The hubby assured me that that despite it being busy we will get our food soon. Sat down, got the pulled pork nachos for an appetizer and a margarita! The Margaritas are dangerously good. The cup it comes in just makes it better. You would have to be silly to order anything other than the fish on a Friday. (If you know anything about kitchens) 3 pieces for $15. Seasoned well. No grease. Golden. Crunchy. It was good. The manager is fantastic! He busts his butt. Checks on the staff, checks on the customers. Bussing the tables. Friendly. Just good stuff. Our waitress was nice too. Offered us more tartar sauce. Got our waters and drinks out fast. You need to check this place out. Good atmosphere.

The Pacific Ave Athletic Complex (PAAC) went up about a month or so ago, and triggered my curiousity after seeing the construction, plus how it's lit up at night while baseball games go on...hmmm...let's check it out. Went there mid morning...here's what I saw... - Ample parking - A man-made lake with rentable gazebo's by it - Nicely kept baseball fields, electronic scoreboards, very tall fence-thingies (sorry, I'm writing this review late at night)...the places to sit were like concrete slabs...but decent! And under some sort of shade -An age appropriate playing area - A shaded snack area (no ATM's, maybe cash only) - Plenty of overhead lights for those night games Reviews on Google say no outside food allowed or they have certain fees...not sure about that. I guess people don't mind as it seems busy on evenings and nights. Yuma needed this so...here it is. Worth checking out.

The host family paid our admission, and we paid for food. The food was the usual fair food and decently priced and tasteful. The water park? Lots of options; such as a lazy river and, of course, the tube rides! The lifeguards were on their game; helpful, friendly, and watchful. There was a section for toddlers, and a section everyone could enjoy. Yes, a section for the wet bar as well. They had shaded, seated areas for rent, but we grabbed two free table areas upon arrival. There was a nice mix of music and people, and everyone seemed to get along. Overall; great time. A little bit on the pricey side, but you get your money's worth, especially as the heat rises. Recommended!

This is an AWESOME OASIS right along the highway (Open Nov thru April on Saturdays 9-5 and Sundays…read more12-5) with so much to do in a quiet, hassle-free space. The 28-acre site includes a botanical garden featuring Sonoran desert vegetation, a watershed model, a pond for wild and domestic waterfowl, and a display of antique farm equipment. Rumor has it that there is also a mysterious tortoise that hangs out there, but you have to find him!!! The BEST thing about the place it that you can walk around in silence and clear your head, chek out the antique tractors and farm equipment, enjoy the vegitation or just sit in the shade (many benches provided along the way) near the pond and watch the ducks and the other people (very kid friendly) enjoying themselves. I would check out their website, because it's loaded with suggestions and facts about the awesome garden activities. http://www.yumaconservationgarden.org/YCG%20Activities.htm
