They just opened this Cracker Barrel in the west end of Kellogg off Ridge Rd. Love the gift shop. Getting ready to try Grandma's breakfast!

This is a newly opened location on the west side. I ordered the Grandmas breakfast. It was a lot of food. My husband had a side of grits with his meal and they came out thin and undercooked. Heard other people around us complaining to the waitstaff about the same issue. But other than that, we were happy with our meals. I'm sure being a new location, they will get the hang of things quickly. We will be back.

The waitress Benda ignoring our table after we requested refills.

Long wait, cold food, very slow service. Way better places for breakfast in Wichita, go somewhere locally owned.

By far my favorite meal I had in Wichita (and I ate a lot of meals). Sabor is a smaller restaurant…read moreright in Old Town, it's bright and vibrant. The service was incredible, the owner was walking around talking to tables and the bartender happily offered me suggestions on what to eat and drink. I started with the salmon croquettes. I am so glad I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered these instead of some of the transitional Latin starters on the menu. These were perfectly fried, beautifully crispy but, creamy on the inside. They didn't taste fishy at all and dipped into the fragrant tartar sauce it was an amazing bite. Surprisingly it also came with a flavorful fresh corn and black bean salsa. For my main I went with the suggestion of the bartender (my server) and I was so glad I did. The Churrasco Steak was a standout! And the choices of sauces on the side made this an exciting dish to eat, I would highly recommend ordering more than one sauce. The steak was tender and cooked wonderfully with a nice char from the grill. Sometimes with skirt steak it can be tough and overcooked, not at Sabor! It had a strong garlic and citrus flavor, definitely had been marinated which helped keep the meat tender. The mash on the side I believe was a chipotle mashed potato which elevated a traditional steak and potatoes to something unmistakably Latin. I cannot wait to return here because the menu is large and there are so many special dishes I want to sample.

I asked for a table for 6 and our server Mariah led us to a perfectly set table. She immediately served us waters (Yay!) as she handed us the menus and giving us the happy hour specials. Chris and I have been here a couple of times before and it has never changed! It is still very intimate and cozy! I ordered the Grilled Salmon, Chris had the Beef Fajita bowl, Trizha had the Fish Tacos, Jack had the Dive Burger, Noah had the Chicken Piccata and Houston had Mac n Cheese. Everyone raved about their food. My salmon was grilled to perfection and paired well the orzo! Chris liked his Fajita bowl and said he'll order it again! Mariah was awesome! She was very attentive and thoughtful. She brought Trizha a bowl of ice cream with a fountain and made her birthday celebration a little more special. How fun!

They posted some special additions such as prime rib so we decided to give it a try. The buffet itself was just a step up from a free hotel breakfast with the addition of salad, tomato/cheese skewers and cake. My assumption was the prime rib would be a traditional hand carved piece of meat, nope. I thought it was odd when the server asked if we would like prime rib and she would bring it to the table. She even had the nerve to ask us how we wanted it and we said medium. What came out was a thin piece of tough overcooked what looked to be skirt steak. It was pathetic at best, an insult at worst. For 3 adults with tip our bill was $170. 3 buffets $41 each, $6 each for 2 cups of coffee, tax and a 3% service charge with no explanation. The service was fair but I don't blame the server as she had too many tables. I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't go back. Overpriced for substandard food.

We had just enough time to grab a cocktail at the bar and enjoy the outside area while we waited. Cheers to the very busy bar team. We were waited on very quickly and our drinks is were well balanced and exactly the same. I ordered the Veggie sandwich with aioli dressing and broccoli salad side salad. I would highly recommend this dish if you want something filling but not overly heavy or hot. My friend ordered the sweet potatoes, her personal favorite, and raved about them. The service was great and the place had a relaxed vibe to it. On a personal note: it was really loud (for my taste) conversations had to be shouted to hear and it's hard to enjoy the great weather and outdoor space with the street noise so close ,the motorcycles that liked to crews by periodically to rev their engines several times during our dinner it made it less than enjoyable dining and for conversation. I love a good patio during nice weather but for me the noise level was so high it was hard to truly enjoy the dining experience as a whole. In general a great place to spend the eve in for dinner and drinks if you don't mind shouting and loud noise throughout your stay.
