Signed up as an instructor for AHA BLS recertification. The company did not tell me the handouts, i.e., the tests had a fulfillment center, so I paid out of pocket to make copies for materials I needed. It amounted to over 500 pages because there was no information provided, whether they required Spanish or English copies (each test amounted to about 40 pages, 2 tests, in both languages.) That was just part of the printing I had to do. "Oh, we will reimburse you for printing." So after using one ream of paper, a toner (laser printer) and a drum, or part of one. I asked for 25 cents per copy after considering all the factors, and 500 pages at 25 cents a copy is not an unreasonable amount. I was told they have a fulfillment center, after the fact. They gave me no information about the client, whether American or Hispanic, and I went in cold to teach this class. I would avoid working for this company. Signed up for two of us to take the course. In their instructions, they said parking was $1 per hour. When arrived at the parking garage, it looked like it was closed. There was nothing in their instructions stating you had to drive up to the kiosk, then the door would open. Also, although their instructions said there was street parking, there was none available. Followed the instructions and arrived at the loft where the training was to be held. There were about 25 students present, but no instructor. Everyone kept checking their phones to see if there were any texts about the status of the instructor. We also called the number given to us for the instructor, but there was no answer. At about 15 minutes after the start time, several of us tried calling the office, but only got voice mail. About 30 minutes after the start time, I finally got through and the rep said the instructor had a car accident and the class was cancelled. I told her I wanted a refund, and she said I had to submit an e-mail to get a refund. I did not want to reschedule because one of the students present said this was the third time they had cancelled on her. I did not want to waste another Saturday morning driving into the city, paying for parking, and then getting cancelled again. We left less than an hour after we arrived. When I went to pay for parking, it charged me $10. The sign on the kiosk said it was $1 per hour (nothing about $10). There was no number on the kiosk to call, only an e-mail address. I did send an e-mail (it was for the management of the building at 1100 Wicomico Street in Baltimore) and eventually found a number and called several times, but only got voice mail and no response. I wrote an e-mail to the CPR company requesting a refund for the class, refund of the parking fee, and some monies for the wasted trip and time. All they did was refund the class fee. My recommendation - do not spend your time and money with this company. There are others out there, which may cost more, but you will save in the long run. The instructor had a bad attitude, dont know how to talk to peiple, very rude. I paid and extra 19.99 and it fell like they stole that money cause every one got multiply chances regardless of paying the extra. You get several chances regardless. When calling company they are rude as well. The instructor did not explain most stuff on test and when asked a question he talk to you like he dont have the time or we should know it. The class was rushed and be prepared to be in there for 3 hours and than pushed to hurry up to take the test. The girl with him was ok shes the only reason that i agree with the 1 star. He also stopped sevaral times to talk on phone in middle of class while ppl was demostrating skills. The whole company needs to work on their customer service skills. Then the building was in a dirty empty warehouse. There was poor light, bad park of city and parking in garage you had to pay for it nd park on street at own risk even though they say you can. Do more research before picking this company read more
