One star is generous for this outdated, disgusting salon From numerous brown, moldy water leaks all over the ceiling to broken pedicure chairs to owner yelling out to you from 50 feet away when you walk in the door. The smell of his microwaved food permeated ftom the door exactly across from my pedicure chair The salon was empty for over 1 hour plus besides being outdated it was dingy, dirty and the bathroom was like a storage room complete with mops and buckets. Owner complained he can't get technicians but I bet it's because he doesn't pay a competitive way as he seems rude to them and only interested in collecting his cash He needs a reality check and needs to clean his salon skip this place read more

This place is awful. From the dirty salon to the lack of customer service. I asked for ombré pink and white. She couldn't figure it out. I asked for something else and she couldn't figure it out. So I said forget I dont want color leave it clear. She said just top coat? I said yes. She apparently took it upon herself to use gel and they charged me $42 for no color! I can't believe it! The guy was like oh well she used gel you pay for it. I never not one time asked for gel top coat! Why would I pay for that. First and last time coming here. There are too many other decent places for this kind of awful treatment. Go elsewhere!! Should be no star. read more

5 stars for Cozy Nails. Since moving to Newington this has been our go to spot for nails and pedicures. Starting off by the cleanliness of the place, when you walk in you are instructed to kindly wash your hands, which is just a start to their health consciousness! This is a cute place and it is very "Cozy" so not much waiting room, i definitely would recommend making an appointment, although they will take you without if they can. The owners are so welcoming and always great us by our names, you get a personalized bag with your own items such as a nail file clippers etc, a punch card to keep track of visits and earn money off future visits! Their work is great, they take their time and give each customer their undivided attention while making small talk. My nail shape is always so perfect, i usually just get a gel polish on my natural nail to keep it simple! There are plenty of different types of pedicure services that they offer, as well as waxing and massaging. After you get you services they immediately clean and sanitize that are or equipment, which to me, is a big deal! Love Cozy Nails, I highly recommend! 10 out of 10! read more

It's Nurses' week and our boss surprised us with appointments for Dream Spa Pedicures! First time at Cozy Nail and I have to say I'm impressed. The place looks clean, staff is friendly, quiet enough to zen out if u want and massage chairs; they even did an upper back massage as we were drying our toes. What a wonderful treat all in all. They soak ur feet and ask which scents & lotion set you prefer for the spa treatment. Choices were lavender, green tea, orange, and 2 others I can't remember. They use the same one for the soak, scrub & lotion when they massage. Then they brush on some kind of thick jelly and wrap with serane wrap and warm towel around ur feet. As they're wrapped they file, cut, clean ur toes. Then off goes the serane wrap and onto the scrubber. Scrubbing off the calluses on the bottom of your feet. Doing some other magical goodness they use hot stones and massage ur calves and lotion you up before putting on the polish. So as the polish was being put on I was in a conversation with my co nurse and didn't notice how dark the color was that I chose, I made a comment to my friend and the nail tech offered to change it if I wanted even after having done 10 toes! She didn't mind and changed it for me. What great service! She totally didn't have to! I'm so grateful! As our toes were drying under the fan they had put wax on our heels. They came back to peel it off and they felt so soft! Thank you Cozy Nails for giving us such a great experience! read more

Absolutely love it here at Cozy Nail & Spa! I'm so fortunate to live so close to this nail salon. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming! I can always get right in after work (around 2:45-3pm) for a gel manicure. I've had a variety of the nail technicians and they all do a fantastic job! They also offer complimentary massages while your nails are being done and they have a homemade sugar scrub that they use for your hands! Love it! Only because I have a gift certificate to Crystal Nails in Cromwell did I try that hell hole before coming here to Cozy Nail and Spa. I called Crystal as soon as they opened this morning for an appointment. They told me that they had no openings, but that I could go as a walk in at 2:00. I showed up on time and waited for an hour before leaving. Meanwhile they kept taking calls and walk-ins as I waited. I started to feel like I was at a car dealership where they just tell you what you want to hear just to get you in there. After leaving there I called Cozy and as expected got an appointment in 20 minutes, exactly the time it would take to get there. Anybody want a free gift certificate to a place you'll never want to go back to? Check the reviews - the difference between the ratings at Crystal Nails vs this place is like night and day. Horrible place! Went in there with my gf and rude young mexican girls were talking crap about us in spanish. I know spanish lady! Terrible place all they did was giggle and insulted us in spanish. I've been going to Cozy's for 3 years prior and haven't had an issue with as of recently. Owner was a few seats away and I loudly said I'm not coming back here and she didn't flinched. This salon really stands out from the rest. The quality of manicure and pedicure out shines and out lasts any other nail salon I've been to. Everyone who works here has great attention to detail. This salon takes their time and makes sure every customer walks out the door 100% satisfied. I stopped in last weekend for a pedicure and shellac manicure which I could not be more pleased with. My first time experience at Cozy was ok. Just recently moving from Boston to the area...I had high expectations. The owner and his wife Anna are very nice. Anna greeted me at the door and assisted me with choosing a color for my pedicure and nails. Although, my pedicure was done by an intern which I wasn't really pleased about. I had to do all of coaching and prompting; the paint job wasn't so great either. The back massage she gave was great though. Anna did my nails which she knew exactly what I wanted for my coffin shaped nails. I will try this place again but simply request Anna or her husband to take care of me. read more

The BEST salon around! Extremely pleasant staff, clean, professional and accommodating. I'm tall (6ft) and the massaging pedicure chairs actually move back far enough that I'm comfortable w/o putting my feet in the technicians face!! Their chocolate spa pedicure is a DREAM!! Free WiFi is a plus. Note - you need to pay tip in cash - cannot tip on a card. They have a discount program for return customers which is nice - you can currently earn money off your 10th visit. Usually never have to wait to be helped (usually go late afternoon like 3:30). Great pedicures and manicures for the price. The polish on my toes lasts a very long time and doesn't chip (and I wear open toed dance heels and am on my feet a lot at work). The polish usually lasts about a week on my hands which is great because I'm rough on my hands and wash them a lot throughout the day. Staff is always very friendly and welcoming. read more

While this place is a little out of my way, I absolutely love coming here for pedicures. For $27 you get an anything but basic pedi with paraffin heel treatment and hot stone massage on your legs. The technicians are thorough and do a really nice job painting the nails, and they even throw in a minI shoulder massage as you're waiting for your nails to dry. I walked by this nail salon at 7:10pm on a Tuesday night, and was surprised to see the lights on, and neon "open" sign lit. I saw one customer getting her nails done and walked in to find out if they were still open. The customer, obviously a regular, answered, "they're closed. they close at 7pm". But the woman who was painting her nails asked me what I was looking to have done. I told her a pedicure, but that I didn't want to keep them open past closing time, and that I'd come back another time. She insisted I stay and that it was no big deal...even though I'm sure it was! I told them a "quickie" pedi would be perfect, and that any extras (such as massage, etc) weren't necessary. The woman who welcomed me turned out to be the owner, and her co-owner/husband gave me my pedicure. He did a great job, even at the late hour. I was very appreciative of the excellent customer service they provided me. The three of us had a lovely chat during my pedicure. Walking in on a whim turned out to be a great decision! It was my first time visiting this nail salon, but it definitely won't be my last!! (next time, I promise to come during regular business hours! ;) read more

The staff is super friendly and the salon is immaculate, with a very relaxing (and cozy atmosphere)! I go here to get both my gel manicures as well as my pedicures and I have yet to leave disappointed. Their prices are reasonable and the results are always nothing but perfect. When I go in with requests for my nails they always are able to follow through and really do a remarkable job. They also give the best mini shoulder massages while waiting for you nails to dry and for me that is a necessity! I really had high hopes for this place especially after the reviews seemed so positive but I was gravely disappointed. I showed up and had to wait a few minutes and that was fine since I didn't have an appointment. Then I was placed at a workstation. The woman that tended to me was working with a customer before and she was having a conversation with her while she did her manicure. When she came over to do my nails, she was more like a robot than a human, she didn't even make small talk like most nail technicians do and she was doing my nails like she was trying to catch the 4 o'clock bus. She was moving so quickly and the place wasn't even that full. I was already annoyed at this point. When she was done one of my nail had these speckles in the polish, she said it was because my nail was dry! At this point, I'm just done with this place. I won't be back, which is too bad because I only live 2 minutes away. But if I'm spending my money to do a gel manicure, I expect a good nail job, not a half a$$ nail job. It seems like they were nicer to the white patrons and since I'm not white, maybe I wasn't worthy of good service. The nail technician gave me a reason NOT to go back! The girl that did mine didn't even paint the base coat all the way to the cuticle resulting in chipping, went back for repairs and was charged ! I Went 3 times for gel manicure and had problems twice with the gel not adhering And they are not nice about fixing them ! When I come to this salon I get treated like royalty! I always get a Pedicure & a Gel Manicure when I'm in. The girls that do the pedicures are so sweet and very hardworking! For my Gel manicure I prefer they get done by David the owner, he takes his time and makes sure EVERY nail comes out PERFECT. The other owner is a very nice lady I believe it's his wife, but whenever I get my Gel manicure with her it seems rushed & is not perfected sometimes even sloppy, but I hate to complain so I just keep quiet. Oh my God! Worse experience of my life. The girl giving me a chair massage doesn't know what she is doing. The massage was so painful as she kept targeting my back and neck bones with ferocious and angry intensity. As I was about to get up and leave she immediately pushed the middle of my back bone with the palms of both her hands so hard that you could hear my back crack unnaturally. She did this with no warning and in a painfully intense way. To add insult to injury she denied pushing my back when I explained to the man at the cashier desk that she is a danger to the public. The final insult came when another employee came and refused to offer any apology or discount but actually tried to cover up the massage girl's actions. If you value your health Do Not go to Cozy Nail Spa...There is NOTHING cozy about it. read more

Eh place is OK. It's clean and nicely decorated. They did a great job on my toes but terrible job on my nails and completely rushed the whole process to get to the next customer. If you go ask for Vivienne (I believe that was her name, she did my toes). As soon as I walked in and asked for a manicure they immediately tried selling me on the shellac, which I did not want (most likely b/c it is more expensive) . $13 for a manicure is also pretty expensive for what you get and compared to other good nail salons in the area who charge $10-12 and they charge $35 for shellac. I did get a deal though as they had a mani pedi special which was $37 I believe but they only take cash tip so prepare yourself. I prefer Nails Noble on Fenn Road. They're a lot nicer, have better customer service and are reasonably priced. They also give massages as you're getting your manicure and when your nails are drying! Bonus! read more

I informed him that I prefer a tool, either the blade, he claimed it is illegal, or the one that looks like a grater, he informed me they use neither and to call another place.
