We came to Crafthouse after playing a couple of games at Cool Springs. The restaurant is about five minutes from Cool Springs. The Atmosphere is great with lots of seating, a large bar area, and a nice stage. I wouldn't mind going back and watching a show. I came with my son and his friend. The food was just ok. We started out with Truffle Fries. They were kind of warm. I did enjoy the sauce that was with them. My son had boneless wings. His buddy had chicken Mac and cheese. I had the ranchero Flatbread. Everything we had was just ok. The menu is pretty extensive and also pricey in my opinion for pretty mediocre food. read more

This review is purely about the experience for a concert as we did not eat anything when we were there. I'm sure the experience varies based on the band and whether or not the show is sold out. Ticket fees are high which is annoying but expected. If you weren't already lined up before the doors even opened you weren't getting a seat. We went and picked out a spot on the floor. It was as a bit difficult to order drinks as they didn't seem to have a good system in place. In addition it was frustrating as their digital beer menu was not up to date and a few beers we tried to order had kicked. Initially I would say they had a decent selection but then since they were out of things the list didn't seem to have as much variety. Beers were a bit pricey for what you got. I'm not sure if the prices are the same during regular dinner service versus a show or not. Parking can be tough and be warned that areas around the venue do tow. They try to push you to use their valet for sure which isn't always ideal and then there was quite a line to get your car at the end. They park vehicles in the handicap spots (that don't have handicap placards) and park cars in the lines between these spots. This certainly doesn't seem like the way to do things to me. We lucked out and were able to get a spot to the side right in the main lot. By the time the main act went on the floor area had filled in but not to the point of being overly crowded so you could still move about as needed. There was several people vaping before and during the show despite their being a smoking area outside. Security didn't seem to care. The sound was off balance towards the beginning with the instruments overpowering the vocals but they did seem to get it corrected. Overall the sound was good and not overpowering. They do have bowling and it appears axe throwing in addition to the restaurant and music venue so it could be a cool place to have a night out. It's across town for us so I'm not sure we would return unless it's for a concert we really want to see. read more

I am surprised this place has such low reviews. I actually quite enjoyed the meal I had here. I got to try out the cajun chicken sandwich with a side of their fries. It was very tasty. The chicken was juicy and seasoned nearly perfectly. It had the perfect tenderness to it; not too plasticy like at other places. Tasted natural and fresh, which is surprising for a bar. The bun was also nice. They cover the chicken in a tad of cheese but don't overdo it, which I like. The Chipotle aioli sauce was amazing. The perfect balance of spiciness and creaminess. Went perfectly with the chicken, and was also a great dipping sauce for the fries. The fries were crispy and flavorful. Seasoned very well without being excessive. Pretty close to perfect texture. Very nice overall. All in all, a great bar. Worth trying out for sure. I recommend their chicken and their fries....and the aioli is delicious too. read more

We came for bar bingo this night. We made a reservation since there was group of us. I have a mix of feelings about this place to be honest. Our service was lacking. I worked in the restaurant industry so I understand being busy, but we were here well before bingo to ensure we could take advantage of happy hour specials and it was like our waitress was waiting for HH to be over before she offered up her services. We had to flag her down and she seemed annoyed or rushed the entire time we were talking to her. She didn't explain anything about the menu or HH. I ordered the pierogies that I got tossed in buffalo sauce. I wasn't really expecting much but they ended up being pretty darn good! I would get again! They definitely weren't Mrs. T's pierogies which i respected even more. The Bingo itself was fine, the person running it wasn't entertaining it was just straight forward bingo. When we saw Modern English was coming we bought tix immediately - I had no idea where this venue was but we had to go to see them. What a fun place to see a band! Can we start with the bowling alley that's attached so if you don't like the music you can bowl? The venue is big enough that you don't feel cramped and it's like Jergel's where you can get up close and personal to see the band. Lots of tables and a huge bar area. We were able to find seats at the bar and ordered some delicious eats. You must get the bagouda balls - little deep fried balls filled with bacon and Gouda - amazing! The flatbread pizza was delicious too - we opted for the crafthouse flatbread - a nice shareable size. I went to Crafthouse for bar bingo night. Upon walking in, the place is huge. It is probably a good place to see live bands as they have an awesome set up and large space with a nice stage. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed or if it was the normal amount of servers, but for the amount of people there, they could have used more workers. I waited 10-15 minutes for my first drink to come. We put our food orders in early to make sure we got our food and others who ordered way later than us got their food first. When we asked our server she said she would go check. About 5 minutes later we got our food. My boneless wings were cold, cold and they are more like mini nuggets than actual boneless wings. The bingo itself was kind of boring compared to other bar bingos I've been to around the area. There wasn't really any excitement in the bingo at all. It is connected to bowling lanes and axe throwing so there is a lot to do in this location. read more

Who knew this great venue was tucked away in the middle of residential Whitehall!!? We arrived well after the doors opened/ show started and were able to find parking in the venue's lot, get in quickly, and move about the venue with ease. We were very impressed by the layout, service, and cleanliness. We attended a death metal show and enjoyed parts of the show from both near the stage and at the bar. Both experiences were equally enjoyable. Pro tip! If you don't think the show will sell out, buy your ticket upon arrival vs online. There was an 8 dollar service fee per ticket online that was not included in the fee when we purchased in person from the venue. We weren't planning to get food but I saw someone's nachos and was sold. Nachos have 2 options: chicken or pot roast, and pico or mango salsa. We selected chicken as our protein and pico de gallo. Highly recommended. Perfect for sharing and snacking during a show! Not sure why we waited so long to see a show here. We'll absolutely return for a show AND BOWLING. read more

Wow, is this place amazing! Came here with friends for a night out which I have not done for a very long time. We came out to celebrate a birthday which meant that it was the friend's choosing. The night we were here a Godsmack cover band was playing. To be aware, it can be extremely loud in here, but you should expect that if you were coming here to see a show. It is such a lively atmosphere in here. Customer service was spectacular and they somehow timed it just right to show up when we were in need. Our server allowed for us to chat amongst each other while we browsed over the menu. Once we were ready she was there to take our orders. I went with the Crafthouse Burger. This is a massive burger due in part of the toppings. I think we have to take a moment to acknowledge the fact that the burger patty is a mix of black Angus, chuck and short rib, which made for a hearty blend. For the Crafthouse you then take that patty and top it with their Crafthouse sausage, cheddar, pickle, onion straws, and BBQ sauce. I opted to to upgrade to tots, because...well tots. It took me some time to figure out how to unhinge my mouth so I could take a bite. Once I figured it out I was off to the races. It was definitely a stomach pleaser, bordering on a gut buster. The tots were a nice addition, I'm not sure the seasoning they put on them, but it was amazing. With the meal out of the way it was time to sit back and enjoy the rest of the night. Great selection of beer on tap and what they didn't have on tap they were able to supplement with bottles and cans. Full bar here, if a mixed drink is your thing, then they got your covered. This is a super nice local concert venue. For a first-timer and newcomer to Pittsburgh who lives in the center of the city, the drive out here seemed to be taking me to the middle of nowhere, but it was only a 30 minute drive (driving through a number of small towns). Note that the venue is on a hill above the main street, so it is easy to bypass. I found it within minutes though after I turned around. The venue itself reminds me of a local version of City Winery (coming to the Strip District sometime soon), with more of a focus on beer than wine. The seating is quite reminiscent of that venue as well with many tables facing the stage (I have been to the City Winery in Nashville). As for food, there are many choices. I tried one of the mac and cheese bowls which was good, but overly filling and rich. I would probably try a burger or something different next time. It also came with a side salad that was good, but rather run-of-the-mill. I was more in the mood for a glass of wine, and I will say they poured a very generous amount! By the time I arrived, the self-parking was full in the back, so I used the valet option and it was fine. All in all, I would definitely return here if the right artist drew me back. Went to this venue for the first time last night to catch a national touring act and wasn't sure what to expect based on the pictures I saw. While it is a little bit of a hike, I can see this becoming a favorite venue. Connected to a bowling alley the concert side is set up with tables and chairs on a first come basis, full bar, & a little floor area. We were able to snag a table and scoped out the venue, they have a full menu ranging from appetizers & salads to burgers & entrees. Staff was friendly. We ended up grabbing an order of the chicken strip with maple bacon sauce. The serving was enough for two people. The show was great, tables have a great view and the sound was on point. I'll definitely be keeping an eye in upcoming concerts or just make the trek out for dinner & bowling. read more

I like seeing bands at the crafthouse. Been there for that a few times. Went there last week for just food during happy hour. The beer selection and the price of drinks is spot on. The food was average. I got a margarita flatbread pizza and it was okay. It wasn't very hot when it came out. My homie got boneless wings and a side salad. He said the salad was mid and the wings were good but many tiny chicken chunks, not a mix of larger and smaller chunks like you would expect. Well this is a hidden gem! We were here to see Modern English! ( who was amazing) 1. Venue is great to see a favorite band. You can be up close. Sound was great. Tons of tables & great bar to sit at & a small dance floor which is right by the stage! 2. Since we arrived early we took advantage of the awesome selection of beers on tap & food. My husband shared the wings with "The bomb" sauce. We requested them to be cooked a little more crispy( came out perfect) with the house cut fries, served with homemade beer cheese dip. Yum!! Then we had the "Short rib Ranchero" flat bread - very flavorful on great hand stretched dough. & the Bagouda Balls - ohhh my - crispy parm bread crumbs with the right amount of gouda & bacon . Service was wonderful. They were there whenever you needed them. We will definitely go back and see another show here! I started off my meal with the buffalo chicken wings, and they were some of the best I've ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was just the right amount of spicy. For my main course, I had the steak sandwich, and it was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sandwich came with all the fixings. So this was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a cool venue (with an attached bowling alley) that has a bar and restaurant style seating with a pretty kick ass sound system for the national acts that come through to play here. The staff is really nice and professional. No matter how busy they got the bartenders never ignored me and even took the time to let me try a couple of pours I'd never had before. They have quite a selection of beers too. Very impressive. Also the prices weren't terrible at all! I expected to pay a lot more than I did. Not complaining at all about that. read more

I would highly recommend that the bartenders be a bit more interactive with their customers. The females are just mean to others. This isnt based on my one experience. This is feedback from various people that I have taken with me to this venue. Cheer up, buttercups. Life could be worse so please treat your customers well or you won't be tipped. I went to this brewery / restaurant / music venue for the first time to see a show with an internationally touring performer. The music (what I would call "happy hardcore") was not really my thing, I was invited by a friend, but they had a great turn out. This sound system is very good, a lot of time, attention, and money has been put into it and it's worth it. I think it's a great venue for touring performers who want a Monday night gig. (Thank goodness we can have live music again!!) It's a bit off the beaten path for the City of Pittsburgh since it's in the South Hills but as a destination venue and as a venue for the local community. I think that this place will continue to be successful and I would definitely come here to see a show in the future. We had VIP seats which worked out between the group of 7 for the price. Great view of the stage and the crowd (for people watching as we all like to do). The sound could have been louder but if it were louder it would have made people uncomfortable so in my opinion the sound person had a great handle on the situation. We had some snacks and drinks and I was very impressed by how good everything was. We had nachos, hummus and chili and my friends had a jalapeño burger with fries, and 1 other burger (not sure what it was). The house queso blanco on the nachos was exceptionally good and the hummus was great too. My friends annihilated the burgers and fries so I can only assume that they were good. Everything came out right away, hot and fresh. The service in this place is AMAZING! Specifically the person who was assigned to our vip table was exceptional. She went out of her way to make our experience great. We were very impressed. I don't drink beer but some of my friends were tasting the selections. When one of my friends didn't like her first choice, it was replaced immediately with another selection for no charge. I was sipping martinis with a couple of others in my group. These martinis were perfect! So also many accolades to the bartender(s). The parking situation might be tight since it's shared with the bowling alley but I think that's a good problem to have as a business. I know that South Hills parking is very difficult knowing the rules of the borough but I think that the free valet parking that they offer now can make up for the negative complaints in previous reviews about parking. read more

Great venue, we were told we would have ADA seating but when we arrived only available seats were really tall chairs that two of our party couldn't really use without pain! Terrible sound system, couldn't hear the vocals it was so low. Food would have been excellent if it wasn't cold. The waitress took our order, came back 25 minutes later to take our order again. 55 minutes later finally received our food, cold as ice,$15 burgers were dried out and nasty! No apologies or comps for any of the cold food! We travel to well over 200 concerts in many states, this is by far the worst ran one we have been to! Although the website said they open at 4:30 PM, because it was a concert, their doors opened at 6:00 PM. It was a little confusing based on the hours that were posted on their website. Seating was first come, first served and we got a table near the floor/stage area. It was really nice because we were able to sit there for the entire concert! I had the buffalo chicken wrap with grilled chicken and fries. It was good, your typical buffalo chicken wrap. We also ordered the bagouda balls. They were okay - a perfect portion to split between me and my friend! Our waitress was really nice and checked in on us often, especially once the concert started. Bought tickets for a concert, which was really just a dj, no love music, spent over $100 on drinks within our group and at the end of the night two of us wanted glasses of water and they refused stating they could only sell us tiny little bottles for $3 each. I went to see a show at Crafthouse for the first time last week. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, because I heard it was in a bowling alley! I was also a little annoyed and judgy about the fact that it was in the suburbs 30 minutes away, and I couldn't take an uber. lol! My friend and I went to the show just in time for the headliner. I think doors were at 5 and we went at 8:30 knowing he would play around 9. We did have trouble parking since the whole parking lot was full...but we were probably the literal last people to arrive. We parked down the hill on a residential street, so that was fine! Walking up to Crafthouse we were very confused - it said escape room, axe throwing, bowling alley, and music venue all in one? Why was I never here before? We show the guy at the front our tickets and he scanned them easily. It was weird to walk in to what felt like a restaurant. There were people eating at the tables and the bar was packed. We kept walking through the crowd and then saw the stage with the pit. The venue size was perfect for this type of acoustic show. We waited for drinks at the bar for a while as there were only 2 bartenders. We didn't eat anything, but it seemed like most people at the show had been there for a few hours eating/drinking. The show started and the sound was great! I was really impressed. It is a cool and comfortable venue. I will be back! read more

Come out to see Dirty Shirley and had a great time. The place is big with a high ceiling so the volume wasn't all that loud (but we were at a front table so while they played- we couldn't talk much). However, if you're thinking about going - DO NOT bring anything of value with you. Someone stole my Michael Kors coat off of the back of my chair. It was a limited edition jacket and I buy it again. It was a Christmas gift from my mother who has stage four cancer. I asked a manager if they could review the cameras, and they would not. So ladies and gents, don't bring your Coach purse or wear your favorite Northface! It's a shame, because it absolutely ruined our night. read more
