I was dealing with blood blisters, a poor latch, doubts and fears about supply, and a baby that was temporarily not gaining enough weight. As a first-time mom, it was extremely stressful, and there were many tears. However, Juliana's visits always left me feeling more informed, reassured, and capable. We also did a weighted feed during every visit, which confirmed that my baby was indeed getting enough to eat. I still remember the relief I felt when I learned that. Juliana is a big reason why I decided to stay the course with breastfeeding. (Thank goodness, because now I LOVE it.) My insurance covered the cost of the visits, so I just paid the $60 travel fee. I also attended her breastfeeding class with my husband before giving birth. This was super helpful, but I recommend taking the class within 1 month of your due date. We took it a bit too early in my pregnancy, and forgot a couple things by the time I gave birth. Overall, I would highly recommend booking a lactation consultation with Juliana if you're in need of support!

After a month, we saw no change. Switching to exclusive formula feeding seemed like the only sustainable option, but I was heartbroken at the thought of giving up breastfeeding. A lactation consultant from my breastfeeding support group strongly recommended Janae as a last try. She was able to come over the very next day and helped us create a new plan to increase my supply and gradually reduce bottle feeding. Throughout the process, Janae was always available over text. She offered practical guidance on how to move toward our goals and emotional support that helped me trust the process. Before meeting Janae, I truly felt like there was no hope for my breastfeeding journey. She completely changed the game for me and my son. I am no longer inflamed, the engorgement in my breast is manageable with her massage techniques, and my positioning, while breast-feeding allows for my baby to maximize eating. She is worth her weight and gold and is a complete godsend. I would highly recommend her for anyone who is pregnant or recently postpartum because she will completely change your life for the better.

They showed us how we could achieve the dream goals we had for those first precious weeks while also honoring our modest budget. Not knowing what to expect, as this was our first child, we did understand that having someone with us would change everything. We were quickly linked with a few doula interviews and fell in love with one of them. Our schedules aligned and boy did it ever change our lives. I can't imagine not having our doula there for those critical nights of transitioning into parenthood, while making space for healing and recovery. We both slept more than we ever thought possible, while our son was cared for better than we could have imagined, AND we learned so much to build a foundation of comfort and confidence moving forward. No family member or friend would have been able to step in the same way. If you have nothing else on your registry other than a fund for this...do just that. It will change your whole early parenting experience for the better. Thank you to One Moon Doula and their network of Angels.

She was able to correctly diagnose my baby boy's latching problems due to lip tie and tongue tie. Hiring Peggy for in-home consultation and then deciding to do the tongue and lip tie revision by Dr. Najmeh at Little Star were the best decisions we've ever made in our breastfeeding journey. I've had pretty horrible pains in the first 4 weeks of my baby's life when breastfeeding that I almost gave up. I was feeding him 20+ times a day and sometimes hours at a time because the baby had a bad latch and could not drink efficiently. When we consulted Peggy and she recommended the revisions for the baby's tongue tie and lip tie, we were surprised because none of the previous lactation consultants was able to diagnose the condition and kept telling me to feed through the pains. After a month of pain and no sleep I knew something wasn't right, and we are so glad we hired Peggy! After the tongue and lip tie revisions were done, Peggy stayed with us so that I could try breastfeeding the baby. What a difference it had made! My baby could finally use his tongue! He was able to drink my milk so well I cried in joy. Ever since the revisions were done, he's been feeding and sleeping so much better! We are starting to feel like human again! We kept seeing Peggy until we felt comfortable with breastfeeding and it has made a world of difference. If you are having any challenges with breastfeeding and need support, I highly recommend Peggy. Peggy also holds free breastfeeding support groups at this office if you'd like to measure your baby's weight before and after breastfeeding as well as get support.

She gave us specific exercises to work on and helped us go slow and rebuild positive associations. Seriously, I was at the point where it was pay for support or quit breastfeeding (which wasnt really an option as my daughter hates bottles and screams the house down!). When my daughter was screaming, getting gassy, having problems latching and I was in such pain it was time to call in the expert! I had spoken to two doctors and a number of lactation consultants at breastfeeding support groups and what kept coming up was "thrush" or poor latch. Sarah came to my house, watched how I fed my daughter, helped with some positioning and also checked how I pumped and my daughter's mouth. It was found that my daughter had a tongue tie (which had not been diagnosed by anyone previously...) and could easily be rectified. Additionally it was confirmed by Sarah that I was also experiencing Raynaud's. Sure enough we took my daughter to the doctor and she had the tongue tie operation and since then almost all of the problems have been solved. I really was at my wits end. Sarah is professional but friendly and is also very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone who is having any problem with breastfeeding. Sarah regularly contacts me for updates and provides information wherever needed. Amazing service which ensured we could continue feeding!

From the moment I met Grace, she was warm and caring and made me feel safe, and encouraged me. My wife and I reached out to Grace for help breastfeeding with our second son. My wife let her know from the beginning that we are not interested in doing a tongue tie revision - this was because we did it with our first son and it was traumatic and did not actually help with his breastfeeding. Even though my wife was clear about this, Grace continued to lecture about tongue tie revisions and tongue tie risks throughout almost the entire session. She offered some but not much help outside of offering tongue tie info. The session was not very helpful for our family. Also, it's important to read the fine print that even though the session is quoted as $100, you have to pay a non refundable $25 deposit beforehand. We saw another lactation consultant a few days afterwards who was significantly more helpful - she listened to our situation and spent 2.5 hours helping us with techniques and tips to have a healthy breastfeeding relationship without a tongue tie revision. I believe Grace is a good person and doing what she believes is best and helpful, but it just may not be the best care for every family.
