Lindsey was a blessing. She was more than I could have asked for. I don't have family nearby to help so I looked into doula services. She made me so comfortable with her caring for my newborn, which is very hard to let someone else do. She was very easy to get along with and offered tips and advice that were so helpful to me, even as a second time mom. Found OMD through Labor of Love Birth & Postpartum and spoke with Kathryn and Lindsey. They were both really open to all of my questions, gave me advice and insight into what to expect and how to make a decision on what kind of doula I needed (day vs night doula) and how many hours of care. Their answers were thorough and a few days after putting a deposit down and submitting my questionnaire, I was given information on doulas who were available as well as feedback they were given from previous clients so I could get a sense of what kind of person the doulas were. It was overall a very smooth process and OMD made it easy for me to find doulas I could trust. We ended up hiring a day doula 3x a week for 4hrs each day and a night doula 3x a week for 10hr a night for just the first month postpartum. This worked out for us based on the help we needed and the budget we had. We were really happy with the doulas we had and felt it was so worthwhile getting the help we did in such a crucial time period. I would recommend this service to others who are searching for a doula and need helping looking for someone they can trust. I loved the doula that I was paired with by one moon. I trusted her with my daughter and was never worried about anything when she was staying at my house. She did both day shifts and over night shifts. It was nice to have someone else get to know my daughter so I could ask very specific questions about her needs so that I could take better care of her. read more

When I was pregnant & exploring the postpartum doula concept, I admit I was hesitant. Did I really need this layer of support? My wife and I cannot thank One Moon Doula enough for working with us on short notice. As first-time parents, and not a lot of family in the area, we had no idea what we were in for. One Moon Doula's help in finding a good fit for our little one was a godsend. Lara was a gamechanger. The stress reduction for us when we went through a challenging early period, particularly as new (and amateur) parents can't be stated strongly enough. I used One Moon Doula several years ago. I didn't feel a super click with the person hired to be my doula. But more importantly, when we weren't able to work out a mutually-preferred schedule, I went past the 60 day window (or whatever the timeline was), and Kathryn didn't refund my money. And yet the last contact by phone, text and email was on my end to them. I felt pressured to pay ahead of time $1600 and then over $800 wasn't used. It was definitely not worth the money I spent, and I recommend thinking twice before you pay this in advance. I asked several times for reimbursements and was told that I could not have it (even though, again, the fault was at least equal - as I asked my doula for different dates and was told she was booked). read more

One Moon Doula is amazing! I have to say Patricia is incredible. She is always looking for ways to help with the baby, gives great advice, has researched information on postpartum groups near me, and is very interactive with my toddler daughter. We're very happy with her and all that she does. I believe she's made a huge impact on the transition of having one child to two, our eldest daughter's response to that impact with not feeling pushed aside, and my own mental state. She's great with reminding me to rest and to take care of myself. I'm such a go, go, go type of person and she stops me and reminds me, which has proved to be very helpful. What a sanity saver! As first time parents we had a list of to-do's to complete, a lot of to-do's, and hiring a doula was definitely on our list. I feel like every new mom that doesn't have the luxury of help/family needs this service! I delivered my first child 2 weeks before my due date. My mother in law had planned to be here before my son's birth but because he came early, I was going to be alone with my new son and I had zero baby skills for over a week. We had such a wonderful experience with our doula, Stevie over the summer of 2019. She was so sweet, thoughtful, personal, loving, a knowledgable expert, and a happy smily person. She was a superpower of organizing the house, housework, and all logistics of taking care of the baby and more. I got precious naps while she was doing all the work. I got a lot of emotional supports and she was always on my side listening to my concerns and gave me warm feelings when I left alone taking care of the little one. Our 5 month old twins were a mess when it came to sleeping. Bed time was taking hours and night wakings were very frequent. The loss of sleep and free evening time was really placing stress on us. We contacted Kathryn for help and she was immediately helpful. At our first meeting she was able to assess our needs, our girls, and offer help that met our parenting style. She was always understanding and non-judgmental and really seemed to care about all of our well being. After our meeting, Kathryn was able to provide us with a sleep plan to help all of us get healthier sleep and help our daughters learn much needed self-soothing skills. She fully understood the special needs of twin households and did everything she could to support us. When we would hit bumps in the road, Kathryn was available via email, text, and phone calls. We got in touch with Kathryn after our second little girl was born. The first is still very little and sometimes has a bad night, so we were hoping to get help with the infant during the night. The thought of leaving our 2 week old with a stranger for the night was a little scary (even thought we are in the next room over). But we decided to try it and are SO glad that we did. Our baby girl is now 5 months old and we continue to enjoy this wonderful service. Here is why I give One Moon Doula 5 stars (would give more if I could) 1. Kathryn sent over a Doula that has been phenomenal!!! She is incredible with our daughter, always has an amazing attitude, and has never been late. 2. Our seven month old son was having trouble sleeping through the night - waking up as frequently as three times for feeding. With both of us back at work, we were under pressure to get his sleep routine under control - even our doctor put pressure on us to bring in help! We read sleep books, considered a night nurse, and pretty much everything else...We live in London and Kathryn was recommended to us. We were skeptical of the distance and not sure if a "skype consultation" would do the trick. We exchanged emails with Kathryn to let her know what we were experiencing and then had a few conversations. Kathryn made the science of our son's sleeping easy for us to understand and gave us a few ideas that seemed simple but made a huge difference. As parents, we felt much less overwhelmed with the process and within a week, our son was sleeping through the night! He has consistently done so for three months now. We've continued to work on napping, and he generally does three a day...we are still working on stretching the naps out, but his routine is incredibly manageable, and has been since we got in touch with One Moon Doula. One Moon Doula was hands-down the best pregnancy 'purchase' I made. It was truly an investment that has made us better parents -- and we have a happier toddler because of it. Several friends said we didn't 'need' postpartum help. And sure, I guess we would have survived without it, but it would have been a much more stressful experience. With Kathryn's help and support, the first eight weeks were actually quite wondrous -- I had a friend to help cook meals, give me advice, helpful suggestions, and also give me a much needed break. Quite honestly, the only time I slept peacefully in those first few weeks was when Kathryn was at our home. She offered a peace of mind that was invaluable during those first few weeks. And she helped me enjoy the experience, rather than just live through it. By the far one of the best decision's of my life. A colleague of mine,who is a birth doula, recommended that I hire the services of postpartum doulas when she found out that I was having a c-section and that I did not have help from family. I had a very educational and clear discussion with Kathryn, who is an excellent and compassionate communicator, before signing on the dotted line. She set me up with two wonderful doulas, Rebecca and Candace. Rebecca came straight to the hospital and was with me since day 1. I truly cannot fathom how we would have survived the first 2 nights at the hospital without her. With my daughter feeding by the hour and the discomfort that comes with major surgery, it would have been nearly impossible for me to manage the feedings at night. After I returned home, Rebecca and Candace continued to come at night, intermittently, for 2 months. This special time with both the lovely ladies and my baby, I will treasure forever. They brought my baby to me for every feed, gave me company, made my midnight snacks, burped my baby and put her back to sleep each time!! I cannot honestly put into words what a blessing this is for a new, exhausted mom and also for the tired and disoriented hubby! I had endless conversations with them as they kept me company during feeds. Although this was my second baby, I learned so much from both of them and was able to quickly establish a night time schedule for her. I admit I really struggled with my first one and wish I had had the wisdom from doulas back then. Even though our daughter is now 5.5 months old, I still keep in touch with the doulas, as well as Kathryn, asking for advice, giving updates and sharing pictures :). read more

I highly recommend Kathryn if you're looking for a postpartum doula. She was invaluable to me in helping me with my daughter when she was 2-4 months old. I felt comfortable with Kathryn as soon as I met her. She is very easy to talk to and knowledgeable on issues from sleeping and feeding to things like which baby carrier is best and how to find a nanny when our work together was done. And, if she didn't know something, she'd do the research to find out. I really appreciated how non-judgmental Kathryn was-- whether it was breast/bottle feeding or sleep training ideas, she shared her opinion but never made me feel like my ideas were wrong and was always open to finding the solution that would work best for me and my daughter. I also loved that Kathryn would take it upon herself to notice all the little details that would make things easier without my having to ask or things I wouldn't even have thought of that would be helpful-- like taking out the garbage, cleaning the coffee maker so it was ready for the next morning, or cleaning the dishes. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Kathryn and we miss her presence in our home! read more

I have been very impressed with One Moon Doula!!!! I can be a very last minute person (as is the way with lots of parents) and Kathryn and her team of exceptional doulas are always so willing to help me to find someone to assist my family. Britni did some postpartum nights for us after the birth of my son and while the rest of our family including my 2 year old daughter were still trying to adjust to our new routine she made that process so much easier. Britni is incredible! I really can't say enough good things about her. She is so good with our son and as most new parents know it can be hard to trust someone with your newborn but I never felt anything but total trust in her. She also has a lot of knowledge on other topics like breastfeeding and was a huge support to me when I had mastitis. I have postpartum anxiety and felt her to be such a wonderfully calm presence who really truly cared for my family as if we were her own. She would sometimes text me helpful articles as she came across them (always thinking of us and going above and beyond) One night I needed last minute care as lack of sleep suddenly caught up to me and I felt some bad baby blues and despite her husband having just had surgery she found a way to be there for me and I'm so enormously grateful for that. Abbey also did an overnight for us. Again I fully trusted her with our son and she was so warm and friendly it made me feel at ease. I would definitely enjoy having her again - she has a background in being a nanny and I can definitely see why as I know she would be amazing and any family would be lucky to have her! In addition I also had Ivorie come help us for some postpartum day hours and she was fantastic. She has a natural ability with the kids and made my daughter feel very at ease. Although we didn't have time on that occasion to touch on it I know she also can give wonderful nutrition advice which is so helpful when trying to keep up with 2 kids under 2 and breastfeeding. Finally Kathryn has been wonderful to speak with and always goes out of her way with my last minute requests for assistance. She truly knows what it takes to be an incredible doula and I fully trust any one of her doulas in caring for my family. We did not use One Moon in the usual way, i imagine. I called them after my wife was readmitted to the hospital with complications 2 weeks after giving birth to our twins. We had family with the babies during the day, but my wife was fighting for her life and did not want to be away from me in the hospital, so I needed someone I could trust to watch them at night. Kathryn found someone for me immediately. Britni was exactly the person you want in a situation like ours. She was calming, comforting, and extremely nurturing to our girls. She asked me exactly what I wanted done, which was reassuring when we were leaving our babies at a stage where we never expected to be parted from them at all. All in all, Britni and later Amanda came to our house for the nights we were in the hospital, as well as a few nights afterward to help us transition to life at home. We would not have survived what was truly a nightmare without their help. Kathryn was so supportive and understanding when we first spoke on the phone, and it comforted me that she listened to the entire saga, provided some sage advice, and then informed me that she thoroughly vets all of her doulas, so it was okay that we weren't going to have the luxury of interviewing and meeting with them beforehand. In the future, if we have the sleep issues I imagine that are part and parcel of infant twin parenting, I will definitely be in touch with Kathryn. I am so grateful that One Moon exists, and, as my mom put it, they helped us and our babies not only survive our ordeal, but find a way to thrive afterward. read more
