They tried to scam my mom for baby teeth when I was younger, first they tried to extract my teeth (that were the baby teeth) then they said they wouldn't do it unless my mom paid $2,000 for anesthesia Edit: they also tried to charge my mom an extra $3-4,000 for a hospital room to book that date for (I never got it we don't ever go there anymore and the baby teeth fell out) Worst dentistry ever!!!! I thought it was a great time to refresh my 5 year old review of Cox Pediatric Dentistry. Our children have now been patients of Dr. Cox for 14 years. My original review remains unchanged as to the rating and we are so happy with the practice. Since August my daughter has received six week periodic appointments for braces. The process of install and adjustments has been smooth. Wait times for adjustments minimal. The pricing seems around standard for their office to do your child's braces. They have a monthly payment plan at no interest. They take most insurance plans. I would encourage a read of both my in depth original review and updated version if considering braces. If your child breaks up dental care and braces with two practices be prepared for a lot more juggle. I like that everything is in house. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Dr. Cox is the absolute BEST Pediatric dentist out there and we've gone to quit a few bc my 2 year had some cavities. Other doctors could only suggest pulling one tooth and caping the others. Dr Cox actually pulled the root, clean out the tooth and rebuilt it AND his treatment plan was actually cheaper than the other dentist we previously were going to go with, plus my child got to keep all his teeth! Thank you Dr. Cox and staff. Also, big thanks to his staff. Every time I called they knew exactly what I was talking about, where is other offices are so disorganized and hard to get follow up on. Everything just went so smoothly with them and trust me I've had experience with a few different dentists now. So relieved we found them! read more

We don't go here for our normal cleanings but we were referred out for a particular tooth watch for our child. After our first consultation $95.00 we had to go back a second time for the same tooth. We were told two different things. One over the phone they might pull it, in the office they wouldn't pull it because there had to be a antibiotic prescribed for at least a week. So another office visit that wasted our time, which the bill is still being processed and I haven't not received. A week later when they were supposed to abstract the tooth we went to the appointment. The parents were not aloud back for some reason when the child in my mind is still so young. After 5 minutes they brought our child back and said they couldn't do the abstract after giving nitrous gas to our child . The only option would be is to send to an out patient a different day and put our baby under for one baby tooth. I said I was not going to do that and didn't feel safe to have our child put under. I immediately called our regular dentist office and thank goodness they got us referred to another pediatric dentist immediately. I will say Im very pleased with "Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics" . The Dr. We had was very patient with our child and got the tooth out! I will never go back to Cox! And after I mentioned it to several different resources they have heard the same thing! Bad experiences as well! Lastly Cox was going to make me pay $160 for the nitrous bc insurance doesn't cover it but the Children's Dentistry only made me pay $130. So how does that even make sense!?? Plus never had me sign a consent form like the children's dentistry did! read more

We had to find a new dentist because of changes in our dental plan, so we brought our three young children in for their first visit to this establishment. We were there for a routine cleaning and check-up. I appreciated that the paperwork was printable from their website so that I could fill it out at home instead of in the waiting area. The waiting area had a kid's table with crayons and a television playing an animated movie. The children were called all at once, and when I stood up to accompany them to the back, I was told that I needed to stay in the waiting area. I explained that I was not at all comfortable with that. She left for a couple of minutes, then returned and said that we could all go back, myself included. She explained that it is the office policy that the parents do not accompany the children to the back for the appointments. The appointments went well for all three children. Everyone was nice and they treated the kids well. As we were leaving, I was reminded of the office policy, and notified that in case of future possible procedures, exceptions will not be made for parents to accompany the children. Everyone was nice and the appointment went well. However, the office policy makes us extremely uncomfortable so we will not be returning. This is a nice establishment, but I've never heard of such a strange office policy, which is why my rating is so low. If you are not prepared to have your children out of your line of site for the duration of their appointment, do not come here because you will not be allowed to join them. I specifically chose this place because it was a Pediatric Dentist's office. I expected them to be family accommodating, but I have never seen a policy where a two year old child is expected to go to the back unaccompanied. I am disappointed to have to search for a new dentist again. read more

I want to start off with the positives of this place: very friendly, kind, and knowledgeable staff cared for my son during his 2 appointments there. They were very nice and friendly! I would like them as my own dentist location if I were able to see them. Only thing that's troublesome: they won't let parents go into the back with their kids, even if they're 2 or 3. I've only had 2 appointments with them for my son - the first time they must have forgot because I accompanied them to the back (not knowing about this rule). This was great because my son did very well with my presence (let them put him in chair, look in teeth, poke around, etc). At 2 years old that was great! I was so proud of him. Then we recently had to go again for another look at a tooth, at 3 years old. When they called his name, they said I couldn't go back with him. This came as a shock, since the last time I was able to. At 3 years old he didn't want to sit in the dentist chair, alone, because he was nervous. He let them look in his mouth sitting up on a plain chair near the dentist chair which was great. But had I been there, I know he would have felt more comfortable to do anything they said! Then after they were done, they called me back to talk to me about what they did, so I ended up going to the back anyways? This policy makes no sense to me, especially for young children 5 or under who are nervous to go. Long story short, this is an amazing place with a no-parent policy that doesn't make sense. There was another 4 year old child in waiting room terrified not wanting to go without parent. Love the people, confused about policy for young children. read more

Dr. Cox and his staff are excellent. My son actually loves going to see them. He remembers Dr. Cox's sense of humor and playfulness. I highly recommend them for kids of all ages. One word of caution, Dr. Cox prefers to see his patients without the parent in tow. Since my son was only 2 the first time he came here, I really wasn't comfortable with this. They did allow me to come back, and I was completely satisfied with the care my son received. Apparently my son was as well..when we showed up this time for his appointment, he went back without even a second glance back to me. Believe me, this is one of those times when you don't have to be a "helicopter parent". Your child is in excellent hands! read more

I recently brought my daughter in for dental work and have absolutely no complaints about it. I was told the grand total after insurance would be $661 so I paid that amount up front and the. We set up the appointment. Everything was just fine. I even went in for a follow up and left without anyone saying anything about any bills or payments. I just received a letter in the mail stating that I owe $2,668!!!! It's a Saturday so I cannot speak to anyone. I am really hoping this is a HUGE mistake because that was not what was told to me. I will write another review Monday with some answers after I call. read more

As a dental health professional for over 15 years, and a full-time employed registered dental hygienist of 10 years I'm simply disgusted at the front office staff at this office! What an embarrassment to the entire dental field, especially with pediatric care! My poor five-year-old son is now experiencing pain is in his teeth due to the incompetence of not authorizing treatment in a timely matter! I will never recommend this office to anyone!! My son and I were given the complete run around and the only excuse that was given upon confrontation is that they're just "so busy!" So insulting especially since the patient is a young child! As an RDH, I would never treat any of my patients in this way, in fact I always go above and beyond to ensure they have been given the best treatment possible! In the dental field we are all well aware of the high turnover present, especially among the employees that work the front desk/reception area. I strongly advise that the business owner replace and well educate their front office staff before a horrible and well-deserved lawsuit is brought forward! Not to mention to do that to a child because you are "so busy!" Might want to consider giving a better excuse! Also, may want to actually note on the bills that are mailed out the date of service as well as a dental code! As on my bill, that was mailed a month later, (and actually said it was 30 days past due) was completely blank! Starting to wonder if documentation and recordkeeping was even noted in my son's chart at all! What a waste of time and money it was to go here! And now my son is in pain with teeth that should have and could have been treated a long time ago! Thanks for nothing! You all definitely have "unprofessionalism" down to a T! We went in to check on our sons chipped tooth. From start to finish we loved this Dental office. January 5, 2015 was our first time visiting with our 16 month old son. First ever dental appointment for him. The staff was pleasant and so tender to our little guy. He had an X-ray done in a blink of an eye and he didn't cry or put up a fight. When Dr. Cox came in to check his teeth, he spoke in a Donald Duck voice which amused my son very much! Mommy and Daddy too! Dr. Cox spoke kindly and wisely towards us, which is very much appreciated since we are young parents. (27 & 28 years young) If you are new to the area, do not hesitate to try them out for you little ones! read more

Great guy but either he or his staff went wild with a treatment proposal involving spending $4K on baby teeth. Had to do hours of research myself to learn that same problem could get resolved for around $200. They sure weren't going to share this info with me. Same billing surprises and billing "mistakes" in their favor of course as any place else around here. It's so much extra non-paid work calling my insurance company (when paid staff should be trusted with this!) just to get a fair deal. read more

What a wonderful practice this is! I cannot say enough good things. Our 2 year old daughter fell and bumped her tooth a couple of weeks ago. We started to notice that tooth discoloring, and began to panic. We called Dr. Cox and he saw us right away. Everyone at this office was kind and smiling, and helped to put both my daughter and me at complete ease! We saw Dr. Cox and Sissy, and they were both so great with our little girl. She barely noticed the exam! She was smiles and giggles the whole time. After doing their exam - we discussed treatment options together. As a parent - I was really made to feel a part of the care team. I cannot tell you how important that was to me. Afterwards, we were put in touch with Kerry, who helped us in coordinating the day of treatment. Waiting for the procedure day was by far going to be the hardest part for me, and I mentioned that to Kerry. Even though there was no real clinical emergency, the procedure could have taken place days or months from not without any difference in outcome -- understanding my anxieties, everyone came together to move things around and have our procedure scheduled sooner. Kerry was so sweet and understanding. We see Dr. Cox for our regular cleanings, and have always had great experiences. But it is good to know, that at a time of crisis, this is a practice you can count on to do the right thing for your child, and support you as a parent. They really understand that when your little one is hurt - your world stops turning. They helped us through this, and I am so grateful. read more
