From the design phase all the way to the final inspection, the entire process was smooth and easy. Tony and his crew did an excellent job and paid close attention to every detail during construction. From…read morebeginning to end, our points of contact, Avi & Joseph have gone above and beyond for our project, walking us through the planning phases, permitting, design, construction and finishing work of the renovation. They were able to make a normally very stressful process almost stress-free, so much so that all I had to do was say "yes or no" when it came to key decisions. The Construction & More team took lead in the painful parts of dealing with permitting, PG&E, and subcontractors. They also got us in contact with their preferred vendors to help us with discounts on appliances, finishes and other materials we needed to purchase out of pocket. Overall, I found the Construction & More team extremely professional, transparent, organized, communicative and punctual when it came to the end-to-end process. They truly helped guide us through the process so we didn't have any surprises and helped us navigate any hiccups that came up. Normally, construction companies get a bad rap of being dishonest and trying to add in hidden fees and such, but Construction & More is a truly forthcoming and hardworking group of contractors who have your best interest at heart when it comes to your project no matter how big or small. For the process itself, we began with a consultation at our home to walk through the work we wanted the Construction & More team to do. For us, it was a full renovation which included removing a kitchen wall to create an open concept kitchen & living room, adding a mud room, expanding the master bedroom, moving the front and garage doors, as well as moving the ceilings to create a more open space. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). Avi & Joseph respected our budget and were upfront and honest of how to stay within the budget and what were non-negotiables that we needed to get done. They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. I had Carlos and his team assemble our European style kitchen cabinets. They were made of finished…read morewood and lacquer cabinets. We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

We wanted to replace all our original 1960s-era single-pane windows with double-pane windows. We…read morealso wanted a storm door for our front door. We got an estimate from Andersen (less the storm door). Their products and installation method were top-notch, but so was their estimated price! So we wanted something more economical. After some research we heard Milgard windows using an "retrofit" installation would be more in our price range. We also wanted a window/door-installation company that gave us a good price estimate (1/3 the cost of Andersen), was in our locale (Tri-Valley) , and had 5-star rating already. So we were happy to find Cal Coast that met those criteria. The initial estimate process was straightforward. Our estimator was friendly and efficient. The format of the estimate came in digital PDF format. It was easy to print, and the details and layout were very helpful with diagrams of what the windows and door would look like with dimensions. One measurement for one window was slightly off. I mentioned that to my estimator. He assured me that was not a problem because if I accepted their estimate, then the next step was for another technician would come out to the house to re-measure the windows more accurately and in more detail. We did accept the estimate, and indeed another technician came out to do detailed measurements. Then we received a revised and more detailed contract in that same great layout! The estimator kindly set our expectations that our windows and door were going to take 5-6 weeks to custom manufacture and about 1 to 2 days to install. Those timings were right on target, which helped us in planning other events in our life. Installation only took 1 day! The crew was great - courteous, hard working, and efficient. They put foam insulation in the space between our window frames and the new windows. The caulking work was professional. I was pleased. And the crew cleaned up after themselves perfectly. Another thing I was pleased with was Cal Coast's production manager helped me apply and get my city building permit for the new windows. The day of installation, the foreman handed me a nice folder with the printed permit with other instructions. I really appreciated that. Also after installation she worked with my city building department to schedule a final inspection by a city inspector. When the inspector came out, because the product and installation were superb, it passed with no problem. Of course, I paid a little more to have this permit processing service, but it was well worth it. Finally, as you can tell from this rather long review, I'm very pleased with our experience with Cal Coast and the Milgard products. I add my 5-star review to others that have gone before me for Cal Coast!

Have used Enrique's Tile for my former San Ramon home - he installed marble all throughout my…read moreground floor. For my Danville home - I had hideous colored concrete floor for the Italian/Mediterranean home. I upgraded/renovated and had Enrique's Tile install travertine. I love marble but the maintenance is just too much (3 teenagers and 2 cats) unlike the travertine. Still beautiful, natural stone but less maintenance. I will gladly recommend Enrique's Tile; will use again for future projects.
