Cory and the rest of the folks at Benchmark saved our Alaska road trip from a brake meltdown!…read more Traveling up from the Idaho border, we started to notice some noise coming from the brakes. At our next stop, had a local shop check the brakes and found they needed new front pads. However, the shop there would not have been able to fit us in for four days, which would have completely scrambled our plans. So, started calling shops ahead on our route to see if anyone could help us out. The minute Cory picked up the phone, I knew we were in competent hands. I explained the problem and told him we'd be in Prince George in a couple of days. He said "no problem", asked a couple of the right questions, and told me he could order pads to be ready when we got there. A couple days later, I rolled into Benchmark at 8 AM when they opened. Met Cory and the rest of the crew, and they told me they'd get right on it. They had me out and on the road by 10 AM, and much relieved at their helpfulness and conscientiousness. If I lived in Prince George, they'd be my regular shop!

The driver of the flat deck who did the second tow was friendly and relaxed. I was very ill and didn't know if I could drive the the new location without a break. He insisted that we take our time and he would wait. He was helpful, and considerate. I know he had, had a long day already with 3 or more hours (one way) ahead and as we later learned was under some time restraint, but he did display any anxiety. He was friendly and efficient a pleasure to deal with. The quality of service was top notch and excellent value.

When I went to pick up the care he had not fixed the original problem and done what he said was ~$300 worth of other work, of course which was what I specifically asked him not to do. I said I was not responsible to pay him since he did not do what I had asked and he had not fixed the original problem. He threw the keys at me and started cursing at me over and over telling me to go "f" myself. I picked up the keys and said, nicely, you know, that's not going to fix this. He kept screaming at me. I left and drove the car away. He got angry and violently upset when I objected to him trying to rip me off. All this is completely accurate.
