My daughter and I enrolled in the BLS (Basic Life Support) course with CPR123, attending the class located on Queens Blvd in Forest Hills. We were both pleased with the level of professionalism displayed by the coordinator, making registration effortless. Our instructor, Marie Pauyo, was pleasant, approachable, and took the time to answer all of our questions, lending to a very pleasant atmosphere while learning the basics of life support. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that once the course was completed and you pass the exam, you are able to return within the two year period to sit in on another class if reinforcement is needed. Upon arrival, you are given the BLS manual to keep for future reference. If you are planning on taking a class for the first time, I would strongly recommend getting the manual after registration ( if your schedule permits ) so that you can review the material days before the class. There is a lot of material to cover in a relatively short period of time and I did find it somewhat challenging to remember all the facts needed to hopefully save someone's life if needed. I have taken both the BCLS and ACLS (twice) course with CPR123, at the Mineola and Forest Hills locations, and I have nothing bad to say about them. Their facilities are clean and the equipment is well-maintained. As for the instructors, they are all top-notch. What makes them especially good is the fact that they are all working in the field, and bring those experiences to the classroom. Anyone can get up and teach from a book, but incorporating realistic scenarios into a lesson makes it so much more effective. Sam taught my ACLS class this past weekend. He was outstanding! It was actually refreshing to have a tough instructor. A word to the wise - do not go in to the ACLS class without adequate preparation! Do the pre-test. Read the manual. Watch the videos. It will make the class so much easier. Finally, one really good thing about this company is that they allow you to sit in on additional training classes after your initial, and all the way up to your next renewal date so that you can continue reviewing and not forget your skills in the two years between certification and re-certification. I've taken BLS with CPR123 in the past and have always had a positive experience, so I decided to take ACLS for the first time with them as well. Our instructor Paul was very knowledgeable, friendly, and a great teacher. Since it was my first time taking this class, a lot of the material was relatively new to me. Paul explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and always followed up with us to answer any of our questions. Additionally, he ran the mock codes in a fun, low stress way, which enabled us to demonstrate the skills we had learned in a nonjudgmental environment. I am a "seasoned nurse" and graduated in the 70s. I never enjoyed taking classes as much as I did now. We were old school and were always under pressure. What a great and pleasant surprise to come into such a RELAXED environment. Kudos to Kayle for her wonderful BCLS class. She made it so enjoyable. Once again an amazing experience at CPR 123. I came here to renew my BLS card because I will be starting my first job as a nurse. The first time I came here was in 2017 before I started the nursing program. I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone he needs certifications. In addition, when I was nursing school there were questions in my Fundamental test about BLS so pay attention and more importantly you will learn a lot in these 3 -4 hours. I have taken plenty of CPR classes, even taught them. I was very impressed with this class. I had Mike Russo as an instructor, he was very knowledgeable and attentive. Even after being a CPR Instructor, I learned new things in this class. No videos were used, which was very refreshing. Mike was entertaining and funny, but most importantly his manor of teaching is easy to understand and well organized. I took ACLS and BLS with CPR123 with instructor Tommy at the Queens location. The class was very good, and Tommy was an excellent instructor. I was able to take the BLS portion online and do the skills assessment in class which was very convenient. I highly recommend Tommy as an instructor, he was patient and has a lot of knowledge to contribute to the course that made it both interesting and not intimidating, especially when running the megacodes. I passed both classes and was able to get my results with ecards from AHA within 24 hours time. read more

Instructor was wonderful! Thought the explanation behind why we are doing what we do, the theory associated with AHA, and what should be done realistically. Facility was clean and front desk was very polite! Got everything we needed and the hours flew by. My only criticism was the ebook was hard to obtain - not the fault of the site but a fault on the user-friendliness of the technology they offered. In this case, a simple pdf of the book rather than needing the reader app would be much better. read more

This was my first time getting a BLS certification because my school requires it and my instructor, Thomas Cappiello, made it a super comfortable and fun experience. I had a Monday morning class so there weren't a lot of people, which was good because it set a pretty relaxing environment. We learned the material, did the hands on portion in sections, had a little break, reviewed together and took the exam, for which we were very well prepared. Would definitely recommend. Recertification Success!!! Thanks to Thomas Capiello my recertification was a great success and I learned much more this time around. I had Thomas the first time for my certification as an EMT-B at LaGuardia Community College and he made the CPR class as interesting as he did the EMS course. The person teaching the class was Paul and he is a great instructor, made the material easy to understand and I loved that it's a hands on class where you get to do practice simulation. Mike was an awesome instructor. Hammered in the important points. I usually never remember much from these courses because the instructor feels the need to give me 5 hours of statistics, while interesting I can't remember the main focus of the class.
