Fred, "The Beer Guy" at Sam's is a craft beer genius! He will give you the low down on all the different styles of beers the store has to offer...The selection here is fantastic! You can pick and choose single bottles of beer...so you don't have to invest in a whole six pack of the unknown. They have a beer club you can join- for 15 dollars a month you get a selection of eclectic beers- it gives one the opportunity to try some things you may never choose on your own. Fred is super nice- he doesn't mind answering questions about the different brews available. If you've been interested in trying some of the many craft beers out there, this is the place to start!

For someone who cannot eat wheat, there were not many safe options. Even the BBQ sauce contained wheat. I was still able to have a few things, but overall, the options were limited. The band was very loud at first, but they did turn it down slightly, which helped a lot. We originally went expecting an afterparty connected to an event I participated in earlier that morning. I've been to afterparties before, and they are usually in a clearly designated, blocked-off area for participants and sometimes families. When we arrived, there were actually three different events happening, which is great--but it made things confusing. Parking was also difficult, and there were no accessible parking spots available at the time since all three were taken. The venue itself has a main restaurant, outdoor seating, a food ordering area, and a separate bar. There was a sign pointing toward another building connected to the restaurant that mentioned the morning event I attended, so we followed it. However, something didn't feel right. When I asked staff for clarification, they weren't sure whether the area was for runners/participants or only for company staff. About 20 minutes later, we learned it was actually only for staff. The signage was very misleading, and I wasn't the only one confused. Even the front staff seemed unsure of what was going on, which made things more frustrating. The event coordinator wasn't available, so it felt like communication was lacking across the board. In the end, we still got our food and drinks and had a good time, but it was a confusing experience overall. I do feel for the staff who were put in a difficult position without clear information. Clearer signage would have helped a lot--for example, specifying the company name and clearly stating whether the area was for employees only or open to participants from the event that morning. Better communication in the event emails would also have made expectations much clearer about what was open to the public versus staff only from the start. Overall, it is still a nice place to hang out and enjoy food and live music, but the event setup and communication definitely need more clarity.

He is a gentleman who knows his beverages and it shows in every nook and cranny of the distillery. The logo is amazing. Crafting the packaging was important to Richard and it shows. The bottles practically jump off the shelves and into your hands. I'd try it once just for the sexy logo and I'll keep buying it because it's delicious. The distillery is beautiful and the tasting room is exquisite. Stop by to purchase product and/or have a tasting yourself. Richard is a perfect host. They opened not long ago but have already crafted a couple of special Copper Creams for the winter season - Salted Chocolate Truffle and my personal favorite, Pecan Praline. They are planning on releasing a new spring/summer beverage too so I can't wait to taste that! To be honest I'm not much of a vodka drinker but a few sips of theirs made me change my mind. It's incredibly smooth! Richard takes pride in his work and only serves the best products that he will stand behind 100%. When I buy their product I know I'm buying the best and that love and hard work went into the process. Finding Copper Horse is the only difficult thing... it's on Huger Street behind Stronghold. Drive to the end and park. Climb a few steps and you're in distilling heaven. They seem to have a pretty large selection with what appears to be alcohol & wine on one side and beer with refrigerated options on the other side. Both sides have registers for check out and you are required to check out separately with whatever you pick up from each side. This a pretty straight forward shop... you know what you want, grab it and check out. As a New Yorker I find sometimes you can find cheaper prices when you visit the area, but here they have @home prices which wouldn't make this my first option. The older women at checkout was extremely pleasant where as the younger gentleman seem to be short and sharp for what appeared to be just because he choose to. They accept cash & cards with a $5 minimum. Just A Note: Sign says they will now open @ 10am as of 1/14 for those whom need an early start. They close at 7pm and do not open on Sundays.
