The mangroves are pretty and worth seeing. Our tour ended within the hour (should have been 90 min) but we were given the option of having the kayaks longer so we paddled out to West Lake, very pretty. I was able to take my time, relax, and actually enjoy being out in nature without feeling rushed. I explored the lakeside, mud flats, and part of the South Trail, and the views from the tower were excellent. I also saw a few different bird species and some butterflies along the way. There's also an exhibit showing a model for a new aquarium that's supposed to open in 2028, which was interesting to see. As a longtime Hollywood resident, I can't believe this was my first visit but it definitely won't be my last.

The seats are so comfortable and the coolers and ice are built into the bar in front of you so you never have to get up. They have charging stations with usb ports and cords. You can charge your phone so you will never miss a photo opportunity. They supply music or you can plug in your own play list. The bathroom on board is definitely better than a port a john. It's clean, comfortable, and has a flushing toilet. The boat has a canopy to help block some of the sun on hot days. The captain and all the owners we encountered were extremely nice and accomedating. The lake was beautiful. We did the 3 hour cruise for a bachelorette party. What was nice about this boat is when you got tired or just didn't feel like peddling they have a motor to take over for you. When your done with the cruise they shuttle you back to your car. The whole experience was very well planned out and ran smoothly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time on the lake. You will not be disappointed.

Anne Kolbe does not allow fishing but Lake Forest Park does. Lake Forest Park has two overlook piers for fishing on the intracoastal waterway. The trail has a boardwalk that goes over channels that connect the intracoastal waterway with the Atlantic Ocean and West Lake. Lining the waterway is an important environmentally sensitive mangrove swamp. Mangroves protect shorelines from storm and hurricane damage, prevent erosion, maintain water quality and clarity by filtering pollutants and trapping sediments, and they provide nesting and breeding habitat for fish and shellfish and migratory birds. As the dying leaves fall off the mangroves into the water they form a nutrient rich soup that feeds animals. As the tide goes out the food and animals are drawn into the intracoastal to feed predators. The tide washes animals in search of food back into the estuary. Even if you are not fishing this is a very pleasant walk with beautiful views of the intracoastal. In the preserve you may see crabs, fish, birds, and even manatee in the winter. Sadly not everyone who comes here to fish takes their garbage back out with them. Take only pictures and leave only footprints.

It is known for its charming 1920's homes and pedestrian friendly environment. The park is bounded on all four sides by homes making it the focal point of the neighborhood. It is one of the green spaces Hollywood founder Joseph Young set aside for parks and open spaces. Young named 27 streets after U.S. presidents, from George Washington to Calvin Coolidge. This park is named after President Thomas Jefferson as it sits on Jefferson Street. Jefferson Park has a number of recreational amenities making it highly desirable to neighborhood residents. There are four lighted tennis courts, paddleball courts, two basketball courts, 2 bocce courts, restrooms, playground equipment, and a baseball/softball field. On the night I visited the park was filled with people enjoying every area. The tennis and basketball courts and the playground in particular were filled with people playing games and delighting in the great weather outdoors. This is exactly the kind of bucolic scene founder Joseph Young had the foresight to plan for and which makes Hollywood so family friendly.

The neighborhood is prized for its beauty and convenience to the downtown business district. Eppleman Park is one of the smallest parks in the Hollywood Lakes neighborhood. It is located on the Intracoastal Waterway giving you a great view of the water and the boats. The park has a large picnic shelter with several picnic tables, a water fountain and water bottle refilling station, park benches, swings, and a shade covered playground with artificial turf. The landscaping in the park is beautiful and I even spotted an Altamira Oriole in a tree. This park is ideal for a cookout, exercise, taking the kids to play, or just relaxing as you watch the boats glide by.

WORST SERVICE I…read morecalled a week in advance to get a text message claiming not to worry and call when I arrived to Hollywood beach (I'm from Delaware). I called this morning to be told the rentals ended at 4 and was never told I needed a reservation. I look for the shop around 2 (which I never found) and called the shop to be told he's currently teaching a lesson to a group and to meet him along the water. I went to the shore, he wasn't there. Call back, he tells us to meet at a marina, he's not there. I walked up and down both Hollywood Lakes, spoke with Skipper multiple times to never find him. I gave up by 3:30 seeing the place closed at 4 and never received a call or apology.
