So I took a RENEWAL ACLS & PALS courses yesterday(a very long day) with the WORST instructor(R. Makker) EVER. He was rude, unprofessional, arrogant and just a miserable person, and I believe he has no business teaching anyone. First of all he does not explain from the start of the class the rule that you score 84% on the multiple choice evaluation test(that he does not prepare you for, instead teaches you things you do not need to know) at the end of the course. When I took the 1st test I did not score well and he had the nerve to say "why didn't you score a 92%(is not everyone's score private why would you tell me his?!?!) like the other guy that was here" WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!? Who says that to anyone?!?!?! Before Medical school I was a NYC BOE teacher and I could never say that to a student!!!! So once he said that it went downhill from there. Then later in the evening when it was time to take the AHA MC evaluation test for the 2nd course(ACLS), he refused to give it to me because I could not answer some made questions he came up with. I literally told him call your supervisor or manager because I am not leaving until I am allowed to take the ONLY evaluation that is mandatory to pass to get the certification. As he was on the phone with his manager I was forced to listen to him on the phone berating me to his manager(because he was not professional enough to go into another private room). In the end I was allowed to take the test which I PASSED. He claims to be a retired EM physician from his country(India), but I doubt he could ever work in any hospital in the US due to his horrible people skills. LISTEN PLEASE!!! This is NOT a negative review of this NY site(Merrick Rd.) or the company because I, my wife and sister have all taken courses there with NO PROBLEM and had good experiences. This is simply a warning NOT to choose R. Makker as an instructor sad but true EVERYONE IS NOT MEANT TO TEACH!!!! Choose GLEN(unfortunately is at NJ site now)!!! The only reason why I am putting this review out is because I feel I owe it to my fellow colleagues, to make sure they don't experience what I did. FINAL COMMENT: R. I'm giving this training location 5 stars because Sandra Butler my instructor was the best instructor I've ever had teach me CPR!!! I came in there very unsure of myself but she made sure I was doing the proper technique in order to perform "high quality CPR". This training is no joke and it prepares you for the real thing. Come to this training site because you will leave confident in your skills and abilities and be ready to spring into action if you ever need to. Also I'm a new mom and I took this class to learn CPR for my baby if I would have to use it. This gives me great satisfaction to know I can help my baby and others children if there was an emergency. Thank you Sandra Butler for continuing to save lives and passing this very important skill on to other health professionals and everyday people. I realized that I needed to be recertified in BLS as soon as possible. I sent an email to Cecee at 8 pm about a class the next day at 8 am in Moorestown, NJ. I didn't think I would get a response but to my surprise she emailed me back right away! Cecee was so sweet and actually cared about my needs as a professional. Many AHA courses wait until they are full to run a class - Cecee lead this class for just me! She was so thoughtful. She even made sure I had enough water to drink the whole time after I mentioned that I am a nursing Mom. Cecee has thought of every detail in trying to make a comfortable atmosphere for those who take her course. I will definitely be back in 2 years!! This was by far the best ACLS/BLS class that I have ever taken. Location was convenient for me, just have to park across the street in the Autozone Parking lot. The place is cozy and staff was very nice. Coffee was offered to me upon my arrival. The instructor was amazing and one of a kind. His name is Charles. He is a genius in disguise...He has a great deal of knowledge and experience while teaching in a very simple manner, that allows you to understand concepts so easily. I am a healthcare professional and have taken ACLS/BLS in other locations by other instructors and have never enjoyed this course as much as I did with this instructor. 2 thumbs up!! read more

I love this place!! I live in Philly and I needed to get PALS certified STAT but no courses were offered in Philly. When I learned about Learn CPR NYC I immediately called to schedule a course. Scheduling was easy and the staff was avail to answer my questions. Once I arrived we began immediately. The location is easy to find and it's very comfortable inside. Great place to take the course. Its was very personable and not too many people. The instructor Durell was very polite ,professional as well as knowledgeable. He explained things and gave lots of chances to ask questions and had a lot of patience. He gave a good review and recaptured the program before the test . I did not feel anxious as I usually do. Yesterday I took a BLS class taught by Sandra. I've taken many courses in the past and this was by far the best one I have ever taken. Not only did she make sure everything was clean and ready but she kept us engaged the entire time. I can safely say I feel confident in my skills and would highly recommend taking a course there. I have been using "learn CPR NYC for the past 6 years, I usually use the Moorestown NJ location, but I needed my ACLS, and PALS certifications ASAP. Craig was wonderful regarding scheduling and flexibility. I was able to obtain both my ACLS, and PALS within 48 hours of contacting this business. Mr Brooks was my instructor, his knowledge, and skills as an instructor made it very evident that he has an extensive background, and hands on experience in using ACLS, and PALS. Nowadays it's very hard to find great customer service especially in the city. But I have to tip my hats off to Learn CPR NYC, they were friendly professional and well spoken. The lady at the front desk was lovely and my N95 instructor Mr. Simpkins was beyond professional. Very friendly, smiles a lot and teaches you with ease and comfort. Took an ACLS provider course with Erik Knapp and could not have asked for a better instructor. I received great feedback & feel confident in my skills for EKG interpretation & the pharmacology that coincides with it now. Was very well prepared for the post test after our session together & was able to achieve the certification and knowledge to make me a competitive applicant for a RN position. Nothing but good things to say. I'm in PA and found the company through the AHA website. I was happy to see a class in Reading PA, although it's still a start up being managed out of the instructor's home. That said, my instructor Luis, a medic of 20+ years, was simply outstanding. He was very patient, and kindly shared an incredible amount of practical experience. Great and convenient location for BLS/ACLS the workers are pleasant. The class was very small. Which is great for me, that means that I can go there every 2 years for recertification.
