This review is for the Coronado "recovery suites" which is connected to and located right next door…read morethe surgery center. My mother in law was supposed to spend two nights here after a total knee replacement. I had certain expectations of what this would be like, and unfortunately I was disappointed. She was placed in a recliner chair rather than a bed and was apparently expected to sleep two nights in a chair (that didn't actually happen but for other reasons so keep reading...). She did walk up and down the hall once with a physical therapist. They had no ability to give IV pain or nausea medication, and she was unable to keep anything down after the procedure. They also apparently could not give IV fluids to combat dehydration from not taking any oral intake. She was in pain as a result since she not keep down any oral pain medications and IV medications were not an option. She was presented a menu from... wait for it... Applebee's for her post-operative meal. Nothing says post-op recovery like steak and french fries from Applebee's. Needless to say, she could not eat this as she could not even keep water down. She had chest pain the first night she was there. Staff attempted to perform an EKG, but they were unable to get the EKG machine to work. So they decided to send her to the emergency room where she remained for another two nights in a hallway. The only plus about this facility is that the nursing and ancillary staff were very kind. I don't recommend it for recovery from a total knee replacement, however. Their limited ability to manage post-op symptoms means you will very likely be quite uncomfortable. When she's ready for her next knee to be done we will be looking to have this procedure done in an inpatient hospital with a stay of two nights or so to better manage pain and nausea with IV medications.

OFFICE: Desert Hills Plastic Surgery is located within the Del Webb Medical Office Building, that has ample parking in the adjacent parking garage. Their waiting area is absolutely gorgeous and luxurious, with a beautiful chandelier, paneled ceiling, lush couch, and soft, inviting lighting. You wouldn't think you were anywhere near a medical office building. The rest of their office is clean and professional. I was brought to one of the procedure rooms which was prepped ahead of time. Dr. Hayley Brown herself is fantastic. Her level of knowledge and expertise was immediately evident, and I always felt confident and comfortable enough to ask questions. I felt she took my opinions seriously and helped me to come up with a game plan we both supported. I was a first-time injectable patient, so perhaps my nerves were showing, but she helped me feel very comfortable, helped me know what to expect before, during, and after, and always made sure I was comfortable. I left after saying bye to everyone I had mentioned above - they really felt like a little family there! I loved the vibe! This appointment was only a few days ago, so only time will tell when it comes to results, but I'll update my review as necessary! Dr. Wilson explained Nevada pain management guidelines and how he works with his patients. Before seeing him, I was getting the run around between specialist and who can treat what here in Nevada. I dread getting bloodwork done and don't like needles AT ALL, but I was diagnosed with a vitamin D…read moredeficiency last summer and I requested a recheck at my latest wellness checkup to see if my levels were improving or not. My primary care provider couldn't do same day bloodwork at their office because I had already eaten beforehand, so they ordered tests and I was advised to fast for 10 hours. Alongside this vitamin D recheck, I also received a lipid panel. I wanted to get in first thing in the morning so I could fast overnight, but all early morning times were booked up over several weeks. Normally I visit the Quest on Mountain Vista, but then I learned that this Quest is across the street from my boot camp gym and I decided to book my appointment in the early morning right after getting my workout in. Quest on Horizon Ridge and Carnegie is located way in the back of the parking lot. Note that they do not have a front office receptionist, just a check-in screen. For a quick check-in, scan your driver's license and insurance card at this screen. The waiting room is a little tiny with about eight or so chairs total, however. If it's busy, you can choose to leave and come back 10 minutes prior to the start of your appointment. Right after I got myself checked in, I was called back about 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. Talk about speedy right there. The phlebotomist I saw was extremely nice and helpful, plus the big window they had in the room she was in made my procedure easy and comfortable. It took longer than I was used to because multiple tests were being done on me, requiring multiple test tubes. Towards the end, I did start feeling squeamish because my blood started making these weird squishing noises as it was being loaded into one of the test tubes. And before you know it, my procedure was finished and I was sent on my way. I was very satisfied that I've officially decided to make the switch from Mountain Vista to Horizon Ridge. They were very fast and very friendly.

I had to visit the Henderson location today because I have been experiencing some bad nausea…read moresymptoms. I filled out my paperwork online ahead of time which was easy peasy. The front desk quickly checked me in. From the time I checked in to the time the doctor came into the room was less than 15 minutes. The doctor Reviewed our prior visit notes. He then ordered a prescription for my nausea even though he believed that my nausea wasn't being caused by a GI issue. He also ruled out GERD.

Under the HIPAA Right of Access, medical providers are legally required to provide patients with their own medical records and lab results. Withholding my health data is not only unacceptable, but it is also a direct violation of federal patient rights. It has been incredibly stressful trying to get basic cooperation from their highly disorganized and incompetent staff just so I can transition my care to a new doctor. Save yourself the massive headache and find a gastroenterology practice that actually respects patient rights and basic legal regulations.

The guy that took my blood each time was so nice and friendly. He was great! And did a great job finding my veins. Sometimes that can be hard cuz apparently I have small ones and when I'm fasting it's even harder haha. But he was really nice and encouraging. Fair warning, this place fills up pretty quickly, when I pulled into the parking lot at 6:30, there was already four or five people standing in line. I went in at 6:45 and the line was nine people deep. They're very prompt, and the doors opened right away at 7:00 a.m., and everybody lined up in front of the check-in kiosk. Process went pretty quickly and names were called right away to head back. I think I was seated for no more than 5 minutes before my name was called, they asked for driver's license and insurance card and then gave me a piece of paper and told me to head back. The ladies in the back were very nice and professional. Honestly? This was one of the most painless blood draws I've ever had. She was very skilled and made the process very simple. I had to give a urine sample, as they only have one restroom in the blood draw room. I had to go across the hallway, not a big deal, although I don't like wandering around with a cup of urine in my hand. But I went back in and dropped it into the little white basket and how it was on my way. Bottom line? I don't know about the other LabCorps in the area but this one is at the top of my list. Bonus points. It's in the same medical building as my doctor, so I can kill two birds with one stone when I need to. Need to get blood drawn and are a patient of that facility. You are in luck!
