We have bought several trucks from Crain over the past few years and it used to be a decent place to buy and service vehicles. Over the past year this place has went down hill fast. Most of the sales people have no clue as to what they are talking about. Service - hands down the worst service department in the history of service depts. they are astronomically the highest place in town to get repairs done. They communication is horrible. Never do they actually do what they say they will do. Some guy named Richard is supposedly "in charge " of the service dept. But you can NEVER get him on the phone / he's never there / never returns any phone calls. They people working the front counter do not have a clue. And the service sales - all they want to do is sell you a bunch of stuff that doesn't need to be fixed because they work on commission. It horrible. I never thought Chris Crain would let it get this bad here but it has. Will be taking all of our fleet stuff to Superior from now on. read more

My grandson traded for a truck then after 9 days I called and told them he lost his job. They texted him and said since he lost job deal fell thru. I have been trying for 3 weeks to get the title back on the truck he had traded in that had no lien on it. Salesman will not call back and no one there seems to know what they are doing. Super unprofessional staff. When purchasing the vehicle they gave me a price in text and then wrote the financing contract at a higher price. When I questioned them they said they'd send me the $1000 check difference instead of having to redo the paperwork. I wasn't thinking about all the other fees I incurred because of that extra $1000 so at the time I agreed. When I tried to contact them regarding the extra fees that I paid because of their mistake, it was almost impossible to get in contact with anyone. I was transferred to voicemails and told id receive calls back, which I never did. Finally accepting that they wouldn't agree to more than the $1000, the original check had expired. I called to get the original check replaced and they assured me they would resend the check. Apparently they sent it to my previous address that I hadn't lived at for over a year PRIOR to buying the vehicle. Not sure how they even got that address, then refused to resend the check to my current address unless they got the check returned to them from the wrong address, as if that is my issue. They blamed me, twisted my story, and made up lies all over what was originally THEIR MISTAKE and then THEIR MISTAKE AGAIN. I finally got the check a year later but I do not recommend doing business with any of them but especially stay clear of James Williams and Nate. read more

We bought a 2024 GMC Acadia from this dealership, right at 20,000 miles we started having issues with paint peeling off and clear coat peeling off. The steering wheel plastic started to peel off. Let me also tell you we are extremely clean people, this car stays very clean at all times. I have submitted a claim with General Motors customer care and the dealership will not help at all. General Motors Customer Care is just the middle man between you and the dealership, completely useless. I spoke to the general manager over the location about a week ago and was suppose to get a direct contact to General Motors to discuss why my claim was denied. Never got a phone call back and every time I call up there I get told "I'll have him call you back" this vehicle is still under factory warranty and this is ridiculous to have paint coming off with this new of a vehicle, but what is more ridiculous is the fact the dealership will not fix the issue. General Motors has told me the dealership is the one denying the claim, and so did the body shop. A friend of ours has had countless problems with sensors and so on with her Acadia as well, which was purchased here too. I would strongly advise not purchasing thru them. They will not help you when it comes to getting your vehicle repaired. I will say they did fix the steering wheel but denied the paint. After speaking to another dealership that assures me they can get this resolved, I'm taking the car there next week. If that does not work I will be taking it to legal maters. This Business and everything they stand for is really unfortunate. They are fake and lie from the start to the finish. My husband and I and our car taken in because (problems with the engine shouldn't happen in the first place) for when you newly purchase a car within 2 years. They told us it would take about 2 weeks. It took them 50 days for us to receive our car back, keep in mind we had to keep calling for the check up and update. They never called us or let us know anything. Also we needed our car to go home for the holidays, they told us they didn't have rentals. Call again the next day - they have rentals and act all sweet and nice about it. Finally received our car back, they said they washed it. It was so dirty, and now the left rear end tire is flat. My car was NOT ready as I was told, the amount for diagnosis was NOT deducted as I was told. Originally told that repairs would be $2500. Gave them $320 for diagnosis. Took the car back in to get repairs on Thursday morning and told it would be ready Friday late. I jokingly said there was no way and that it would probably be Monday or Tuesday. Got it back WEDNESDAY. Told the advisor to call and leave a message when I was not available. I tried 4 times ( phone record in hand) to contact advisor to no avail. Then called service department when a woman with no knowledge of anything tried to make me give her my life history. I told her to put me on with the service manager. Put on hold for 5 minutes then I hung up. Some other woman called saying she was returning my call. She was NO help at all. Finally was told the cost was $2456. SOOO I prepared to get all that I needed to pay for my car. Wrote a check and had Crain send the shuttle to pick me up. Got to the dealership and handed over the check. The check was NOT acceptable. CASH OR CREDIT CARD ONLY. And the amount that I was told was NOT what I had been told over the phone TWICE. Simple math says $2500 minus $320 SHOULD be $2180 but THEIR math said $2456.33 ALL they could say is OKAY. And I said GOOD BYE. I could not give negative STARS so goes the ball gave. The Federal Trade Commission realizes that there are dealerships like this one and have implemented NEW rules that are to take effect in July, 2024. Of course the National Automobile Dealers Association is very much opposed to cleaning up crooked dealers. I will NEVER get near another CRAIN dealership again. read more

Worst experience ever at a dealership that the vehicle was purchased from. My friend went into this location to purchase a new electronic key fob for her new vehicle, After waiting 3.5 hour for the task to be completed she was on her way. Unfortunately the coding on the key did not fully work, The doors and trunk would not open with the fob in your possession and you had to manually press lock/unlock function on the fob. We find time to go into the location while I am visiting and the service was horrible. The manager was rude and very condescending as if her wanting the job she paid for to be completed correctly the first time., He proceeded to be angry and upset, at this point we didn't feel safe and left the location. She contacted Buick and they had to go to another location miles away for service that they completed at no further cost to her. read more

My husband is a car hauler and delivered to this dealership. First, the man that inspected the trucks was very unprofessional and rude. He got on his hands and knees and found a very meniscal rock chip on 3 trucks. Knowing all the while that they paid to have these transported on and open trailer and the had been handled 3 times. Afterwards, this man had the audacity to want to shake my husband's hand. I contacted the dispatcher in which these trucks were through, and she informed me that she had to take their word because they are big customers of hers. Thus, they are holding my husband's check until they decide the estimate of the damages. I feel that this is a scam with this company. A small bottle of touch up paint is probably 10$ or they may just put these out on the lot and sell without touching them up. Anyway, someone it probably pocketing money. The Crain Commitment is a joke.. I have tried to get anyone at Crain to look into this with no success so don't let it happen to you.. I traded my Yukon in on a used Escalade in October. My wife and I were told it would have good tires on it and it would go through a full service check before it was given to us ( the tires were bald and it had a slight tick when it was running). We asked about purchasing a extended Warranty but were told it had factory warrantee and I didn't need to purchase one so we did the paperwork and waited for the truck. After the paperwork was done they said they would not put tires on the truck like we had agreed. ( I wasn't happy but figured ok I'll just eat that one) We had the truck for a week when the tick kept getting louder so we drove back to Crain to ask about it. I talked to the sales manager and was told there isn't anything they can do but he would would talk to his boss and call me later that day. I waited a week and drove back to Crain after we didn't hear back from him, this time there was a new sales manager and he assured me he would help me. ( I also never heard from him ) 3 days later the truck broke down and I had to take it to a different dealership who found a bad lifter. They ran the VIN to find out it did not have any factory warrantee like we were told...what a surprise... I had to pay the $4000 to get the truck fixed, it was in the shop the first 3 months I owned it. If they would have serviced the truck like I was told they would this could have been taken care of then.. after the repairs and a rental vehicle I have been out over $5000 They never fully paid off my trade it and left me with a balance I had to pay to get it paid off ( they said it was a mistake and they would reimburse me but that never happened ). I have called the General Manager at Crain Conway and like everyone else, he has blown me off.. If you are looking for a new car DO NOT go to Crain, they tell you one thing and never follow through, they lie and will leave you in the cold paying for repairs that should have been covered....... read more

Honestly, it was a mixed experience. I called and said the recently installed radio was defective. I talked to Dustin, who gave me a time to bring it in. It took them 4 hours to get to my car and I'm not convinced they even looked at it before deciding to take my word for it and order a new radio. Dustin said he'd call in 2-5 days, and 2 and a half weeks later, finally did. Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed by the 4 hours it took them to get to my car initially and then the 3 weeks to hear back from them. I was incredibly pleased by my service when I actually took my car in to get the radio, however. I dropped my car off right before my scheduled time and they had it fixed in less than 2 hours. Dustin was really polite and helpful and I was thrilled that the radio issue was covered under warranty. read more

I guess my money wasn't good enough for them? We went there this morning and test drove a vehicle, said we liked it and told them we'd pay cash. Meanwhile they sold it right out from under us. The salesperson could barely even face us to tell us what was going on. They claimed the other person was there before us, but that's because they had the wrong address in the listing and we went to Crain Hyundai of Conway. I even sent texts at 6:30AM and talked to customer service rep who sent me to the wrong address. We walked in there around 9:10 at the latest when they had opened at 9. We even test drive it before this other person who was supposedly there before us. They didn't tell us that they were just going to sell it to the other person regardless and kept us sitting around there for an hour for no reason. Our sales guy wouldn't even answer simple questions and was whispering behind his mask, wasn't very pleasant or helpful. He didn't even attempt to make the situation better or find us another vehicle. He said, "The other person was here before you so they're first, so you guys can just leave and I'll call you if it falls through. I told my sales manager that you weren't interested in any other vehicles" I never ever said anything like that to him. He barely conversed with us at all. Just left us sitting there wondering why we can't buy a car with cash. It blows me away that they let money walk out the door. I can't help but feel they didn't want to deal with me because they were going to make more money on financing it. If you have cash stay away and to be honest you might stay away regardless. Went in to buy a preowned vehicle and unfortunately it wasn't available at the moment so instead we found something else and gave it a shot because we thought it was a good car. It was good on the test drive and as soon as we were talking business for the car the dealer had their least experienced salesman help us and thankfully I came with help because this guy was immediately trying to make a deal without giving out details like payments, how much my trade was worth and the worst of all the hidden fees they will make you pay for on top of the car. They really thought that I would be willing to pay for their repair bill on the car and I was willing to bet that the car didn't require it due to it being a 2019. long Story short I left and went to a different dealership and I'd recommend you do too because if they want you to pay for the repair bill on top of the advertising price of the vehicle it's not worth doing business with them. This place can not be trusted. Found a truck I wanted online. It was "new" with 2600 miles advertised. Im Ok with that and it was a good price. Started the buying process online on a Sunday. Called first thing Monday morning and spoke with James W ( huge mistake if you do shop here avoid him). I agreed to the price online and put a deposit on the truck. He told me a customer used the truck when his truck was in the shop is the reason for the milage ( all in past tense) I sent a message to him Tuesday morning and he didn't respond all day. I just called him about 3:30 and he said he's trying to get the truck back and now it has about 3400 miles. I put a deposit on it why is someone still driving it. I was mislead and lied to by James. At this point I didn't want to go through the hassle of finding something else. I booked a flight ( I live in Texas) and asked james if i can get a ride from the airport and he told me just to use uber. I laughed and then just asked if it could be dropped off at the airport and he agreed. Talked to him Wednesday and he said he was having the truck detailed and oil change. I get in Thursday and it comes to the airport and the truck is very dirty , There was a babies pacifier in the cup holder. It now has 3900 miles. Found scratches on the tailgate and where someone hit a wall or something with the mirror. I drove to the dealership to talk to them in person and James started arguing with me and said Ill just give you your money back, I just flew there and didn't have a way back. They did clean it up and get most of the scratches out after about of 4 hours of me waiting around. All I wanted was the truck they had online and the price they had online. James is just a lier and shouldn't be trusted or at least not buy something from them without looking at it first. read more

I recently had work done on my 2004 CTS, I had a part go bad that was under warrenty, They refused to replace this part unless I replace another part that they thought might be part of the porblem. They did not know this for sure, but insisted that I needed to pay and replace this additional part before they would replace the warrentied part. Service after purchase is not so great. Called and made an appointment for the first oil change. I was told they don't provide a car even though as I'm typing this their website says they provide a car. They told me 45 minutes so I took my hour lunch and come for an oil change. 50 minutes later I went to check on the status and she said it's only been 30 minutes. So apparently it's not 45 minutes from your appointment it's 45 minutes AFTER they finally start on your vehicle. She said 10 more minutes when I enquired .. I'm late to getting back to work but since the car is "in process" and they won't give me something else to drive I'm stuck here waiting. read more

I purchased a car from here 2 years ago for my daugthers 16th birthday in May and December of that same year the high pressure fuel pump went out. I was told the warranty was out of date and since then being a single mother her car is still in the shop and i have to make payments on it. In the mean time they have called me and wanted to make a deal to trade the car in since they failed to tell me that this was the last year this model of the car was made. So the back and forth on the trade in ordeal they ran my credit yet again and told me i was denied. Now explain to me how when i bought the scion i made way less money than i do now and now all of a sudden i am denied and my daughter is in her senior year and her car is still in the shop. It ended up being that it has two fuel pumps and both had gone out. This is the absolute worse place to purchase a vehicle from and let me inform you that it took two days to even purchase this one because i was told hold on ma'am we are going to get you in a good deal today. Not the best place to take your vehicle for repairs. One time they left the lugs lose on my truck and the trip that followed was towing a 5th wheel camper 600 miles one way. The tire almost fell off. Each time I take the truck here the mechanics have a hard time understanding what they need to do. And, the price tag for repairs??? WOW is all I can say. The customer service rep Arbra is about the only good thing about this place. He is friendly and communicates with you about what needs to be done. Though the invoice is quite generic in what was fixed, and all the hidden costs that come along with repairs (environmental fees, a lot of dealership fees, etc...) and taxes make the repair costs go through the roof. read more

I bought a GMC SUV from here and was very pleased. At first I thought it was going to be a horrific experience. We had called them about our pre-owned vehicle we saw on the internet since we live over an hour away from the dealership and were told an internet price of $27,000. When we got there, they said they couldn't sell it for that price. As we left the manager called us and told us they would honor that price. All of the staff was very courteous through the paperwork process and gave us GM dollars to use in the future. We felt at home through the whole ordeal. Worst experience with the service dept. I was traveling from out of state and the front panel on my 2019 GMC Truck was loose, Crain GMC was the only GMC dealer in the area so I went by to see if it could be popped back into place. Was told it needed to be replaced and had to be ordered and painted. They contacted me about a week later stating the part was in and she wanted to set up appointment, asked if the part had been painted as I was told it would need to be painted, stated she would check and call me back, she did and said it was ready to be installed and set up appt for the following Monday. When I arrived I was told it had not yet been painted and the girl I spoke with was no longer working there. I was not happy after driving an hour, but was then told it would be ready by Wednesday. I called Wed morning and was told it was ready and I could bring the vehicle in and they would give me a vehicle to drive while they put it on. Dropped truck off thinking it would take a couple hours. I called about 4:30 that afternoon to see if it was ready, at that time I was told it would not be ready today and still needed to go to the body shop, (which is in Little Rock) part is still not painted and hasn't even been taken to the body shop yet. Needless to say I was upset that nothing I had been told was correct and they couldn't even give me an idea as to when the vehicle would be ready. I was previously told they do not have a dealership or service dept manager so they had me dealing with the sales manager, I told him I was coming to pick up my truck and his response was " Come get your F-ing truck, we can fire customers too". Picked up my truck and would never do business with this dealership. read more

do not give your business to crain gmc buick in conway! i have never been treated so underhandedly in my life! i purchased a vehicle from this place october 31, 2020. it was a used vehicle so naturally i insisted on an extended warranty! i didn't have the vehicle for two months and the computer went out. they had my vehicle for two weeks but did finally get it fixed at no cost due to the warranty. whew, right? well, since then, i have had to replace the tires, the battery, and the brakes. so much for their pre-owned vehicle inspections, which needs to be investigated? now, there is an issue of the solenoids going bad! this place is telling me oh, you don't have a warranty and that the finance guy who, by the way, is no longer there lied to me! wait? what? i know i insisted on an extended warranty and i was also bullied into the gap insurance. i can't get anyone at this place to talk to me so i guess my only option is the attorney general's office and that investigation that needs to take place against this place! so i sent a copy of my warranty to the general manager who now says, oh, all our cars come with that. it's called the "crain commitment." are you kidding me?????????? first, no, i had to request that warranty at the time of purchase it wasn't offered to me at all and was the one thing that i said i needed to purchase the vehicle, and second you sir, mr. jason buchanan told me i had no warranty at all! now he wants me to come in and see how he can help me out. i mean, he told me flat out i had no warranty. period. why didn't he tell me hey, that's covered under our crain commitment, instead of sorry, you don't have a warranty. i tell you why, because they are the shadiest dealership i have ever dealt with. now you want me to come in and meet with you to see how you can help me out? i wouldn't trust these people to work on my lawnmower. read more

We filled out a credit application and even came to an agreement on a deal. Then when they called Fayetteville to get the truck brought to Conway, Fayetteville said they had an appt scheduled for the next day afternoon. Those people ended up buying it. We ended up with several hard inquiries on our credit as all dealerships do and an approval but no truck. The salesman told my husband the day after the appt with the other buyers that it was sold. That was the last we heard anything. There was no trying to look for something else for us or anything just that it was sold. We will never ever go to Crain again. Please make sure you know what you're getting into when buying from another one of their lots that they would have to bring it to Conway. I just hope by this review that Crain reacceses their processes and policies for situations like this. This is people's credit and hopes their messing with. Guess we'll have to go somewhere else and get our credit ran again for another truck. Lots of hard inquiries due to poor dealership policies. read more

hello im jeff hall . and i have been buying brand new vehicles from craine since 1995 all from conway dealership.. nearly every two years me and my wife trade for a new ride.. ill try keep this short and sweet. everyone knows anywhere you shop theres ups and downs ...and ill start out with the downs...1. this isnt there fault but they have a hard time finding good help....2. that darn phone out front really is agrevating , it has issues dropping calls. and 3rd...well hmm there is nothing else.. now for the good ? 1 they are real nice at just about everything from pricing to service straight into ordering parts. the business is all ways super clean with refeshments for there customers. you can walk and drive through the lot and instore with out worrying about bumping into things. these folks not just want to sell you a vehicle but they care about what the customer wants and needs. . the knowledge of the mechanics is superior. the management is alllways willing to leave the door open for you and are sooo kind. they are such a better place to shop for a vehicle ...even the online person i chatted with was super nice.... folks if you dont want the pain of hassling around with dull pushy greedy dealerships? shop at crain automotive gmc in conway . id give them a billion stars if i could . Very professional sales and service staff. I experienced one recall and another warranty issue that was solved without any problems. I think the 45 minute drive from my home to Crain worth the trouble! read more
