The owner has an encyclopedic knowledge of music and every record in the shop. I hit him with an old 60s title, looking for the original label, and he walked straight to a stack of records in the front of the shop, flipped through the stack and pulled out an album I've been hunting for across Indiana for over a year. And I got an incredible price, which is important, because this guy is not a price gouger! He actually wants people to get deals on their music -- not greedy like many places we've been to in a 200-mile radius. The opposite, in fact. Make a point of stopping here and spending some time. Come looking for your White Whale and you just might find it like I did.

Also, they had Home Alone playing, so I wasn't bored while I waited for my daughter to shop lol.

It isn't just a hangout for males age 18-25. The selection of games to purchase is smaller than other stores but all the games for sale are IMO good gateway games and most are $50 or less. The store is small, clean, well lit and in the downtown area of Lowell. I recommend a visit.

They were very welcoming as soon as I walked in. I highly recommend this shop for not only their wares, but also for their welcoming and positive attitudes. The owner Alex is great and the environment is very inviting. Whether you are into comics or trading card games Alex has a lot of knowledge and gives great recommendations. I saw him helping a mom with her young son pick out his first ever comic. I could tell that the mom was a little out of her league in a comic bookstore but Alex made sure to help make both the mom and son feel welcomed and invited. He asked great questions to see where their interests were and gave great recommendations for them. Just to see the relief on the mother's face and the excitement in the kids eyes brought me back to how we all got into these hobbies. I hope The Zone is there forever to help more and more people find a home for the hobbies we all love. Thanks for helping me and so many others Alex!

First off, the only reason I recommend this place is for you to have a laugh. Second, I give them 2…read morestars because this place actually has potential. I brought a buddy of mine in here today because I'm pretty sure he thought I was exaggerating about how bad this place is. I've been in here about 3-4 times before and each time was worse than the last. The first time I was in here was almost a year ago. I asked the fella working if he could order a comic book for me. He messed with the computer for a few minutes and then told me it was ordered. For the next few months, I either called or went in and asked about the status of said book. I'm still waiting for that book. This place is an absolute mess. It's dirty and there is no order for anything. Today was the final time I will step foot in this store though. There were a few guys in the back, playing magic or some other card game. The fact that they were playing is not the issue. The fact that they were loud and almost every word out of their mouths was some curse word or the "N" word is the issue. Everyone swears, I get it. But a customer was in there with his young son. I personally would've said something if my child was in there and that was going on. Anyway, a few mins after being there, about 8 or 9 books fell off the over stacked shelf. The customer jokingly said "I didn't do it" and the worker replied "it happens all the time" as he continued standing behind the counter, playing on his phone. Some other customer had to pick the books up. He obviously has no care in the world for this shop and frankly that's sad. My buddy was thumbing through the back issues that he could actually get to and started pulling out books that were ridiculously overpriced. They were damaged and disgusting. One in particular had a coffee ring on its cover. Others had destroyed covers that should've been in the nickle bin. This place needs a complete overhaul and a worker who actually takes pride in their shop.
