A great way to understand the local food scene for me is to visit a farmers market and this one was as good as any in California. Much local produce as one would expect. I found at least 6 types of garlic, all awesome looking replete with Scapes attached. Russian red was my favorite. Brought some back to the home we were staying at and roasted it -OMG so good. Their were artisan bread bakers, fresh honey, Mead which is like a fermented beer like substance made of honey and has an ABV of about 5%, different vinagars, Incredible berries, a massage booth, just an awesome market. I totally recomend a visit if you are up here in Summer. Not sure what they do in winter. There was music, it had a great energy and buzz to it. If you visit Cranbrook in Summer, its a must. Plenty of very good restaurants and bars in walking distance from this event as well. read more
