e bikes to try for the first time from Chris. He was very friendly, helpful and patient with all of our questions and concerns. Helmets and bike locks are provided, as well as a small bag for water bottles, etc. on the front of the bike. They were good at selling you helmets , the helmets didn't fit my kids so I looked on the website and it said they closed at 8 so I called to verify and they said 6 so I walked 20mins and got there 10 till 6 and they said they were closing early. We rented 2 ebikes from Craniologie so we could see the fall colors. The bikes were like beach cruisers with comfie seats and handlebars that don't hurt your back or neck. We're in our late 50s and couldn't have been more pleased. It was our first ebike experience and we rode 50+ miles without even using up 1/2 of the battery's charge. The bikes comes with a helmet and bike lock. I called EVERY ebike rental place in Breck, and this one was the best. We only wanted to rent for 4 hours and they let us set what that 4 hour window was. Sadly this was the biggest bait and switch. I walked in and told the clerk that I had a son who will ski once a year so we do not need the most expensive helmet. He said he had helmets that ranged from $100-300. I said point me to the $100 helmets. He pointed to it. I asked if there were other colors. He said yes, I asked for black. When he rang me up (and the box was opened and the tags off) the price was $217. You can guess my shock. The store may be great but make sure you ask the price before you do anything. This place is service focused! Carlos met us immediately after we walked in. He quickly pointed out the helmets we were looking for and was very patient as we tried them on multiple times. My husband and I and another couple rented ebikes from Chris (an attentive and helpful guy) We loved it! Bikes were charged and ready to go. Chris gave us some OTJ training prior to letting us go. The place is right on bike path and we biked to Frisco. It was a blast. Head winds and grades just didn't bother us. We loved the experience. Chris welcomed us back and didn't charge for the extra 40 minutes. (We ate lunch in Frisco so took longer than 2 hours). Definitely will do again. I love bike riding but don't do it enough so 20 miles would have been a big trek without the bikes. read more

Went in Craniologie on opening day for breck 2014.... Needed a new lens for my oakley airbrake because the persimmon one that came with them might be the worst piece of ski equipment I have ever owned. This younger dude in there, I think his name was Evan, knew more about ski goggles and lenses than I could have ever imagined. Being a die hard ski gear junkie, even I was impressed. Awesome customer service. My head is right on the border of small and medium and I basically tried on the entire inventory of both sizes. When I found THE ONE we discovered it didn't fit with my goggles- bring your goggles! Zane replaced the lining with a beanie so my goggles could go in between and it was perfect! Suggested, but no pressure to buy new goggles too. but he did show me some great options that weren't around when I was in the market for a pair. I went there to look at MIPS bike helmets, which is the latest in helmet technology. I was told that they only had a few--mainly the most expensive (over $200)--and that they only plan to carry the highest end MIPS helmets. Seemed a bit elitist to me since one can buy a decent, safe MIPS helmet for around $100. read more

We had a great experience at Craniologie. We were on a mission to purchase a helmet for our daughter who had cracked hers over the weekend skiing the chutes at Abasin. After stopping at two other shops in the county with no inventory and absolutely no customer service, we decided to check out Craniologie. We walked in and the sales associate immediately measured my daughter's head for the best fit. Then she asked us what we were looking for and narrowed down the choices for us. We found a comfortable helmet that worked great with my daughters goggles. They were having a deal on goggles/helmet package so purchased some goggles too.
