They are still working on the lobby, it was covered with plastic. The coffee and snack counter was closed. I look forward to seeing the renovation. Hilton Stockton has a breakfast buffet downstairs; however, it is not included in the price of the room. It is your typical hotel breakfast for $15. Definitely more improvements since our last stay. The air conditioning in the lobby was working this time.

I told the desk person when I went to complain about everything that wasn't working and she said "oh it's been in the website for 4 months" I looked again on the website and there is nothing saying there is a remodel going on. I had gone to the elevators and neither were working and there was no information regarding how you could exit. I paid a premium for this hotel and didn't get my moneys worth at all. I want a discount for the inconvenience. I know things happen but aren't elevators supposed to be checked regularly so this situation doesn't happen? I would not recommend this hotel ant all. Next day: This hotel is in Stockton. I'm in room 343 tonight as well. I just returned to my room and it hasn't been made up. I was walking g down the stairs and noticed an older woman struggling with large luggage from a floor above mine so I helped her even thought I have back problems as well and would help if I had an elevator. Now, I will have to walk my bags down as well! Your company sucks!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel because we were in town for a…read moreWWE event at the Arena across the street, which made the location absolutely perfect. No need to drive around or worry about parking after watching grown men dramatically suplex each other for our entertainment. Overall, I'd give the hotel a solid 4/5 for the price. The location was great, the hotel had a nice waterfront setting, and for what we paid, I felt like we got a pretty good deal. However, I have one major complaint: THE ROOM WAS HOTTER THAN HELL'S SUMMER VACATION. The AC was set to 65°F, which I assumed meant the room would eventually become a refreshing little refrigerator. Instead, the room apparently decided it was training for the WWE main event. At one point in the afternoon, the temperature climbed all the way up to 80°F. Eighty. Degrees. Meanwhile, the thermostat was sitting there proudly displaying 65°F like it had personally accomplished something. I began to suspect the air conditioner was less of an appliance and more of a decorative wall ornament. At that point, I was sweating harder than the wrestlers across the street. Aside from the room temperature saga, we had a good stay and enjoyed the convenience of being directly across from the Arena. For the price, I'd stay here again, but next time I'm bringing a thermometer, a portable fan, and possibly a small team of HVAC technicians.

So this is supposed to be the nicer of the hotels in the area which makes me sad. My first night in…read morethe hotel was horrible. After being underwhelmed by the looks of the hotel and rooms, asked if I could have a water view. I was informed only rooms with 2 beds get a water view and there is an up charge because it has 2 beds. I am only one person.... Next I went to climb into bed. The bed had some hairs in it that were not mine, so I called the Front Desk. The front desk offered to change my room, but it was 1030 at night. I requested that they just come change the sheets instead so I didn't have to repack my stuff and move it. Someone who looked like they were from housekeeping, came by with a stack of clean sheets, handed them to me and walked away. I was left to remake my own bed and strip off the other sheets. After stripping off the sheets and remaking the bed, I found that these sheets had blood on them. I called the front desk again and requested new sheets. Again, someone showed up my door with a stack of sheets and handed them to me. This is not how a hotel should handle a situation like this. I expect someone to come in and remake the bed and take away the sheets, not have me leave them on my floor overnight. I was so tired. I didn't even bother putting a new duvet cover on the duvet, which was handed to me. The duvet was on the floor with the sheets that I did not sleep in. The next day I put out a sign for maid service. Unfortunately, they did not get back to my room by the time I returned at 2:30 PM in the afternoon. The woman that works on the fourth floor was horrified when I explained what happened the evening before. I truly appreciate her kindness and understanding of the issues from the night before she quickly had someone come in and remove the huge mound of sheets on my floor. She then contacted the front desk to find out more information and have them waive my resort fee of $26- Her service was what I expected from the hotel Front Desk at 10:30 PM the night before. Because of this experience, it makes me wonder if there isn't someplace better in the area to go or just drive from a further distance daily to get to University of the Pacific.

They don't offer queen double rooms, and we wound up booking a room with two doubles, for three adults. Two of us were squished uncomfortably in one small bed. It was a poor night's sleep. The AC splitter unit was old and made weird creepy loud noises all night, keeping us up. It was humid and hot. The shower was dated and cheesy. It felt so much like a motel 8. The mattress was hard, side sleeping hurt. Lol- the elevator is slow and halfway broken, and the front door to the lobby got stuck shut so nobody could leave or enter, on our way out... LOL.. If you're loyal to the brand, and you want a place to stay in a safe part of Stockton, this is a good plan. I realize, not all Courtyard Marriotts are the same. This one has a lot of good but a lot of so so. It is probably still one of the better places to stay in Stockton.

TLDR: I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was disappointing from start to finish…read more Courtyard Marriot's are known to be the worst, this is the worst by far..... I would give it one star out of five stars. I attempted to complete Mobile Check-In at 4:00 p.m. and use the Mobile Key feature, which is one of Marriott's signature conveniences. However, I received a notification that I needed to stop by the front desk to verify my ID due to a system upgrade. While inconvenient, I understood and arrived at the hotel around midnight. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was poor. The night auditor did not greet us or offer a welcome. Instead, he immediately asked for my ID and credit card without any hospitality. After returning my ID and credit card, he never provided room keys. When I mentioned that I had not received them, he insisted that he had already given them to me and stated that the Mobile Key "should work," but could not guarantee it. Rather than resolving the issue professionally, he appeared more interested in arguing than assisting. Once we entered the room, the experience only got worse. The room had a strong musty odor and felt dated. The bathtub contained hair, and there was a false eyelash on the bathroom sink, making the cleanliness of the room very questionable. The bathroom fixtures are clearly overdue for replacement, the sink drained extremely slowly, and both the sink and shower had very poor water pressure. Overall, this property is in desperate need of a full renovation, from the guest rooms to the plumbing fixtures. More importantly, the staff would benefit from additional customer service training to provide a more welcoming and professional experience. I would not stay at this Courtyard again, nor would I recommend it to others until significant improvements are made.

My mother has stayed at this hotel at least 10 times previously. I initially booked and paid for her room but inadvertently left the reservation in my name. This was an honest mistake, and on previous stays I have been able to correct the guest name on a reservation when necessary. When my mother arrived, the front desk would not allow her to check in because the reservation was under my name. She called me and handed the phone to the front desk employee. I explained that the room was for my mother, acknowledged the mistake, and asked to have the reservation changed to her name. He refused. Since he would not change the name, I tried to resolve the problem another way: I booked and paid for a SECOND room, this time specifically in my mother's name. Despite now having a valid reservation in her own name, the front desk employee still initially refused to allow her to stay. At that point, I had paid for two rooms while my elderly mother was standing at the hotel unable to check into either one. I asked that the reservations be canceled and my money refunded if they were not going to accommodate her. That request was refused. It was only after I said I would dispute the charges with my bank that my mother was finally allowed to stay. My mother ultimately used ONE room, but I was charged for TWO. I requested a refund for the unused room, and I still have not received it. What is particularly troubling is what happened after I requested that refund. Only after I sought reimbursement for the room we did not use was I informed that the hotel would no longer accommodate my mother in the future. This is a woman who has stayed at this property at least 10 times. I have also made repeated attempts to contact management by phone and email to resolve the outstanding refund, without resolution. I take responsibility for accidentally leaving my name on the original reservation. What I cannot understand is why my mother was still initially refused accommodation after I purchased a second room in HER name, why I am still being charged for a room that was never used, and why, only after I requested my money back, I was told that my mother would no longer be accommodated at this hotel. A simple reservation mistake should never have escalated this far. My elderly mother was left standing at the hotel while I tried to resolve the situation remotely, I had to pay for a second room just to try to get her checked in, and I am still waiting for my money back for the unused room. After at least 10 previous stays, I find the way this situation has been handled extremely disappointing. At this point, I am simply asking Studio 6 to refund the unused room that I paid for and provide an explanation for how this matter was handled.
